Chapter 378 Sanbao and the Seven Calabash Brothers

“Yes, I came to see your uncle,” Lu Guoan replied.

Wei Wenshu said, "My uncle and the others went up the mountain to chop firewood."

Today, none of the team members have to work. They can finally rest for a day in their cowshed. During their rest time, they need to go up the mountain to get more firewood.

Her mother and the aunt next door also went up the mountain, not to chop firewood, but to gather herbs.

Lu Guoan said, "Go up the mountain quickly and call them back. Tell them that a leader has come and wants to see them."

Wei Wenshu nodded in agreement, glanced at the several leaders-looking people behind him, and then hurried off towards the back of the mountain.

Lu Guoan turned to the people behind him and invited them, “Leaders, since Comrade Wei and the others have gone up the mountain, they certainly won’t be back for a while. Why don’t we go to the brigade headquarters and rest for a bit?”

The group had no objections and followed him to the brigade headquarters.

This time, Lu Yuan didn't go with them, but went straight home via the path from the cowshed.

What he didn't know was that a group of adorable little kids were frantically looking for him at the threshing ground.

“Your father isn’t here. He went to the cowshed with the brigade leader and a few other leaders.”

Zhang Yong'an watched as Sanbao led a string of gourd-shaped gourds running around the threshing ground, and kindly told them Lu Yuan's location.

Sanbao cupped his hands in thanks, "Thank you, Grandpa Zhang!"

The string of Calabash Brothers following behind also followed suit, cupping their hands in thanks and saying in unison, "Thank you, Grandpa Zhang!"

Zhang Yong'an waved his hand with a smile, "You're welcome!"

With a wave of his hand, Sanbao sent a group of little ones running after him towards the cowshed.

These little guys are the center of attention wherever they go, and the people on the threshing ground look at them with eyes full of affection as they watch their backs.

"Oh my, these kids are getting better and better as they grow up. They're so good at growing up, they've inherited all the best features from A-Yuan and A-Yuan's wife."

"Who can argue with that? They're not only good-looking, but they're all incredibly smart."

The kids were used to such praise; they felt that people were being a bit too modest.

To be precise, they should be the most beautiful, smartest and cutest children in the world.

"Big brother, you have to have a good talk with Dad this time. He actually secretly took the sisters out of the house. They're so pretty, what if bad guys steal them away?"

Wu Bao, with his short legs, ran quickly behind San Bao, not forgetting to nitpick at their dad.

The others echoed this sentiment, all agreeing that their eldest brother should discipline their father.

Just as Sanbao agreed, they ran into Lu Guoan and several leaders. With a wave of his hand, the little guys immediately stopped.

Sanbao stepped forward and greeted, "Greetings, Uncle! Greetings, leaders!"

A group of children behind them shouted in unison, "Hello, Uncle! Hello, leaders!"

Without waiting for an answer, Sanbao asked again, "Uncle, where's my dad? Didn't he come with you? Where did he take my two younger sisters?"

Didn't Grandpa Zhang just say that his dad was with him too?

The others followed suit, asking in unison, "Uncle, where's our father?"

Lu Guoan looked at this and meowed at that with great interest, his old face beaming with a smile.

“Your dad went back.”

Sanbao immediately realized that his father must have taken the back road home.

The little boy clasped his hands in a fist salute and said, "Thank you for telling me, Uncle! Goodbye, Uncle, and goodbye, leaders."

The seven gourd brothers said in unison again, "Thank you for telling us, Uncle. Goodbye, Uncle. Goodbye, leaders."

As soon as they finished speaking, it was as if each of their short legs had been fitted with wheels of fire, and they darted away a long distance, quickly disappearing from sight.

Lu Guoan turned around with a grin, put his hands behind his back, and continued walking forward, starting to show off.

"Leaders, let me tell you, these kids are something else. Putting aside their good looks and politeness, the key is that they are smart."

"The four older ones may be only six years old, but they've already finished learning all the elementary school material. The four younger ones are no less impressive; they're only four years old, but they've already learned the second-grade textbooks."

"These kids are not only smart, but they're also good at both academics and martial arts. Leader, let me tell you... Leader?"

Where are they?

Where are the people next to them?

When Lu Guoan turned around, he saw that the leaders were already some distance away from him.

No, it's that he's already some distance away from the leaders.

The leaders were still standing there, staring blankly in the direction Sanbao and the others had left.

It turns out he was just talking to himself.

Lu Guoan waved and shouted, "Leaders, it's time to go!"

The leaders, realizing their embarrassment, quickly followed.

One of the leaders asked, "Captain, are all these kids Comrade Lu's?"

Lu Guoan immediately grinned from ear to ear and waved his hand, "That's not true."

The leaders all had an "I knew it" look on their faces. They thought to themselves, "That Comrade Lu looks so young, he couldn't possibly have ten kids."

I reckon the one who led the way just now, and the two picked from the basket earlier, are the real biological children, and the rest are just following the lead child's lead.

Just as I was thinking this, I heard Lu Guoan continue, "One of them is a relative's child, who is being fostered by them. The other seven, along with the two he picked earlier, are all my nephew A Yuan's biological children."

"What? Nine?"

The young man who got off the bus first to strike up a conversation lost his composure and cried out.

The leaders were all dumbfounded and almost lost their composure.

Lu Guoan felt honored, straightened his back, and slightly raised his chin.

"Yes, nine. Triplets, quadruplets, twins. We've been married for eight years, so that's exactly nine!"

"Ah... Comrade Lu is truly blessed!"

Damn, she's incredibly prolific!
