Chapter 238 Even More Nonsense Than Her

The people on the ground were still groaning. Lu Yuan walked over and looked down at them, his tone icy, "Are you tired of living? Coming to the Wen family to cause trouble?"

Seeing that Aunt Qu didn't speak, none of the Qu family members took the lead, unaware that Aunt Qu wanted to shout, but they couldn't make a sound.

“Mom and Dad, older brother, this family is acting like thugs, extorting money and seizing other people’s houses. We absolutely cannot tolerate this. I think we should send them to the police station.”

Wen Shengtao and Wen Qihang's lips twitched when they heard these charges.

“You’re right, we can’t let this go, let’s send him to the police station,” Wen Shengtao said.

The Qu family breathed a sigh of relief. As long as they weren't beaten further, it was fine. With Lu Yuan around, it was clear they were powerless to fight back. Even if they were taken to the police station, they would still be the ones being beaten, the victims, and they certainly wouldn't be the ones suffering the consequences.

Lu Yuan asked the furniture delivery staff to help him take the people to the police station and gave each of them a pack of Daqianmen cigarettes. The group was overjoyed, and Lu Yuan and Wen Qihang went along as well.

The people above were lifted up, and Aunt Qu finally felt like she had come back to life. She was both angry and scared. This was the first time she had suffered such a loss. She felt like she had almost lost her life. She looked at Lu Yuan with some fear and became more obedient for the time being.

Upon arriving at the police station, Aunt Qu felt as if the police officers were her family's support, and she started wailing and crying loudly, slapping her thigh.

"Police officers, you must help us! This son-in-law of the Wen family is trying to kill someone! I almost lost my life to him just now."

"What happened?" the police officer asked.

Lu Yuan handed his work ID to the police officer for a look before explaining the whole story, embellishing some parts of it.

“Officer, this group of people first plotted to frame my brother-in-law, trying to have physical contact with him. This is not only a frame-up, but also harassment.”

"Later, they tried to cling to my brother-in-law by claiming that their pants were torn, and even forced him to break off the engagement and marry their daughter."

This violates the principle of freedom of marriage. Our leaders have long said that even parents are not allowed to arrange marriages; we advocate free love. What difference is there between their behavior and outright robbery?

"Furthermore, they broke into my home and said that after my brother-in-law married their daughter, he would move out of the machine tool factory's staff quarters and give the house allocated to my father-in-law's workplace to his son for his wedding. They said that the house would then be considered as a dowry for their daughter."

"Officer, wouldn't this be considered misappropriation of someone else's property?"

Aunt Qu was dumbfounded; this person could actually spout even more nonsense than she could.

"You're talking nonsense! So many people saw my daughter getting involved with Wen Qihang and ruining her reputation. If he doesn't take responsibility, who will? If he doesn't take responsibility, then he's just being a scoundrel."

"And what about the house? Once you're married, you're family. Shouldn't family members help each other? The Wen family has another house to live in, while our family is struggling financially and has poor housing. Shouldn't we give up our house to Wenhao?"

Hearing this, Lu Yuan shrugged and smiled helplessly at the police officers, "You see, that's how unreasonable they are. The worst part is that they brought their whole family to our door, pointing fingers and telling us to vacate the house immediately. If we didn't agree, they would just take action."

"You're talking nonsense! You guys were the ones who started it."

"So many neighbors were watching. It was your husband and son who rushed over to hit me, that's why I fought back."

He didn't mention at all that he had kicked Aunt Qu over.

But Aunt Qu hadn't forgotten about it; her stomach still hurts. "You kicked me first, that's why my husband and son were about to beat you up."

"I kicked you because you hit my mother-in-law. I couldn't just stand by and watch you beat her. I tried to pull you away for a long time but you wouldn't budge. You were grabbing my mother-in-law and beating her to death. I had no choice but to kick you away."

Now it was Aunt Qu's turn to be dumbfounded. They never expected that this seemingly upright person would lie through her teeth.

Even Wen Qihang was a little surprised and turned his head away uncomfortably, worried that someone would notice his strange behavior.

Seeing the Qu family's behavior, the police officers assumed they had no rebuttal and concluded that the Qu family had started the fight.

By the time the Qu family tried to say something, it was too late; the police officers had already grown impatient with their nonsense.

"We will investigate this matter thoroughly. Comrade Lu and Comrade Wen, you can go back first. We will send someone to inform you of the results."

The Qu family was dumbfounded.

"Hey, why release them but lock us up? We've been beaten, almost to death, and we're all injured. We haven't even asked them for compensation yet, how can you release them?" Aunt Qu shouted frantically.

Unfortunately, when they had their injuries examined, none of them had any problems. The police became increasingly convinced that the Qu family was not telling the truth and were just trying to extort money from them.

And so, Lu Yuan and Wen Qihang left the police station first, while the entire Qu family was arrested and detained at the police station.

"Officers, you can't protect the real criminals. Did they bribe you to not arrest the people who beat people, but instead arrest us?"

The police officers were furious. This family had done something wrong but showed no remorse. They thought it was all other people's fault and only knew how to shift the blame onto others. Now they were even trying to shift the blame onto the police.

They must be severely punished.

The entire Qu family was taken to the police station, and the old woman's family members temporarily quieted down and dared not cause any more trouble. Qu Wenjing's family finally found peace.

Then the police came to investigate the circumstances of tearing the trouser leg, and the Qu family learned that Aunt Qu's family had gone to the Wen family to cause trouble.
