The Liang Guobin incident continued to escalate, affecting everything. The files in the basement all became evidence, and the staff in Hangzhou were all on edge. After four or five days of investigation and a major reshuffle, the matter gradually calmed down.
The fact that many people were removed from their posts meant that many others were promoted as well. Yan Keqin's advancement was within Lu Yuan's expectations, because Lu Yuan had written a letter of complaint against him, which led to Yan Keqin becoming a member of the investigation team.
Lu Yuan thought that he and Yan Keqin were on good terms, and that Yan Keqin's further efforts would benefit both the Wen and Mo families, at least more than if someone else had gotten the credit.
The main reason he avoided Uncle Mo was because of Liang Guobin's identity as a spy. There were definitely more than just one person with the surname Liang with such an identity; there were others in the shadows. Lu Yuan didn't want his uncle Mo to be in danger.

Lin Yue'e instructed her daughter-in-law, "Xiao Yan, take the child out to play."

"Xiaoyan, tell Xiaohui to give the tiger plush toy back to Erbao so he can play with his own."
Zhou Yan quickly did as instructed, but little Yu Zhenghui wanted the second child. Helpless, Zhou Yan looked at Wen Moxue with pleading eyes, hoping she would persuade the triplets to back down.
Wen Moxue pretended not to see it. Why should her child suffer for someone else's child?
The tiger doll was made by her and her mother-in-law a long time ago for their three children. Her mother-in-law also embroidered the words "Da Bao, Er Bao, San Bao" on each doll. The three children could identify their dolls by the different words and never fought over them.
When little Yu Zhenghui arrived, Wen Moxue saw that he liked it too, so she kindly made one for him as well, only without embroidering any words. But the child just didn't like hers; he preferred Da Bao and Er Bao's. Every time they played, he would either take Da Bao's or Er Bao's.
Zhou Yan could also see that Wen Moxue was unwilling to back down, so she awkwardly went to coax little Yu Zhenghui again.
