Chapter 112 Floods in the South

After Leng Yan arranged what he was going to do next, he took the time to visit Qin Du and then went to find the Emperor of the Ming Dynasty.

When Leng Yan arrived at the Imperial Study, the Emperor was discussing government affairs with other ministers. When Leng Yan reached the door of the Imperial Study, he was stopped by the guards outside.

The guard looked at Leng Yan with some embarrassment and said, "Her Majesty the Fifth Princess is discussing government affairs. You cannot go in."

Leng Yan nodded and stood aside waiting. Seeing this, the palace servant beside her immediately ran over and brought a chair for Leng Yan to sit on.

Leng Yan just sat there waiting, and soon she saw Liu Fude come out. He walked to Leng Yan's side, bowed, and said respectfully, "Fifth Princess, His Majesty lets you in."

Leng Yan glanced at him, then stood up and said, "Let's go." Then Leng Yan walked towards the imperial study.

After Leng Yan entered, she saw several ministers standing inside. After Leng Yan entered, all the ministers looked at her. It was the Minister of Rites who reacted first. He bowed to Leng Yan and said, "This old minister greets the Fifth Princess."

The other ministers also reacted and bowed to Leng Yan. Leng Yan nodded and then walked to the desk and saluted the Great Ming Emperor, saying, "Father."

The Great Ming Emperor nodded and said, "Yan'er, come and sit next to me." Leng Yan responded and then walked to the seat next to the Great Ming Emperor and sat down.

After Leng Yan sat down, the Great Ming Emperor looked at the ministers and said, "Continue." The ministers exchanged glances, and finally the Minister of Works spoke up, "Your Majesty, I think the Imperial Master should be sent to deal with the floods in the south."

Several other ministers immediately began recommending candidates. Leng Yan frowned slightly when she heard about the flood in the south. She looked at the desk in front of her, where a memorial lay open. Cultivators are naturally sharp-eyed and perceptive, and Leng Yan immediately understood the contents of the memorial.

After Leng Yan quickly read the contents of the memorial, he looked at the people who were still arguing and said lightly: "I'll go." As soon as these words came out, the imperial study immediately became quiet.

Everyone looked at Leng Yan. Leng Yan met their gazes and glanced up and said calmly, "Is there a problem?"

After hearing this, several ministers looked at the Emperor of the Ming Dynasty and then immediately lowered their heads.

The Great Ming Emperor looked at Leng Yan with a frown. Leng Yan felt the Great Ming Emperor's gaze and turned to look. The two looked at each other and the Great Ming Emperor understood what Leng Yan meant in an instant.

He looked at the ministers in the room. Seeing this, the ministers immediately said, "Your Majesty, the Fifth Princess has just returned and is still unclear about this matter. This is not acceptable." The others echoed him.

The Ming Emperor glanced at a few people, and they immediately shut up, but the meaning conveyed in their eyes was the same, that is: Your Majesty, please think twice.

The Great Ming Emperor saw the looks in their eyes and said calmly, "Okay, I'll consider this matter. You can go back first. Yan'er will stay."

As soon as these words were spoken, several ministers understood what the Great Ming Emperor meant. Although they were somewhat reluctant, they finally bowed and left. After all, the Great Ming Emperor had never done anything absurd or reckless during his reign in the past few years, so the ministers speculated that the Great Ming Emperor must have some plan that required the Fifth Princess to do.

After the ministers left, the Emperor sent everyone out of the room. When only the Emperor and Leng Yan were left in the room, the Emperor looked at Leng Yan and said, "Yan'er, this matter is too dangerous. You'd better not get involved. I will handle this matter myself."

Leng Yan looked at the Great Ming Emperor and said, "Father, this is a good opportunity for you to get rid of the Prime Minister." The Great Ming Emperor said, "But..." Before he could finish his words, he was interrupted by Leng Yan. Leng Yan said, "Father, I know how to handle this matter. You don't need to persuade me."

The Ming Emperor looked at Leng Yan and saw that her eyes were still indifferent. After a long time, he sighed and said, "Forget it, it's up to you. I can't control you anymore." The last sentence was quite emotional.

After hearing this, Leng Yan pursed her lips and said, "Thank you very much, father." The Ming Emperor glanced at Leng Yan and said, "Then bring your junior brother with you."

Leng Yan said calmly, "That's not necessary. He will stay in the capital. I will make my own arrangements for his son." The Ming Emperor said, "If that's the case, then leave it alone." Leng Yan nodded and said, "Well, if there's nothing else, I'll go back."

The Ming Emperor nodded and said, "Go ahead. Visit the capital more often when you have time. A lot of changes have taken place in the capital in recent years." Leng Yan nodded and said, "Your son understands," then stood up and left the imperial study.

Leng Yan returned to her own bedroom and asked her servants to invite Qin Du over.

Qin Du arrived not long after. He looked at her with some confusion and asked, "Senior Sister, what do you want to talk to me about?"

Leng Yan looked at him and said, "I'm leaving the capital in a few days. How about you stay here?" Qin Du was stunned and then asked, "Why do you want to leave the capital, Senior Sister?"

Leng Yan said calmly, "There's a flood in the south, I want to go take a look." Qin Du frowned as soon as these words came out and asked, "Senior Sister, I suspect someone did all this on purpose." Leng Yan didn't say anything, which was considered as her agreement.

She has been traveling in recent years. She has also been to the south. When she went there, the weather was good. Now that a flood has suddenly occurred, it is inevitable that people will be suspicious.

Qin Du looked at Leng Yan and asked again, "Then why did Senior Sister take a few days to go?" Leng Yan looked at him with an inexplicably gloomy expression, but it was only for a brief moment, so fast that Qin Du thought he had seen it wrong.

The next second he heard Leng Yan reply: "I still have things to deal with in the capital."

After hearing this, Qin Du did not ask any more questions. In the evening, a servant came to ask Leng Yan to go to the emperor's bedroom for dinner. Although Leng Yan had no appetite, he went anyway.

Over the past five years, she has taken some pills to treat her anorexia from time to time. Although she doesn't take them often, her anorexia has improved. At least now she can eat something.
