Chapter 49 Holy crap, who is Sun Ziqiang's son?

When Lu Yuan returned home, Zhang Yuping anxiously greeted him.

"Ah Yuan, you didn't go to the commune?"

Lu Yuan said nonchalantly, "Let's go tomorrow."

Zhang Yuping couldn't wait until tomorrow, fearing that Sun Changsheng might say something he shouldn't have.

"Tomorrow is too late, let's go now, I'll go with you."

Lu Yuan figured he had nothing to do in the afternoon anyway, and if things went as expected, the brigade accountant and his uncle would also go to the commune.

They must have been traveling by oxcart, and they might have hitched a ride along the way.

"Okay, I'll go tell my wife."

To everyone's surprise, Wen Moxue wanted to go to the commune too when she heard that he was going.

"So that I won't be all alone tomorrow."

Wen Moxue carried a small cloth bag. Lu Yuan didn't know what was inside, only that it was a return gift for Gao Weishan.

The three had just reached the village entrance when they heard the sound of an oxcart behind them.

Looking back, Lu Yuan smiled and waved, "Uncle, Accountant Uncle, are you going to the commune? Give us a ride."

Zhang Yong'an stopped the oxcart, and the three of them quickly got on.

We chatted for a bit along the way and arrived at the commune.

Wen Moxue went directly to the health center, while Zhang Yuping pulled Lu Yuan to go to the Revolutionary Committee.

Lu Yuan didn't say anything and followed them to the Revolutionary Committee.

Zhang Yuping didn't dare to go in, so she hid at the corner not far away and watched.

Watching Lu Yuan enter the Revolutionary Committee's gate, I was still puzzled, as he didn't seem to have brought anything with him.

"Hello comrade, I am Lu Yuan from Changhe Brigade. Our brigade leader, Sun Changsheng, has been arrested by you for committing a crime. Accountant Zhang sent me to meet with him. There are some village matters I need to ask him about, otherwise our village work cannot proceed."

Lu Yuan grabbed a staff member as soon as he entered.

"Wait a moment, I'll go report it."

He then went into an office, and soon came out and led him inside as well.

"Comrade Lu, this is our Director Qian."

The man had his hair slicked back and looked to be around thirty-five or thirty-six. He had the air of a leader.

Lu Yuan recognized him at a glance as the man who had gone to the brigade to arrest Sun Changsheng and his gang.

He quickly stepped forward to shake hands, "Hello, Director Qian, I am Lu Yuan from the Changhe Brigade."

Then he repeated what he had just said.

Director Qian was a bit serious. After listening to his words, he gave instructions to the staff member next to him.

"Xiao Lin, take Comrade Lu to see Sun Changsheng."

That's all.

Sun Changsheng was locked in a room by himself. After being away for half a day, he looked like he had aged ten years, and most of his energy and spirit had been drained away.

What are you doing here?

Lu Yuan smiled and said, "Accountant Zhang asked me to ask the team leader if there's any work to be assigned."

He wasn't afraid of being exposed by Zhang Yong'an, because he knew that given Sun Changsheng's current situation, Zhang Yong'an would be avoiding him like the plague and would never come to the Revolutionary Committee to see him.

The work in the brigade is just those tasks; someone can take over, so there's no need to ask him.

Sun Changsheng knew this too, and looked at him darkly, "What exactly are you trying to say?"

Lu Yuan plopped down across from him at the table. "It's nothing, just representing the whole village to come see you. My stepmother said you have a lot of secrets, and it turns out she knows some of them."

Sun Changsheng looked at him with a gloomy expression, feeling that he was there to provoke him, or perhaps on behalf of Zhang Yuping.

"Tell her not to be so smug; she's just a used shoe that's been played with."

It goes without saying who it was, but if the Revolutionary Committee were to ask, he certainly wouldn't admit it was him.

Lu Yuan was startled, but his expression remained unchanged.

These two are indeed problematic; his father is truly being cheated on.

"All you've got left is the ability to slander women."

"Ha, slander? Go ask Zhang Yuping if it's slander."

Lu Yuan curled his lips into a smile. Very good, he now had leverage over Zhang Yuping.

"My stepmother also said..."

He deliberately dragged out his words, whetting Sun Changsheng's appetite, "What did she say?"

Lu Yuan smiled knowingly, "Heh, it's nothing. I came to the commune wanting to ask Ziqiang to come with me to see you, but I didn't run into anyone else, only Aunt Sun. Aunt Sun has had a tough time these past few years."

The previous sentence mentions what Zhang Yuping said, and the next sentence mentions Sun Ziqiang.

This was undoubtedly telling him that what he said was related to Sun Ziqiang.

As for Aunt Sun, he was really just making a casual remark.

Lu Yuan was trying to provoke him, hoping to see his reaction and perhaps figure something out.

Even if he can't figure out anything, it might stir up his resentment towards Zhang Yuping, thus making him reveal more of Zhang Yuping's unknown secrets.

He didn't expect Sun Changsheng's reaction to be so extreme. He suddenly stood up, grabbed his collar, and questioned him with eyes wide with fury.

"What exactly did that bitch Zhang Yuping say to you?"

"I'm telling you, don't go looking for trouble with Ziqiang and Xiuli, or I will never let you get away with it."

Lu Yuan was a little confused, and it took him two seconds to realize that the Xiuli he was talking about was Sun Ziqiang's mother.

Is it appropriate for an older brother to address his younger brother's wife so affectionately?

hiss--

Suddenly, a flash of inspiration struck him, and he seemed to understand what the secret Zhang Yuping had been talking about really was.

If it's really as he thinks, it's not that Sun Ziqiang did anything to bring shame to the entire Sun family, but rather that Sun Ziqiang's identity will bring shame to the Sun family.

Holy crap! Holy crap! Holy crap!

This is absolutely amazing!

Even novels wouldn't dare to write like this.

That Sun Changsheng is a real beast.

Lu Yuan was inwardly frantic with excitement, but his face remained calm and composed. He never expected that something so deadly would actually be blown up.

"Captain, don't get agitated. I'm the only one who knows about Ziqiang right now. The reason I didn't tell anyone directly is to give you a chance. If you can seize the opportunity, I promise to keep this a secret, and I'll also take care of Aunt Sun."
