Guo Conglin was speechless; these people hadn't even explained the situation to him.
Seeing that Guo Conglin seemed to have no intention of getting involved, the woman quickly said, "Deputy Manager Lu is indeed a Hong Kong businessman. He is the savior of the chairman of Hong Kong Shengya Group. He came to the mainland to invest."
"Their company has already secured an investment project in Pengcheng, and the project is already underway. They came here these past two days because Mr. Lu's hometown is here, and he wants to come back to pay respects to his ancestors."
"Returning to pay respects to our ancestors?"

Qian Weixin glanced at Lu Yuan, who nodded slightly, understanding in his heart.

The woman frowned and nodded. After thinking for a moment, she realized she couldn't just sit idly by. She had to contact Boss Yang and ask him to put pressure on Pengcheng, and then have the leaders in Pengcheng talk to the local leaders about it.
He asked Lin Pengfei, "Can I borrow your phone?"
Lin Pengfei said, "If it's something urgent, that's fine, but if it's not particularly urgent, please ask this lady to go to the post office to make a call."
"What, you can't even borrow a phone? How much does it cost to make a phone call? I'm not asking you to pay for it, why are you being so stingy?" Guo Conglin scolded.

In this day and age, telephones are not even common, so how could you possibly receive emergency calls so often?

However, the woman didn't understand the intricacies of the situation. Mainly because public telephones were still quite common in Hong Kong, she thought Guo Conglin was simply angry because he couldn't borrow a phone.
She was very understanding. "It's okay. Since it's inconvenient to make a phone call here, I'll just go to the post office to make one."
He then called his two henchmen to leave.
Guo Conglin glared at Lin Pengfei before hurriedly running out of the police station to catch up with the person in front of him.
After everyone left, Lin Pengfei and He Shenghua exchanged a glance and then laughed in unison.
"Alright, I'll head back now. You go ahead with your work," He Shenghua said.
Lin Pengfei smiled and said, "Okay, I'll see you off."
He Shenghua raised his hand to stop him, "No need, I can walk by myself."
He took only two steps before turning back.
"It suddenly occurred to me that you should first contact the farm. Maybe that Guo guy will take it upon himself to call them and have them send the person back."
Lin Pengfei felt that what he said made a lot of sense.
"Okay, I'll call right away."
He Shenghua wasn't in a hurry to leave; she waited for him to call.
Lin Pengfei quickly finished the call, and after hanging up, he said with a smile, "Someone has already given the word."
"Who?" He Shenghua blurted out.
After asking the question, a thought flashed through my mind, and I had a guess.
"Could it be County Chief Qian?"
Lin Pengfei nodded with a smile, "It's him."
He Shenghua understood; if he could think of it, Lu Yuan and Qian Weixin certainly could too.
It's likely that the two of them made a phone call somewhere after they left.
He Shenghua's plan was correct. After leaving the police station, the two of them found a place to make the call. And the place they found was none other than the commune office.
