When they came out of the hospital, it was already late. They hurried to the bus stop and saw Nie Jinmei and Rong Zhengqing already waiting there with some things in their hands.
"The bus hasn't arrived yet?" Song Zhi glanced at the empty road.
After being out for a whole day, she urgently needs to go home and have a good rest before she can recover.
"No." Rong Zhengqing shook his head. "It should be here soon."
Song Zhi nodded silently, walked over and stood behind them, thinking about what to do next.
Ran Qiu stood beside her, taking in her entire appearance.
"What's wrong?"
"I'm thinking about what to do next." Song Zhi answered very calmly. She lowered her voice and explained to Ran Qiu.
"In the next few months, you and Jinmei should prepare for the exam. I plan to rent a house in another village."
Although she didn't say it explicitly, Ran Qiu understood what she meant.
She is preparing to go to another village to give birth.
He frowned and looked at her with immediate disapproval.
"No, it's not safe for you to live alone."
Hearing this, Song Zhi said nothing.
She couldn't just leave the child in Dongyang Village. She was already familiar with the village, and it would be difficult to hide it.
"I'll go with you." Ran Qiu had obviously thought of this as well. Seeing Song Zhi's face full of worry, he immediately said.
Song Zhi looked at him helplessly, sighed softly, and asked: "Then there will be no one to take care of Dabao and the other three. You can't follow me around everywhere. Besides, I'm not a child. I can take care of myself."
Ran Qiu pursed his lips tightly, the worry in his dark eyes still remained, but when he thought of his three children at home, he really had no choice at the moment.
He couldn't abandon Dabao and the others, but he also couldn't bear to let Song Zhi live outside alone.
"What are you two whispering about in the back?"
At this moment, Nie Jinmei came up to the two of them and said with a dissatisfied look on her face.
"Nothing."
Song Zhi shook his head lightly.
Just at this moment, the bus arrived, interrupting Nie Jinmei's curious question.
Several people quickly boarded the bus.
Song Zhi gave the task of finding a house to Ran Qiu.
It took him three full days to finally help Song Zhi find a nice house in a place called Ashun Village.
"Is it far from here?" Song Zhi asked.
She wanted to be farther away from here, but was afraid it would be too far. If it was too far, it would be difficult for her to move there. If it was too close, she was afraid that the news of her childbirth would spread back.
"It's not far, it's in the next village. But there's a big river between our two villages, so we don't usually come into contact with each other."
Ran Qiu seemed to be able to see through her heart, and said at this moment.
This made Song Zhi extremely surprised, and he immediately pulled Ran Qiu.
"Then take me to see the house."
The two soon arrived at Ashun Village. Just as Ran Qiu described, Ashun Village was right next door. There was a turbulent river between the two villages. Although they were close to each other, they did not disturb each other.
Song Zhi went to see the house with Ran Qiu and was very satisfied.
The two-bedroom, one-living room house is clean and bright, and looks like a newly built house. It also has a small yard.
Although the yard is not very big, it is more than enough for daily living.
The house was not only clean and tidy, but also fully furnished with everything she needed. She only needed to move in with her luggage.
The most important thing is that in this Ashun Village, no one knows me.
"This is it." Song Zhi decided immediately.
This house completely meets her requirements and there is nothing to complain about.
Ran Qiu looked at her cheeks which were slightly red with satisfaction, and seemed to be hesitant to speak.
He pinched his palms, his mind sank, and finally he spoke out the words.
"Do you really want to stay here alone? It's okay for you to stay at my house. I still say what I said before. No matter who the father of the child is, I will treat them as my own children..."
However, before he could finish his words, Song Zhi interrupted him.
"Ran Qiu, I appreciate your kindness, but this has nothing to do with you. I don't want to affect your reputation. I'm already prepared, even if I'm alone, it doesn't matter. You don't have to worry too much about me."
Ran Qiu opened his mouth, wanting to say that he didn't care at all, but Song Zhi didn't give him a chance to speak. He said, "Okay, let's not talk about this anymore. This house is really nice. I wonder where the owner is? Let's go and talk about renting it."
The words that Ran Qiu hadn't spoken out were forced to get stuck in his throat, and he felt extremely uncomfortable.
But he knew in his heart that Song Zhi had already made up her mind, and even if he said it out loud, it would not change anything.
Seeing that she really liked the house, Ran Qiu took her and quickly went to the owner to rent the house.
Although she didn't let him stay with her, Ashun Village was not far from home, so he could find an excuse to come and take care of her.
Having accomplished such an important task, Song Zhi felt much more relaxed and walked back with a brisk pace.
As soon as they arrived home, they saw Nie Jinmei and Rong Zhengqing playing shuttlecock kicking with three little ones in the yard.
Before they even entered the house, they heard laughter coming from the yard.
Seeing them return, Nie Jinmei smiled ambiguously, glanced at them, and jokingly asked, "Where have you been again? Why do you two always leave us and act alone lately?"
"I didn't do anything." Song Zhi answered calmly.
She planned to tell everyone that she was moving out during dinner tonight.
