Chapter 53 She doesn’t want to owe Tang Junhe this favor.

The wolf took a tentative step towards her, which scared Song Zhi so much that her scalp tightened and her legs began to tremble uncontrollably. She tried her best to control her panic-stricken breathing, quickly squatted down, picked up the stone, and held it tightly in her hand.

"Get out of here, or I'll smash you to death!"

Song Zhi held the stone and stared at the wolves fiercely.

But this time, the wolf obviously didn't buy it.

Her behavior only angered them.

They let out a few muffled roars and rushed towards her.

Song Zhi quickly dodged to the side, but a wolf still bit the corner of his clothes and pulled him to the ground.

Fortunately, she was wearing warm clothes, so the wolf didn't bite her flesh at once.

She grabbed the stones and smashed them randomly, hoping to drive away the wolves around her.

But it didn't help at all.

The wolves were starving, and their obsession with food meant they would never give up the prey in front of them easily.

Soon, Song Zhi, who was exhausted, was knocked down by a wolf.

The wolf was pressing on her, its sharp fangs right next to her neck. Song Zhi used a stone to block it, but her heart was completely cold.

She gave a sad, bitter laugh.

She could hold off one wolf, but there were four or five more nearby. How could she possibly hold them off?

After living a new life, I didn't expect that I would be bitten to death by a wolf in this wilderness, and my body would be torn to pieces.

Seeing several wolves coming towards her with their sharp and ferocious fangs bared, Song Zhi's blood seemed to freeze and she closed her eyes resignedly.

Suddenly a gunshot rang out in the air.

Song Zhi only felt a warm liquid spraying on her face. She suddenly opened her eyes and saw that the wolf that had just pressed her down fell beside her with a huge bloody hole on its neck.

A tall and slender figure flew down and pulled the frightened Song Zhi behind him.

Song Zhi's face was pale and her lips were trembling. The warmth on her wrist made her regain her sanity. She raised her head and saw Tang Junhe, wearing a military coat and with a serious expression, standing in front of her, staring at the wolves in front.

He killed one wolf, but there were still four around.

The smell of blood completely aroused the wolves' animal nature. The green light in their eyes became brighter than before, and they kept growling around the two people.

Song Zhi's whole body was shaking uncontrollably, her face turned extremely pale with fear, her palms were full of sticky sweat, and her legs seemed to be nailed to the ground, unable to move.

"I'll fire a gun to distract them. Find a chance and run down the mountain."

Tang Junhe let go of his hand, and while paying attention to the wolves in front of him who were eyeing him hungrily, he spoke to Song Zhi in a low voice.

"What about you?" The disappearance of the warm touch on her wrist made Song Zhixin even more panicked. She subconsciously pinched the corner of his clothes, her little face wrinkled, and asked.

"You run first, I'll cover your rear."

Tang Junhe turned his wrist and pointed the black muzzle of the gun at the wolves in front. A strong murderous intent quickly surged across Qingjun's face.

"No, let's go together." Song Zhi bit her lower lip tightly.

She didn't want to owe Tang Junhe this favor.

"Now is not the time to be willful, otherwise, neither of us can leave." His face instantly turned cold.

As they were talking, the wolf in front of them suddenly howled, and the other wolves seemed to have received some kind of instructions and quickly pounced on them.

Song Zhi was pushed away by Tang Junhe.

"Run, don't look back!"

With a cold face, he quickly pulled the trigger, and the bullet flew out of the air and hit one of the wolves.

The wolf howled in pain and fell to the ground.

The smell of blood in the air made the other wolves look even more brutal.

Tang Junhe's face turned dark. It was too dark, and the wolf he had just hit was not the leading wolf.

Before he could fire the next shot, the leading wolf growled and pounced on him, knocking him to the ground and biting his neck.

Tang Junhe turned his head to avoid the attack, but was still bitten on the shoulder by the wolf king.

The sharp wolf fangs penetrated his clothes and bit through his skin. It seemed as if a bloody hole appeared on his shoulder in an instant, and blood gushed out continuously.

Tang Junhe groaned in pain and pressed his hands tightly against the wolf king's chest.

Out of the corner of his eye he saw the other wolves approaching with their teeth bared after seeing the wolf king succeed, and his muscles suddenly tensed up.

The wolf king was too strong, and he was now desperately resisting its attack, and had no extra hands or feet to deal with other wolves.

Suddenly, with a "whoosh" sound, a sharp knife suddenly pierced the wolf king's neck, and the hot wolf blood splattered on Tang Junhe's face.

He was stunned for a moment, and when he raised his eyes, he saw Song Zhi holding a sharp knife in his hand. He pounced on the wolf king with bloodshot eyes, swung the sharp knife, and stabbed the wolf king several times fiercely, completely severing the wolf king's carotid artery.

The wolf king was dead, and the remaining wolves stopped in horror. Tang Junhe quickly picked up the gun on the ground and killed one of the wolves. The remaining wolves were frightened and dared not move forward, and ran away whimpering.

The crisis was over, and Song Zhi sat down on the ground exhausted. The hand holding the knife was shaking like a sieve, but she didn't dare to let go.

She looked around vigilantly, fearing that the wolves would come back.

Their eyes met, the air was filled with the smell of blood, and both of them were panting.

Tang Junhe looked at Song Zhi's pale face and asked gloomily, "Why are you still here? Didn't I tell you not to look back?"

She was lucky just now because she killed the wolf king. If she had been unlucky, she would have been eaten by the wolf if she had come back so recklessly.

Song Zhi's lips trembled as she met his gaze and said firmly, "I've already said it before. If we're going to leave, we'll leave together. I don't want to owe you a favor."

Hearing this, Tang Junhe pursed his lips into a line, his eyes darkened, and he stared at Song Zhi for a long while without saying anything.

Suddenly a sharp female voice was heard.

"What happened? Did you encounter a wolf? Is everyone okay?"

It was Rong Zhengqing who had just disappeared to urinate. Seeing the dead wolf on the ground, she hurriedly stumbled over.

When she saw that Tang Junhe was also injured, her lips trembled.

Song Zhi frowned as he looked at Rong Zhengqing, who looked frightened.

"Where did you go to the bathroom? Why are you back just now?"

If he hadn't been waiting for her, Song Zhi wouldn't have encountered the wolf.

Rong Zhengqing's face froze, and he quickly explained, "I accidentally got lost and it took me a long time to get back. I'm really sorry, and I didn't expect you to encounter a wolf."

She kept apologizing with a guilty look on her face, which made Song Zhi reluctant to take it to heart.

Tang Junhe held his shoulder and sat up from the ground. He lowered his eyes to look at Song Zhi and asked, "Are you hurt?"

Song Zhi shook her head. She only had a few scratches on her body, which was not a big deal.

However, his shoulder was bleeding profusely and he had to go down the mountain for treatment immediately.

"Let's go down the mountain quickly." Tang Junhe's face turned pale due to excessive blood loss, and he said in a deep voice.
