The first thing Yun Qingran did after leaving the palace was to find Ying Yu. She wanted to bring the Shadow Guards with her on this trip to Southern Chu, just in case.
"If Master commands, I will obey without hesitation." Ying Yu immediately agreed when he heard that Yun Qingran wanted to take the Shadow Guards with her.
The Shadow Guards are death guards; once their master gives them a command, they will go even if it means facing mountains of knives and seas of fire, without fear.
"Yes, thank you for your hard work." Yun Qingran nodded and said to Ying Yu, "Let the brothers relax for these three days, we'll set off in three days."
"Yes, Master." Eagle Feather nodded.
After leaving Yingyu, Yun Qingran went to Gagaxiang.
"Miss, what brings you here today?" Zhang San greeted Yun Qingran with delight.
"Third son, I am ordered to escort a bride to Southern Chu for a while. During this time, please take good care of Gaga Xiang," Yun Qingran said.
"Miss, are you going to Southern Chu? Will it be dangerous?" Zhang San asked worriedly.
"No, I'm going to Nan Chu to escort the bride openly and honestly. If anything happens to me, Nan Chu won't be able to explain themselves. So Nan Chu will protect me well," Yun Qingran said.
"That seems to be true." Zhang San felt relieved after hearing this.
"Zhang San, I'd like to ask you for two more favors," Yun Qingran said.
"Miss, just tell me what you need, and I'll definitely take care of it for you." Zhang San is now a die-hard fan of Yun Qingran. He would believe it even if Yun Qingran said the sun rose in the west, and he would support that statement.
Yun Qingran looked around to make sure no one was there, and then said softly, "The first thing you need to do is find me some skilled craftsmen. These craftsmen must be honest and discreet."
She plans to find an opportunity to dig out the treasure of Crimson Dragon Peak.
"Okay, I've got it." Zhang San nodded. Although he didn't know why the young lady wanted to find a craftsman, he was determined to find one for her according to her requirements.
Yun Qingran looked around again, listening intently to make sure no one was around, before speaking softly, "The second thing is, you need to keep this safe for me. Remember, you absolutely cannot lose it. If anyone asks, just pretend you don't know anything. You absolutely cannot admit to knowing it, even if you're beaten to death."
After saying that, Yun Qingran quietly slipped the treasure key, which was wrapped in cloth, into Zhang San's arms.
The key to the treasure is of paramount importance; once it becomes known to the world, it will cause turmoil in the four kingdoms. After all, such a vast treasure could potentially allow whoever obtains it to unify the world.
When Wuyuan first got the key, he didn't see it, but who knows if Wuyuan would guess that he had the key to the treasure? And those boatmen and other random people also knew that he had subdued the Rock Cave King Serpent. What if they made random guesses and figured out that he had the key to the treasure?
One should not harbor malicious intent, but one must be wary of others. In short, it's not safe to carry the keys yourself.
Giving it to my father or brothers isn't safe either; they are my closest relatives, and people would definitely investigate them. Giving it to Zhang San is the safest and most reassuring option.
"Okay, Miss, don't worry." Zhang San patted the key he was holding to his chest.
"San'er, this thing is really important, extremely important. You absolutely cannot lose it. If you lose it, don't blame me for cutting you up into slices." Yun Qingran solemnly reminded Zhang San again.
"Don't worry, Miss, it's here as long as I'm here, and it'll still be here even if I'm not," Zhang San promised firmly.
"San'er, keep it up!" Yun Qingran clenched her fist to encourage him.
"Okay, keep it up!" Zhang San nodded. What did "keep it up" mean? Did she add rapeseed oil or butter? The young lady always suddenly blurted out some strange words.
After leaving Gaga Xiang, Yun Qingran finally returned to the Zhen'an Marquis's residence.
"Mommy, you're back!" As soon as she got home, the two little ones ran towards her.
"Yes, you're back. Did you have fun today?" Yun Qingran picked them up, one in each arm.
"I'm so happy! My great-grandmother took us to the street to play, and we bought some toys." Jun Yanyan smiled, her eyes crinkling into crescent moons.
"Mother, are you tired after being out all day?" Jun An'an asked with concern.
"I'm not tired." Yun Qingran shook her head, then said to them, "Yan Yan, An An, Mother has some bad news to tell you."
"What news?" Jun Yan Yan looked a little scared.
“Mother may have to leave the capital for a while,” Yun Qingran said.
"Mother, you're leaving the capital for a while!" Jun An'an said reluctantly.
"There's no other way, Mother is also reluctant to leave you. But I have to go," Yun Qingran said, pouting.
“Mother, go ahead. We’ll be good and stay with Great-Grandmother,” Jun Yanyan said.
"Good children, Mommy will bring you gifts when she comes back." Yun Qingran kissed the two children.
"Okay." The two children happily nestled in her arms.
When Yunxiao and Yun Qingbi returned home that evening and found out, they were surprised and worried. After Yun Qingran explained the situation, the two were relieved.
"Yun Xiyue is such a nuisance. We've already come this far, and I still have to trouble you." Yun Qingbi said with great disgust when she mentioned Yun Xiyue.
"Ranran, it's a good thing that you can share my burdens, but please be careful on the road and take good care of yourself." Yunxiao looked at Yun Qingran with teary eyes. This was the first time his daughter had left him since she went to the countryside.
I want to cry! [crying] [crying]
"Yes, Father, don't worry, I will. You all take good care of yourselves at home." Yun Qingran nodded with tears in her eyes.
Having been in this world for so long, she had long regarded Yunxiao as her father.
With everything prepared, on the third day, the wedding delegation set off. Not only the Southern Chu delegation, but also the Eastern Qi and Western Yan delegations departed to prepare for their respective homelands.
