Lu Yuan had just gone upstairs when he was called back downstairs.
"Tsk, what are you yelling about here? Why don't you take your wife to the hospital?" Lu Yuan looked at the helpless man with disdain.
Yu Xuejian pleaded, "Comrade Lu, I'm holding the child, could you please help me take Xiaoyu to the hospital?"
Lu Yuan looked at him incredulously. He wanted him to deliver it?
She took the child from him and said, "I'll come back and hold the child myself later."
He even kindly reminded her, "When you take your wife to the hospital, remember to also register yourself for a neurology appointment."
After saying that, he went upstairs without looking back.
"What happened? Why did you bring the child back?" Mo Yitao asked.
Lu Yuandao said, "My sister-in-law suddenly fainted, and my brother-in-law needs to take her to the hospital, but it's inconvenient to do so with the child."
"Are you alright? How did you faint?" Mo Yitao asked.
"He should be fine!" Could he say that the other person had fainted from anger?
He handed the child to Mo Yitao, who was already asleep. Mo Yitao carried the child to the room. When she came out, she heard them talking about the house.
"It's a small courtyard, I didn't look closely. There are three or four rooms, with a front and back yard. It's on Dongxin Road. We arranged to go see the house this evening," Lu Yuan said.
"You found out about the house so quickly? I was thinking of asking around with those old acquaintances after they get off work tonight. In that case, let's go take a look at the house you mentioned first," Wen Shengtuo said.
Mo Yitao reminded her, "We're going to the Jiefang Hotel for dinner with my older brother and his family tonight. Do you have time to go see them?"
This was arranged by the other party when Wen Shengtao delivered things to Uncle Mo this morning, to welcome Lu Yuan and Wen Moxue back home.
Wen Shengtao said, "Just go and check it when you come back after dinner."
With the matter settled, the group prepared to pack up and head to the Liberation Hotel. It was quite a distance, and with so many people and children, Lu Yuan decided to drive.
With three children, we always carry a lot of bags and packages wherever we go, including three sets of bottles, bowls, spoons, spare clothes, diapers, and so on.
Now there's another child, and neither Mo Yitao nor Wen Shengtao wants to take care of him.
“Go to the Yu family and send the child back to them,” Mo Yitao said.
So, Lu Yuan first drove to the Yu family's house, left the child with his grandparents, then went to the machine tool factory to pick up Wen Qihang, and then went to the department store to pick up his girlfriend.
Lu Yuan and Wen Moxue were meeting their future sister-in-law for the first time, and their first impression was quite good. The girl had short, ear-length hair, looked capable and pretty, and wore a white shirt tucked into dark blue work pants that accentuated her well-proportioned figure. When she smiled, her eyes crinkled, and she always spoke in a light and cheerful tone, revealing a set of neat, white teeth.
"Xiaoxue, this is for you."
When Wen Qihang delivered things to their family in the morning, he learned that his sister-in-law's family had returned to Hangzhou, so he went out of his way to buy things for the three children during the day.
There were three longevity locks. Although they were made of silver, each of these engraved silver locks with the words "Longevity" would cost 15 to 18 yuan, so three of them would cost around 50 yuan. That's probably more than her monthly salary, so it's quite a generous gift.
Wen Moxue sincerely thanked her, "Thank you, sister-in-law!"
Qu Wenjing blushed deeply at being called "sister-in-law."
When they arrived at the restaurant, Uncle Mo's family was already there. Mo Mingde and Lin Yue'e had two sons. Their eldest son, Mo Zihong, was 24 years old and married to Zhou Yan. They had been married for two years but still didn't have children. Their younger son, Mo Ziyang, was 21 years old and still single.
The Mo family was very welcoming. They greeted them with smiles and vied to hold the three children. In the end, the Mo family, including the Mo couple and Zhou Yan, each held one child, while Mo Zihong and Mo Ziyang played with them on the side.
"Oh my, they're all so cute! All three look exactly alike, how are we supposed to tell them apart?" Lin Yue'e said.
Mo Yitao smiled and said, "Da Bao has a small mole on the left side of his eyebrow, Er Bao has a small mole on the right side, and San Bao doesn't."
Everyone looked closely and said, "Luckily, she has a mole, otherwise we wouldn't have recognized her."
"Let's go inside first, don't just stand at the door chatting," Lin Yue'e reminded.
Everyone went inside, and Mo Mingde had booked a private room. Mo Yitao asked, "Aren't the private rooms here supposed to be booked in advance? How did you manage to book a room at the last minute?"
"It was your older brother who asked a colleague for help," Lin Yue'e said with a smile.
Lu Yuan had heard them mention the Liberation Hotel before, but upon arriving here, he realized that it was none other than the renowned Tianxianglou Restaurant from later generations. It was one of the three most famous restaurants in Hangzhou, known for its Dongpo pork and Longjing shrimp.
Upon arriving at the private room, everyone took their seats. The table was just the right size, and the dishes had already been ordered. As soon as everyone sat down, the waiters began serving the food.
They clearly went all out today, ordering over a dozen dishes, filling the entire table.
The restaurant offers a variety of signature dishes, including Dongpo pork, beggar's chicken, braised pork with dried vegetables, Longjing shrimp, West Lake vinegar fish, and silver fish soup. This meal would likely cost an average worker one to two months' wages.
"This is such a lavish meal; you've gone to so much trouble, Uncle and Aunt," Lu Yuan said politely.
"It's no trouble at all. It's rare for you and Xiaoxue to come back, so we, as elders, should show our appreciation," Lin Yue'e said.
"For the sake of this food, I will bring my wife and children back to Hangzhou more often in the future."
"Haha, yes, come back often in the future. Whatever you like to eat, your uncle will take you there," Mo Mingde said happily.
Everyone ate, chatted, and played with the children, creating a very harmonious atmosphere.
After the meal, Lin Yue'e took out the gifts for the three children: three small gold locks, which cost a lot of money, at least a couple hundred yuan. Zhou Yan prepared silver bracelets, which would also cost several tens of yuan for three.
Lu Yuan and Wen Moxue were generous to them, so they naturally couldn't be stingy with their own.
Even Mo Ziyang bought toys for the three little ones, a whole bag full of toys such as rattles, cloth tigers, tin bells, and plastic wind-up ducks.
