"Can't you understand human language? Why aren't you leaving?" he said irritably.
Lu Xiaofang's eyes reddened, and she left looking aggrieved.
As soon as everyone left, Lu Xiaoqin poked her head out from the main room door and whispered, "Big brother, come in, I have something to tell you."
Lu Yuan went inside.
"What's up?"
Lu Xiaoqin glanced back towards the gate, still uneasy, and only after confirming that Lu Xiaofang had left did she speak.
"Big brother, I've discovered that big sister has been hiding something from us these past few days."
"Everyone has secrets, that's normal."
"No, I'm worried she'll do something stupid behind our backs."
"Then you should talk to your father."
Lu Xiaoqin looked distressed. "Father hasn't given him a kind look these past few days."

Lu Xiaoqin knew he wouldn't be friendly, but remembering her mother's words of advice, she instinctively wanted to discuss something with this older brother.

What she really wanted to say was whether her mother's situation had caused her to hold a grudge against her older brother and was planning to poison him.
