The morning sunlight streamed through the clinic windows, casting a soft glow on the neatly arranged medicines and equipment. Lin Yue stood before the examination table, her brow slightly furrowed, a hint of seriousness in her eyes. She knew that although the clinic was built, she alone could hardly meet the medical needs of the entire village; training a medical assistant was urgently needed.
Lin Yue wore a crisp white shirt with the cuffs neatly rolled up, giving her a capable and efficient appearance. Her hair was tied in a low ponytail, with a few wisps falling on either side of her face, adding to her gentle charm. She sighed softly, pondering how to select suitable villagers and how to begin training them.
At this moment, Chen Yu walked in, carrying some medical data he had collected from the town. "Yue'er, I found these; I hope they will be helpful in training your assistant." Chen Yu's voice was steady and strong. He placed the data on the table, his gaze falling on Lin Yue, his eyes full of concern. He was wearing a dark blue work uniform, his posture upright, the sunlight shining on his face, outlining his resolute features.
Lin Yue looked up, forcing a smile. "Thank you, Chen Yu. This information is very valuable." She opened the documents, her thoughts gradually becoming clearer as she looked at the contents. "We need to select some responsible villagers with strong learning abilities first." Lin Yue looked at Chen Yu, as if seeking his approval.
Chen Yu nodded in agreement: "That's right, and it has to be something they genuinely want to do for the villagers. We can put out a notice in the village and let interested villagers sign up." His determined look gave Lin Yue confidence.
A few days later, a number of villagers gathered outside the clinic. Some looked curious, while others were full of anticipation. A young woman, her eyes sparkling, whispered to her companion, "I really want to learn how to treat illnesses so I can help everyone." Her companion smiled and nodded, "Me too. I hope we can be selected."
Lin Yue and Chen Yu walked out of the clinic, their hearts filled with emotion as they looked at the enthusiastic villagers before them. Lin Yue cleared her throat and said loudly, "Everyone, please be quiet for a moment. Thank you all for signing up. We are selecting medical assistants this time so that we can better serve the village. But this process will be tough, and you will need to learn diligently. Are you all ready?" Her eyes swept over each villager, her voice clear and resonant.
The villagers nodded in agreement, and one uncle shouted, "Lin Yue, we're not afraid of hard work, so please choose us!" The other villagers echoed his sentiment.
Lin Yue smiled and began to explain the selection criteria: "We need everyone to be patient, meticulous, and able to treat each patient seriously. They also need to be literate so they can learn medical knowledge." As she spoke, she observed the villagers' expressions.
After initial screening, Lin Yue and Chen Yu selected several suitable villagers. Among them was a young woman named Xiaoxuan, who was lively and cheerful and full of curiosity about new things. There was also a young man named Dazhuang, who was strong and helpful, and although he was not very literate, he had a great enthusiasm for learning.
On the first day of training, Lin Yue gathered everyone in the infirmary. Holding a human anatomical model, she began to explain the basic structure of the human body. "Look, everyone, this is the heart. It's like the engine of our body, constantly beating to pump blood for us." Lin Yue's voice was clear and gentle. She pointed to the heart area on the model, her eyes focused intently on the medical assistants.
Xiaoxuan stared intently at the model, her notebook scribbling away. Her brow furrowed and relaxed intermittently, clearly trying to understand what Lin Yue was saying. "Sister Lin Yue, what if your heart gets sick?" Xiaoxuan asked, tilting her head, her eyes filled with curiosity.
Lin Yue smiled and replied, "This is what we need to learn. Different illnesses have different symptoms and treatments, and we need to understand them little by little."
Dazhuang listened with some difficulty, scratching his head and looking at the complex structure on the model with a puzzled expression. But he didn't give up. Instead, he whispered to himself, "I must learn it. I can't let everyone down." He clenched his fist, his eyes becoming determined.
After explaining the human anatomy, Lin Yue began teaching everyone how to use a stethoscope. She picked up the stethoscope and demonstrated: "Put this earplug into your ear, and then place this probe on the patient's chest, and you can hear the heartbeat." She demonstrated as she spoke, her eyes focused and attentive.
An older villager took the stethoscope and nervously followed Lin Yue's instructions. His hands trembled slightly, and beads of sweat appeared on his forehead. "I think I heard it, thump thump thump, it's amazing!" he said excitedly, a childlike smile spreading across his face.
As the training progressed, Lin Yue began teaching everyone the diagnosis and treatment methods for some common ailments. On one occasion, a villager was taken to the clinic because of stomach pain. Lin Yue took this opportunity to give a demonstration.
“Everyone, take a look. There could be many reasons for his stomach pain. We need to ask him about his symptoms first, such as how long he’s been in pain, where the pain is, and whether he has any other discomfort,” Lin Yue said to her assistants while asking the patient questions.
The assistants gathered around, listening and watching attentively. Xiaoxuan stepped forward and, mimicking Lin Yue, asked the patient, "Uncle, does it hurt here? Or somewhere else?" Her voice was gentle, and her eyes were full of concern.
Under Lin Yue's guidance, the team determined that the patient had food poisoning. Lin Yue took out some gastrointestinal medication, handed it to the patient, and advised him to pay attention to his diet. "You see, this is a simple diagnostic process, but every detail is important," Lin Yue told her assistants, hoping they could better grasp the knowledge through practical cases.
