Chapter 150: Good at both the living room and the kitchen

Song Zhi has a habit when doing exams, which is to go through all the questions first before starting to answer them.

She flipped through it and felt a little relieved.

In the main room, everyone buried their heads in deep thought, their pens waving back and forth.

Song Zhi was the fastest one among them. While Rong Zhengqing was still counting on his fingers, she had already turned to the second page.

Ran Qiu was not willing to fall behind and followed her pace closely.

Perhaps because everyone was secretly competing with each other, the atmosphere in the main room seemed a little solemn.

The three little ones who had never seen the world were scared to death.

Dabao didn't dare to play with Erbao and Sanya anymore. He quickly took out his textbooks and sat upright on the small stool.

Two hours later, Rong Zhengqing, the last one to finish, also put down his pen.

Song Zhi suggested, "Let's exchange grading papers and check the answers now."

"Ugh, it feels like I did everything wrong. What a waste of ink."

Rong Zhengqing raised the corners of his mouth bitterly, and the fire of confidence that had just ignited was mostly extinguished.

Nie Jinmei nudged her with her elbow and consciously exchanged their test papers.

"Don't be discouraged. We haven't touched a book in so many years. If we really knew everything, wouldn't we be a child prodigy?"

Rong Zhengqing chuckled at her.

The two of them exchanged test papers, and Song Zhi handed her own to Ran Qiu.

Ran Qiu smelled the faint fragrance of the test paper and his heart beat faster.

Nie Jinmei, who had been observing secretly, touched Rong Zhengqing's arm and nodded at her.

Anyone with a discerning eye can see that Ran Qiu likes Song Zhi.

Only the person involved, Song Zhi, was so stupid that he didn't even think about it that way.

Nie Jinmei propped up her chin and suddenly said, "The fallen flowers have feelings, but the flowing water is ruthless."

As soon as he finished speaking, Ran Qiu's body stiffened noticeably.

Nie Jinmei leaned on Rong Zhengqing, covering her mouth and laughing secretly.

Song Zhi was stunned and hadn't reacted yet, flipping through the test paper suspiciously.

"Is this sentence also included in the Chinese language test?"

Ran Qiu paused and glanced at her casually.

“Puff—”

Nie Jinmei laughed even louder, and Rong Zhengqing laughed along with her, but he felt very envious in his heart.

Ran Qiuren is good-looking, responsible, and motivated. Apart from his poor family background, he seems to have no other shortcomings.

But no matter how good he is, the gap between him and Song Zhi is not even a little bit.

Rong Zhengqing sighed silently and suddenly realized that something seemed to be wrong.

The main room is too quiet.

Apart from Nie Jinmei's laughter, nothing else could be heard.

"Did Dabao and the others go to bed?"

Just now they were so busy doing their homework that they didn't pay attention to what the three little ones were doing.

It was only after Rong Zhengqing brought it up that everyone realized what was going on.

Ran Qiu turned his head and saw three little ones snuggling together and taking shelter in the corner.

They had fallen asleep, their faces flushed from sleep, and their textbooks still in their hands.

Song Zhi was suddenly happy.

"Did he study so hard that he fell asleep?"

She walked over quietly and touched their foreheads.

It was still snowing outside. Although there was a charcoal stove lit in the main room, the temperature was not suitable for sleeping.

Looking at the child's red face, Song Zhi's heart almost melted.

She turned her head and waved at Ran Qiu, "Take Dabao and the others back to sleep. They'll catch a cold tomorrow if they sleep here."

Ran Qiu nodded, squatted beside her and touched Dabao's face.

"Dabao, wake up and go back to sleep."

"Don't worry, I'll go get some mattresses to wrap you up so you don't get blown by the wind."

Rong Zhengqing was very careful. He went out and got three mattresses and came back.

Ran Qiu, Rong Zhengqing and Nie Jinmei each held one and sent the three little ones into the house to sleep.

Song Zhi went back to look at the test paper first.

Soon, the three of them came back. Nie Jinmei rubbed her hands and blew on them.

"It's getting late, let's check the answers quickly."

They started with Chinese, and when they encountered controversial questions, they would look up the correct answers in the textbook.

We were discussing and grading the papers at the same time, and it was already past three in the morning when we finished checking all the papers.

Song Zhi yawned and flipped through his test paper.

She performed normally this time. Except for losing points in Chinese classical literature, she got high scores in mathematics, physics and chemistry.

Ran Qiu was still staring at the test paper. Because they had just exchanged papers, he knew very well where the differences lay between him and Song Zhi.

He had no problem with Chinese, but he lost points in chemistry and physics because he couldn't remember the formulas.

Song Zhi comforted him, "It's easy to catch up if you can't remember the formulas. Take some time to memorize them more, and you'll definitely get a high score next time."

Ran Qiu smiled and nodded slightly.

Song Zhi looked at the unhappy duo opposite him again.

"By the way, how are things going with you two?"

Nie Jinmei grinned and smiled sheepishly, "Although I passed all the tests, I'm still far behind you two."

"You're far behind, and I'm a million miles behind."

Rong Zhengqing stared at the test paper speechlessly, holding his forehead with his hand and smiling bitterly, "I said I had given back everything I learned in school, but I was clearly a top student in high school, so how come I failed Physics and Chemistry?"

Chinese and politics are subjects in which you will get points as long as you write, and only physics and chemistry are the main subjects that make the difference.

Nie Jinmei patted her shoulder sympathetically, "You should be happy. At least we weren't completely wiped out."

"Go to hell." Rong Zhengqing said unhappily.

Song Zhi laughed and took over the conversation, "Take your time. There's still a long time before the college entrance examination. Besides, you have the basics. With a little review, you'll be able to get the hang of it soon."

Although they were all meant to comfort people, Song Zhi's words were very convincing.

"I hope so."

Rong Zhengqing lay on the table, looking as if all his energy had been sucked out.

"Are you all hungry? How about something to eat?"

Nie Jinmei touched her belly and smacked her lips.

Studying was more tiring than working in the fields. It had only been a short while when she felt extremely hungry again.

Song Zhi also felt it, swallowed unconsciously, and looked at Nie Jinmei eagerly.

"So what are we going to eat?"

The three of them looked at Ran Qiu at the same time.

The latter pursed his lips helplessly and laughed, "How about sweet-scented osmanthus dumplings?"

"Okay, this is good."

Nie Jinmei was the first to agree.

It was freezing and snowy outside, but they ate the hot dumplings, feeling sweet in their mouths and hearts. It was such a treat.

Ran Qiu's smile became gentler.

"Wait."

After saying that, he stood up and walked out.

Nie Jinmei looked at his back and sighed softly, "He's a man who can handle both housework and the living room. I wonder who would be so lucky to marry a man like Teacher Qiu."

Song Zhi blinked and turned to look over, but only managed to see a corner of his clothes.

If Ran Qiu turns evil in the end, I wonder if Nie Jinmei will still think so.

After a while, Ran Qiu came in with a pot of steaming osmanthus dumplings, and the air was filled with a sweet and greasy fragrance.

Nie Jinmei rushed out actively.

"I'll get the dishes."
