Chapter 22 Wen Moxue Saves People

Wen Moxue jogged ahead to go back and make preparations, while Lu Yuan and several other men carried the door panel steadily.

When they carried the person to the Lu family's courtyard, Wen Moxue had already prepared gauze and medicine, and also prepared a basin of warm water.

"Just put the person under the eaves."

The light is better outside than inside.

"Everyone, please move aside and don't block the light."

Those who came to watch the spectacle all eventually ended up here.

When the work teams in the brigade heard about this, they all stopped working and came to watch the excitement.

By this time, the Lu family courtyard was already surrounded by people.

When the Lu family members ran back, they could only crane their necks to look out from outside the courtyard; they couldn't squeeze in at all.

Zhang Yuping smiled and said to everyone, "Make way, let us in first."

When everyone saw that it was the host family, they made way for them.

After finally squeezing in, I saw that Wen Moxue had already treated the wounds of the injured person, and the gauze was already halfway wrapped around the wound.

Upon seeing this, Zhang Yuping slapped her thigh and exclaimed, "Oh dear, what happened to Grandpa Liu? How did he get injured like this? Is he unconscious?"

Lu Yuan casually turned his head, then narrowed his eyes slightly.

What a coincidence, his stepmother is also wearing gray clothes today.

He looked her up and down before casually looking away, without answering her.

Zhang Yuping secretly let out a breath.

The ungrateful look in that ingrate's eyes almost made her fall to the ground.

Wen Moxue ignored Zhang Yuping and breathed a sigh of relief after bandaging Grandpa Liu's head.

"Okay, the bleeding has stopped."

Lu Yuan nodded, checked Grandpa Liu's breathing, and found that the person who had been taking in more air than exhaling had now regained his breathing balance.

He wasn't sure if it was just his imagination, but the man's complexion seemed to gradually become rosy again. He didn't look like someone who had lost too much blood and was unconscious; he looked more like someone who had fallen asleep.

Zhang Yuping asked from the side, "Is Grandpa Liu alright now?"

This was also the question that others wanted to ask, and they all echoed the question.

Wen Moxue said to Lu Yuandao, "The bleeding has only been stopped temporarily. You still need to take him to the clinic for a checkup."

Lu Yuan then called over the men who had been carrying the door panel earlier, and together they carried the person away.

Zhang Yuping stared at the person on the wooden board, lost in thought.

"Mom, what are you looking at?"

Lu Xiaofang stood behind her and asked leisurely.

Zhang Yuping was startled and patted her chest to breathe a sigh of relief.

"You little brat, you scared me to death."

Lu Xiaofang was completely bewildered. What had she done? All she did was call out "Mother," and that was enough to scare her?

"Mom, we have to go back to work. Everyone else has left."

Zhang Yuping looked around and saw that almost everyone in the courtyard had indeed left.

"Okay, let's go."

After taking a couple of steps, I realized my palms were sweaty, so I quickly wiped them on my pants.

As soon as Zhang Yuping left, the rest of the Lu family followed suit.

Before leaving, Lu Guoqing and Lu Xiaoqin glanced at Wen Moxue a couple more times, surprised that she knew medicine and had such skills.

My feelings were very complicated. My good-for-nothing son (elder brother) actually managed to marry such a beautiful and capable wife. He must have accumulated a lot of good karma over eight lifetimes.

Yang Caihong and Sun Ziqiang had even more complicated feelings. One was so jealous that she was almost psychologically twisted, and the other was so sour that she was almost dying of sourness.

Everyone gained a completely new understanding of Wen Moxue.

Knowing a little about medicine is one thing, but having gauze and hemostatic medicine is quite another. It seems Wen Moxue's family is quite well-off.

The two of them were probably plotting something, their eyes darting around nervously.

They exchanged a glance and, with perfect understanding, left the Lu family courtyard one after the other.

In the end, only the female educated youth Hongxia remained.

"Mo Xue, you're amazing! You even know medicine."

Wen Moxue packed her things and smiled slightly.

"I don't know anything about medicine, I only know a little about first aid."

"That's really impressive; it can save lives in critical moments," Hong Xia praised sincerely.

The two chatted for a few more minutes before Hongxia went to work.

After packing her things, Wen Moxue closed the courtyard gate and went back inside.

She really needed to take a nap. She had just lain down and dozed off when there was a commotion outside. Hearing words like "something big has happened," she was startled, thinking that Lu Yuan's secret hunting and selling of animals last night had been exposed.

I quickly got out of bed and followed the people to the abandoned house at the foot of the mountain. It turned out to be a serious matter, a matter of life and death.

Fortunately, she had something on her, otherwise Old Liu's life would probably have been in grave danger.

Now that she can be sure the old man won't die, she feels at ease.

I yawned, found a comfortable position, and quickly fell asleep.

Lu Yuan took the people to the commune's health center, leaving two people behind, and sent the other men to report to the police before returning to the brigade.

Sun Maodou and He Shenghua were left behind, and Lu Yuan didn't expect that the two of them were still so kind-hearted.

"Old Liu from Changhe Brigade, pay the fee."

Hearing the nurse from the health center call out, the three of them looked at each other in bewilderment.

It wasn't because no one knew Old Liu's real name, but because none of the three seemed to have any money on them.

Lu Yuan could tell what was going on just by looking at their expressions.

He hurriedly told the nurse, "Put it in the brigade's account."

Hospitals today are different from those of later generations; there is no situation where patients are refused treatment if they do not pay.

If you are injured on duty, the injury can be recorded in the account of your work unit or commune.

We can see the doctor first and then settle the bill later.

The nurse didn't say anything, turned around and left.

Not long after, the test results came back.

An elderly doctor with white hair came out.

"The patient's injuries were very serious, but fortunately your emergency measures were excellent, and his life has been saved. He will stay in the hospital for two days for observation, and if there are no major problems, he can go home."

Lu Yuan and the other two breathed a sigh of relief.

The doctor said he was an old man, but he was actually only in his forties or fifties.

For some reason, his buzz cut was completely white, even the newly sprouting roots were white.

However, this man was quite handsome and had a gentle demeanor. Even with his white hair, it was easy to tell that he was a handsome young man when he was young.

Now he's a refined and cultured gentleman.

Lu Yuan had a sudden thought that he should be like this now that he's getting older.

"Does your brigade have any skilled barefoot doctors? The bandaging technique is excellent, and the medicine used is also very good," the doctor asked.

Lu Yuan instantly understood that the doctor wanted to know about the medicine.

In an era of scarcity of food and clothing, all kinds of supplies were in short supply, including medicine.

Lu Yuan thought of the hemostatic powder that his fake wife had given to Old Man Liu. The bleeding stopped immediately after the powder was sprinkled on. Such an effective medicine was probably not available in the clinic.

No wonder this doctor is so rare.

He said, "This medicine was brought from home by my wife when she went to the countryside."

"Your wife was a sent-down youth? She's the one who knows medicine? She's the one who treated the wound?"

The doctor's three questions left Lu Yuan completely bewildered.

It seems like this person is not only interested in medicine, but also curious about people!

Yes, yes, yes.

Lu Yuan answered the three questions carefully.
