Chapter 151 Zhao's Awakening

"Get out of my way." Yun Xiyue shoved the maid hard.

The maidservant fell heavily to the ground. The maidservants in the inner courtyard were pampered, and this fall caused her to scrape her hands and face, leaving her covered in blood, which looked quite gruesome.

Yun Xiyue felt no pity whatsoever. In her eyes, these maids were no different from livestock. Even if they were injured or died, it wouldn't be a pity.

"Ugh, ugh..." For some reason, when the smell of blood wafted into her nose, she suddenly felt a wave of nausea.

"Miss, what's wrong?" The maid saw Yun Xiyue covering her mouth and vomiting. Ignoring her own pain, she quickly stepped forward to pat her back.

He was in her hands, as was his family. Even if she wanted to kill him, he would have to offer his neck and let her do it.

Yun Xiyue didn't speak, but a look of joy gradually appeared on her face. "Let's go back to the manor."

Maybe I can be saved!

Zhen'an Marquis's Mansion

"Let me out! I want to get out! Yun Qingran, you little bitch, you dare kill me? Yun Xiao, you unfilial son, I'll report you to the Emperor for being unfilial! Yun Qingbi, you unfilial grandson, come and let me out!"

Zhao was locked in the room. She clung to the door, cursing incessantly.

"Mother, please rest, stop scolding." Yunxiao, standing outside the door, felt heartbroken. These past few days, her mother had barely eaten or drunk anything, and had been scolding her family of three without sleep. In just a few days, she had become so thin that she was almost unrecognizable. If this continued, she would collapse sooner or later.

"Father." Yun Qingran returned to the Zhen'an Marquis's residence first to remove the curse from her grandmother.

"Ranran, you're back." Seeing her daughter return, Yunxiao beamed with joy. Then, seeing Jun Molin, she clasped her hands in greeting and said, "Your subject greets Your Highness, the King of Beihan."

"Marquis Zhen'an need not bow to me from now on." Jun Molin helped Yunxiao up with both hands, his attitude gentle and like that of a junior.

Yunxiao knew perfectly well why, and felt a pang of sadness in his heart. "Shufen," he thought, "our family's cabbage has really been eaten by a pig."

Fortunately, this pig is quite good; it's handsome and good to our cabbage.

"Thank you, Your Highness, King of Northern Cold." Yunxiao did not take the opportunity to act like an elder, after all, the relationship between Baicai and Zhu was not yet legitimate.

"Father, open the door." Yun Qingran pointed to the lock on the door.

"Your grandmother might go berserk and hurt you if she sees you, so let's just forget about it," Yunxiao said with some concern.

"Father, don't worry, it's alright, open it." Yun Qingran shook her head and said.

"Then be careful," Yunxiao said to her worriedly.

"OK, I understand." Yun Qingran smiled sweetly.

Yunxiao smiled affectionately at her, then took out his key to open the door.

Jun Molin moved in front of Yun Qingran, standing in her way so he could protect her should any danger arise.

The door opened, and Zhao rushed out as expected. Upon seeing Yun Qingran, she lunged at her menacingly.

Jun Mo raised his hand, extended his index and middle fingers, and touched Zhao's chest. Zhao's eyes rolled back, her body went limp, and she collapsed.

Jun Mo stepped forward, steadied her, and carried her back to her room.

"Mother, Mother!" Yunxiao cried out in distress when she saw Zhao Shi faint. Tears welled up in her eyes.

Although my mother is different now, harboring resentment and framing my family of three, she is still my mother!

"Father, don't worry, Grandmother is fine," Yun Qingran quickly reassured him.

"Really?" Yunxiao wiped away her tears.

“Really.” Yun Qingran explained to him, “Grandmother is behaving this way because she has been cursed. Once the curse is removed, she will return to normal.”

"What? Your grandmother has been cursed!" Yunxiao almost lost his balance.

"Hmm." Yun Qingran nodded, then looked at Xuan Ling, "Aren't you going to make a move?"

“Yes.” Xuanling said, then stepped forward and took out a small bamboo basket from her sleeve. When she opened the basket, a red, thumb-sized insect crawled out.

Xuanling placed the red insect on Zhao's forehead, and the insect began to chirp, its sound resembling that of a cricket. After a while, a similar insect, only a third the size of the red one, crawled out of Zhao's nose.

The baby insects rushed towards their mother, and the two insects embraced each other, as if expressing their longing for each other after being separated.

"This is the larvae. How were they put into the human body?" Yun Qingran asked Xuanling.

According to the description, Princess Zhaohua and Yunxiyue were infected with the Gu without having much contact. Although the worm is not large, it is impossible to put it into a person's body silently.

"The offspring worms are only the size of a pinhead at first. With a gentle tap on the other person's neck, they can burrow into their body," Xuanling explained as she put away the mother and offspring worms.

"I see." Yun Qingran nodded.

"Hmm..." Zhao, lying on the bed, let out a weak moan and then slowly opened her eyes.

Her fierce gaze had vanished, replaced by a calm and gentle one.

She glanced around, and when she saw Yun Qingran, her gaze stopped. She asked, "Are you Ranran?"

“Grandmother, it’s me, Ranran.” Yun Qingran stepped forward, sat on the edge of the bed, and took her hand.

"My Ranran has lost weight and become more beautiful. That's wonderful!" Zhao looked at Yun Qingran's face with satisfaction.

Her biggest worry was that Ranran wasn't pretty and would have difficulty getting married. Even if she did get married, she would definitely be disliked and bullied by her in-laws. So she kept teaching her not to swallow her anger, but she didn't expect that her teaching would make Ranran arrogant and domineering.

"Grandmother, Ranran misses you so much." Perhaps it was because of their bloodline, but Yun Qingran felt like crying when she looked at Zhao Shi.

“Grandmother has been missing her little Ranran, which is why she came to the city. Otherwise, I would never have wanted to come to the city,” Zhao said lovingly, stroking Yun Qingran’s face.

"Grandmother loves Ranran the most." Yun Qingran snuggled into Zhao's arms.

Everyone present was deeply moved by the sight of the loving relationship between the grandmother and grandson.

"Mother, this is His Highness the King of Beihan." Although the scene was very touching, etiquette could not be neglected. Yunxiao wiped away her tears and introduced Jun Molin to Zhao Shi.

"This is His Highness the Prince of Beihan. He is truly handsome." Madam Zhao looked at Jun Molin and her eyes lit up when she saw his appearance and demeanor.

This was the first time she had ever met a man who was more handsome than her husband, son, and grandson.

"You flatter me, Madam." Jun Molin smiled slightly, cupped his hands, and gave Zhao a junior's greeting.

"How old is the King of Northern Cold? Is he married?" Zhao asked.

Such a handsome man, it's a shame he's not the son-in-law of the Yun family!

"Mother." Yunxiao quickly spoke up. Her mother was too bold, actually asking about the age and marital status of His Highness the Prince of Beihan directly.

"I am only twenty-four years old and unmarried, but I do have someone I admire." Jun Molin said this last sentence, looking at Yun Qingran with loving eyes.

Yun Qingran blushed and quickly looked up as if counting clouds!
