Chapter 21 The Northern Cold King's Carriage

"Ranran, can you decipher this Seven Star Begonia?" Ning Jitang asked quickly.

"Yes." Yun Qingran nodded.

The toxicity of Begonia 'Seven Stars' is not high and it is not difficult to treat. The only difficulty is that it is colorless and odorless, making it hard to diagnose.

"Ranran, please save the little prince." Consort Ning stood up and was about to curtsy.

"As a physician, healing the sick and saving lives is my duty. Your Highness, please do not stand on ceremony." Yun Qingran reached out to support Ning Pin.

Consort Ning is truly devoted to her son; in such a short time, she has already performed three curtsies for him.

Consort Ning wiped away her tears and stood up, then looked at her intently and said, "Ranran, I have another request."

"Your Majesty wants me to help find out who poisoned you and the young prince, right?" Yun Qingran asked knowingly.

"Ranran, you're really smart." Consort Ning nodded, secretly glancing at Yun Qingran. It was widely rumored in the capital that Yun Qingran, the eldest daughter of the Yun family, was ugly, arrogant, and stupid as a pig. But after spending time with her today, apart from being ugly, she was completely different from the rumors.

"Your Highness Consort Ning, I'm truly sorry, but my father and brothers only wish to be loyal to the emperor and love their country; they have no desire to form a clique," Yun Qingran politely declined.

If she helps Consort Ning find the person who poisoned her, it would imply that she and Consort Ning are on the same side, and she does not want to go against her father and brother's wishes.

"The Marquis of Zhen'an and the Crown Prince are loyal to the emperor and love their country; they are pure ministers, as I understand." Consort Ning was not angry; on the contrary, she greatly admired Yunxiao and Yun Qingbi's conduct.

“However, I can help you find out how you were poisoned,” Yun Qingran said.

"Ranran, please help your aunt see how she was poisoned." Ning Jitang was really puzzled as to how her aunt had been poisoned by the Seven Star Begonia.

"Okay." Yun Qingran stood up and slowly turned around, using herself as the center.

During this process, her eyes quickly swept over the things in the hall, and finally her gaze settled on the lamp stand next to the bed.

She walked over, pulled the red candle out of the candlestick, picked off a piece of candle with her finger, and smelled it.

"Found it! The Seven Star Begonia was inside the candle. When the candle burned, the Seven Star Begonia burned along with the candle, filling the air," Yun Qingran said, holding up the candle.

Ning Jitang ran over and examined the candle in her hand, somewhat incredulous, "It was actually in the candle, the person who poisoned it is truly wicked."

For half the day, candles were lit in Chaoyang Palace, during which time the poison continuously attacked Aunt's body, harming the unborn prince in her womb. After Aunt gave birth to the prince, the poison would continue to infect both Aunt and the prince. This scheme was truly meticulous and vicious.

"Ranran, are you sure the Seven Star Begonia is in this candle?" Consort Ning's eyes were icy cold, and her whole body was filled with murderous intent.

“I’m sure of it. Although the Seven Star Begonia is colorless and odorless, it can dilute other scents. The wax scent of this candle is very faint, so it must have a lot of Seven Star Begonia mixed in,” Yun Qingran replied.

"Ranran, thank you." Consort Ning looked at her gratefully.

"Your Highness Ning is too kind." Yun Qingran waved her hand, knowing that finding the source of the poison was crucial to curing the young prince and Ning as soon as possible, so that Ning could participate in the palace banquet performance.

"By the way, Aunt, Ranran wants to participate in the palace banquet competition. She wants to join your team," Ning Jitang said.

"No problem," Consort Ning readily agreed.

She used to live a quiet and unassuming life in the palace, but some people in the harem still tried to harm her. Since that's the case, then she shouldn't be blamed for stirring up trouble.

She's going to participate in the palace banquet competition and dominate the competition!

Yun Qingran wrote down a prescription, which Consort Ning took as prescribed, while the young prince's wet nurse would administer it and feed it to him through breast milk. After the matter was resolved, night fell, and Ning Jitang personally escorted her to the palace gate.

"Ranran, I'll be waiting for you the day after tomorrow." Ning Jitang held Yun Qingran's hand, reluctant to part.

Although they had only known each other for half a day, she already considered Yun Qingran her best friend.

"Okay." Yun Qingran nodded. Tomorrow she would deal with Ruyu and the opening of the shop, and the day after tomorrow she would begin rehearsals at the palace.

The weather is nice tonight. A bright, round moon hangs in the night sky, and the few dark clouds are edged with silver by the moonlight.

As Yun Qingran walked out of the palace gate, she saw a person standing by the wall at the gate. He stood motionless in the shadows, which startled her so much that she screamed.

Upon closer inspection, it was discovered that this was Jun Molin.

Staying up in the middle of the night to pretend to be a ghost and scare people—nobody would do that!

"Your Highness, are you enjoying the moon alone here?" Yun Qingran swallowed her national treasure and uttered a polite remark.

“I’m afraid half a person would frighten you.” Jun Molin stepped out of the shadows and stood in front of Yun Qingran.

That's such a cold statement!

"It's getting late, this humble woman will take her leave." Not wanting to waste time with Jun Molin, Yun Qingran gave a perfunctory bow and prepared to leave.

"My father sent me to escort you. Get in the carriage." After saying this, Jun Molin took a long stride and turned to get into a carriage not far away.

Hmm? [The beautiful woman looked puzzled]

"Aren't you getting on?" Jun Molin looked at Yun Qingran with a detached gaze after getting into the carriage.

"Oh, here it comes." Yun Qingran ran over with her elephant legs and got into the carriage.

After I got into the carriage and settled in, the carriage creaked under the weight of the carriage!

"This broken carriage!" Yun Qingran smiled on the surface, but inwardly she was cursing.

The carriage started moving, and Pei Chen, riding alongside it, was full of questions and constantly doubting himself. Did the Emperor just say that the Prince should escort Yun Chou Nu? He didn't remember that!

The carriage was originally quite spacious, but after Yun Qingran sat inside, it became much more cramped. The narrow space, with a man and a woman, unconsciously created a subtle atmosphere.

"Yun Qingran, do you know medicine?" Jun Molin spoke first, breaking the delicate atmosphere, and asked in a serious tone.

"Mm." Yun Qingran nodded. Her medical skills had been exposed and could no longer be hidden.

"How is your medical skill?" Jun Molin continued to ask.

"If the King of Hell wants someone to die at midnight, can I keep them alive until dawn?" Yun Qingran's voice was calm, but her confidence and domineering aura were undisguised.

"I would like to ask you for a favor," Jun Molin said.

"Your Highness, are you sick?" Yun Qingran looked at him questioningly.

He's been asking me for so long, he must be hoping I can cure his illness.

Jun Molin:...

"No." Jun Molin pursed his lips, denied it, and then said, "It is my princess and my heir."

Oh, those are the two children I saw at Lingxi Temple this morning. No wonder they were kneeling and praying in the Medicine King Hall; they were sick.

"If you can cure my princess and prince, then your trespassing into the Northern Cold Prince's mansion and peeping at me while I was bathing will be forgiven." Jun Molin looked at Yun Qingran with piercing eyes.

"I'll say it again, I didn't peep at you while you were showering, I just got lost," Yun Qingran said matter-of-factly.

"Really?" Jun Molin asked her, raising an eyebrow slightly.
