"Your Highness, the bamboo raft is ready," a guard reported.
"Let's go," Nangong Xu ordered.
"Yes, Your Highness." The guards pushed the bamboo raft into the swamp.
"It's a good thing Nangong Xu came, and he brought so many people with him, otherwise I would be the one working like a slave right now." Green Immortal said to Eagle Feather with a gloating look as he watched the guards splashing mud.
“However, I always felt that Nangong Xu’s motives were impure.” Ying Yu secretly glanced at Nangong Xu, who was standing in front of the bamboo raft.
"Who cares if he's pure or not, as long as he's willing to be our beast of burden." Green Immortal patted Eagle Feather on the back, then asked, "You haven't had a woman before, have you?"
When Eagle Feather heard Green Immortal ask this question, his solemn face flushed red. He had been a member of the Shadow Guard since childhood, and had been risking his life for His Majesty all these years. Where would he have found the time to look for women?
Seeing Ying Yu's embarrassed appearance, Green Immortal shook his head. As expected, he was still a novice. No wonder he couldn't see that Nangong Xu did these things because he liked his master.
"What are you two talking about? Do you think we're here for a spring outing? Hurry up and find Sang Qingzhi!" Yun Qingran turned her head and saw the two of them whispering to each other. She put her hands on her hips and said angrily.
Eagle Feather and Green Immortal quickly lay down and began searching for Sang Qingzhi.
“Tiger mom,” Green Immortal whispered to Eagle Feather.
Although Yingyu was reluctant to admit it, she had to say that her master was a formidable woman.
After rowing for two hours, they were already more than ten miles from the shore, but there was still no sign of Sang Qingzhi.
"Master, surely there's some Sang Qingzhi in this swamp?" Green Immortal said, slumped on the bamboo raft, exhausted.
"Logically speaking, this swamp is a perfect environment for Sang Qingzhi to grow, so why is there no sign of her?" Yun Qingran was also a little anxious at this moment, her forehead covered in sweat.
Spring has arrived, and the midday sun is becoming increasingly scorching. Luckily, Nangong Xu brought a sun hat, otherwise he might have gotten sunburned.
Nangong Xu saw her hand her a leather water bag, and when she opened it, she found it contained chilled plum juice emitting cold air.
"I'd like some chilled plum juice too," Green Immortal chimed in.
Nangong Xu glanced at him, then continued searching for Sang Qingzhi on the swampy ground.
"Was that look he gave you just now saying: 'You're dreaming'?" Green Immortal asked Yun Qingran softly after receiving Nangong Xu's look.
"Hmm~ it seems so." Yun Qingran nodded.
"Just because of his stinginess, I won't agree to him becoming my master's wife." Green Immortal rolled his eyes at Nangong Xu's retreating figure with disdain.
"Teacher's wife?" Yun Qingran indicated that she did not understand the meaning of this term.
“You are my master, and your husband is also my master,” Green Immortal explained.
Yun Qingran: [Fainted] [Fainted] [Fainted]
"I'm telling you this in advance, I don't like Nangong Xu, so don't be with him." Green Immortal held a grudge against Nangong Xu.
Yun Qingran: [Sighs bitterly, rubbing her forehead]
"Stop talking nonsense, okay?" Yun Qingran covered his mouth; he was really getting more and more outrageous.
"It's just some plum juice, here's a cup for you." Yun Qingran took out two cups from her small bag, poured one for Green Immortal and one for Eagle Feather.
The three of them enjoyed their plum juice.
"Is that Sang Qingzhi?" Nangong Xu asked, pointing to a crystal-clear vine-like plant in the distance.
Yun Qingran put down the plum juice and looked in the direction he pointed. In a patch of green grass, there were several crystal-clear vines that seemed to reflect a faint light in the sunlight.
"Yes, it's Sang Qingzhi." Yun Qingran's expression became excited when she saw the plant.
"Paddle the bamboo raft over there," Nangong Xu ordered.
"Yes." The guards immediately changed direction and rowed towards where Sang Qingzhi was.
The guards paddled with all their might, and soon they reached the place where Sang Qingzhi was.
“Sang Qingzhi.” Yun Qingran looked at the few sang Qingzhi trees, her clear black and white eyes shining brightly.
Mulberry twigs can regulate the body's yin and yang. This means that if you have excessive internal heat, mulberry twigs will help reduce it; if you have a cold constitution, mulberry twigs will help replenish yang energy. It is a truly remarkable traditional Chinese medicine. It is one of the ingredients in many life-saving remedies.
Yun Qingran wiped her hands on her clothes before slowly reaching out to pick Sang Qingzhi.
She touched Sang Qingzhi and pulled it up by the roots. Just as she was about to pull her hand back, she saw the mud swell up. Before she could see what was happening, a black thing burst out of the mud and lunged at her hand.
"What is that?" Yun Qingran shouted, then quickly withdrew her hand.
Upon closer inspection, it was a huge mouth with a row of sharp teeth inside.
"My hand was almost bitten." Yun Qingran quickly stuffed Sang Qingzhi into her small bag and drew the long sword she was carrying.
"Aaaaaah, what is that?!" Green Immortal screamed and shrank behind Eagle Feather. He only knew some rudimentary kung fu and was terrified of these dangerous things.
The large mouth failed to bite Yun Qingran's hand and withdrew again. Nangong Xu held his long sword in one hand and pulled Yun Qingran behind him with the other, his sharp eyes fixed on the spot where the large mouth disappeared.
"Everyone on alert," Nangong Xu ordered in a calm voice.
"Yes." All the guards immediately drew their weapons and pointed them at the swamp.
"There really are man-eating monsters." Green Immortal asked in horror, clutching Eagle Feather's clothes tightly as he looked at the swamp.
"It's not a monster, it's probably a crocodile." Yun Qingran said solemnly, recalling the mouth that had suddenly appeared.
She had been to the zoo many times since she was a child, and almost every zoo had crocodiles, so she was very familiar with them. And since the crocodile's mouth is the most distinctive part of its body, she couldn't possibly be mistaken.
Apart from Green Immortal, everyone present was a master, and a mere crocodile was no match for them. However, this crocodile's mouth was too big, which indicated that its body was also enormous, at least three or four meters long.
A crocodile that's three or four meters long is definitely not weak in attack. And now that we're on its territory, our situation is really precarious.
"What is a crocodile?" asked the Green Fairy.
“It’s a very ferocious amphibian,” Yun Qingran replied succinctly.
"How ferocious?" Green Immortal asked in a trembling voice.
“It eats people, and you old man, it could probably eat three of them in one meal,” Yun Qingran said, frowning.
She wasn't lying; according to her estimation, it was a giant crocodile, capable of easily swallowing three Green Elders.
"My God!" Green Fairy almost cried, "Am I going to die young?"
“At your age, this is considered premature death in old age,” Yun Qingran reminded him.
Green Immortal: You've stabbed my fearful heart again.
"Master, is this thing hard to kill?" Eagle Feather asked.
"It's difficult. Its skin is thick and tough; most weapons probably can't even pierce its flesh," Yun Qingran said.
