"I didn't expect that a female donor would also practice Zen. I'm sorry." The abbot saw that she was smart and quick-witted, and he felt a little more pity for her. He added, "What the female donor said is very true. I just don't know, since you have opened your celestial eye, can you peek into the secrets of heaven? How is she different from other ordinary people?"
Seeing that he had frightened the abbot, Gu Yunru pretended to be profound and quoted a Buddhist verse he had learned in his previous life: "A thousand rivers have water and a thousand rivers have moons; a thousand miles of sky are cloudless and a thousand miles of sky are cloudless."
This poem, from the "Jiatai Pu Deng Lu" (one of the Buddhist Zen lamp records), means that if there are thousands of rivers, the moon in the sky will be reflected, and if there are no clouds in the sky, the sky will be revealed. It talks about the Zen mind and the Buddha mind. If you want to meditate, all living beings are Zen principles. You only need to let go of the clouds in your heart, and the Buddha will appear.
As expected, the abbot was completely frightened by her. He felt a little surprised and ashamed.
"Although the female donor is young, she has a broad mind and a clear mind. It is not like she is possessed by evil spirits. It is clear that she is helped by God." He sighed, took off the string of Buddhist beads in his hand, and handed it to Gu Yunru. "I hope the female donor will come often in the future to discuss Buddhism with me."
Mrs. Gu on the side couldn't accept this sudden change at all. She stared at Gu Yunru in a daze as she took the Buddhist beads and put them on her hand. She said in disbelief, "Abbot, is she, is she really not possessed by evil spirits?"
"Female donor, be careful what you say. This young donor has a strong Buddhist nature and a clear Zen mind. How could there be any evil spirits? She has opened her celestial eye, and it was also enlightened by the Bodhisattva. This is her blessing."
Madam Gu: "." How could this happen? How could a stupid, dumb, and foolish girl like her win the favor of the Buddha and be enlightened by the gods? If this gets out, won't it make her famous? The current Empress Dowager likes to eat vegetarian food and chant Buddhist scriptures. If she knew that Gu Yunru had such a good fortune, wouldn't she call her into the palace?
No, no, no one else can know! Gu Yunru must marry King Zhao as soon as possible to protect Jun Yao.
"Yunru, if that's the case, then go out for a walk first. I have something else to ask the abbot for help." Mrs. Gu calmed herself and sent her away.
Gu Yunru dodged another cold arrow and was in a good mood. He replied yes and then left.
When Madam Gu saw her walk away, she bowed and said hypocritically, "I see. Thank you very much, Abbot. I hope you will keep your mouth shut about what happened today."
After she finished speaking, she took out a stack of banknotes and handed them to a young monk next to her, saying, "This is the incense money for the temple. If the abbot allows, I will go and worship the Buddha first."
The abbot nodded, thinking that this concerned the girl's reputation, so he stopped talking and started beating the wooden fish again.
As for Gu Yunru, after coming out of the main hall, there was no maid or old woman to pay attention to her, so she followed the sound of water, intending to take a look at the scenery of the Dabei Temple, but she didn't expect to hear a chaotic noise.
"Quick, stop him, stop him!"
"No, Master. I have followed you for more than ten years. Please don't kill me—"
"Master! Master! Don't, don't—"
The screams and sounds of fighting were getting closer and closer. Gu Yunru came from the modern era and had a strong sense of social responsibility. Hearing the wailing, it seemed as if the master was abusing his slave, so she quickened her pace and looked in the direction of the sound.
She turned a corner and saw a young man in gorgeous clothes kneeling on the ground under the waterfall in the back mountain. He was going crazy. His eyes were red and he was holding a long whip, waving it desperately. There was a group of people who looked like officers and soldiers surrounding him. They wanted to catch him, but they were restrained and did not dare to move forward.
Gu Yunru was an expert doctor and could tell at a glance that the man was mad and must have lost his mind at the moment. The servants stopped him because they were afraid that he would go somewhere else and hurt someone. Faced with this situation, if it were in modern times, an injection of anesthetic would be enough, but in ancient times, medical conditions were limited and the treatment could only be simple and rough.
At this moment, she was in an aerial pavilion built on the back mountain of the temple. Because she was high above, she could see the scene below clearly. Gu Yunru looked around, picked up a small stone, aimed at the back of the mad man's neck, and smashed it hard with quick, fierce and accurate moves.
Her eyes were sharp and her strength was just right. The man was hit on the back of the neck and his body suddenly went limp and he fell to the ground.
Well, she is really a sweetheart who is brave and helpful. She just did another good deed, dusted it off, waved her sleeves, and left after the task was done, keeping her credit and fame to herself.
However, before she could shake off the dust on her hands, a deafening wail came from below: "There is an assassin! An assassin is trying to murder the prince! Catch the assassin!"
Gu Yunru: "." She is not, she didn't! She was just doing good things!
Before she could explain, there was a clang and a long sword was placed on her neck.
"Good man, I'm not an assassin - I -" Before she could finish her words, she felt dizzy and the good man behind her had already picked her up and flew down the waterfall, dropping her on the ground.

"It was she who threw the stone to murder the prince! Captain of the guards, how should we deal with her?" the hero asked coldly.
The man called the captain of the guards glanced at her and said directly: "Throw her to the back hill to feed the wolves."
Gu Yunru: “.”
"No, no, you misunderstood, you misunderstood. I'm not an assassin. I just saw him going crazy and wanted to help you!" Gu Yunru defended.
However, they had no intention of listening to her explanation and directly dragged her away to feed the wolves.
"Wait! Wait! I am the fiancée of His Royal Highness Prince Zhao! I am the eldest daughter of the Gu family!" Gu Yunru had no choice but to reveal her identity, hoping that her rumored fiancé and the Gu family would give her some protection.
"Your Highness's fiancée? The eldest daughter of the Gu family?" The chief guard finally reacted. He stopped his subordinates with a gesture, stared at Gu Yunru, and then shook his head. "I have seen the eldest daughter of the Gu family. You are not one. Throw her out!"
