"What?! The Northern Yin and Southern Chu are about to go to war, with Jun Molin and Nangong Xu as their respective commanders!" Yun Qingran's mind went blank when she heard this news.
"That should be the case," Luo Xiang nodded.
These days, I and three thousand Confucian scholars have been trapped in Ganxi Academy. Dongqi has not done anything because it is afraid of the power of Nanchu. Anyway, we are just trapped and have not been harmed.
But after the Southern Chu and Northern Yin came to war, the Eastern Qi found a way to send this news inside.
"No, I have to go out. I have to stop them," Yun Qingran said with a solemn and angry expression.
The strength of the Northern Yin and Southern Chu is not significantly different, and there have been no major conflicts in recent years. The sudden outbreak of war must be because of us.
If the two countries go to war, the people will suffer immensely and the consequences will be unbearable for her.
"Ranran, even if you go, I'm afraid you won't be able to stop it," Luo Xiang advised.
Although the war was started because of her, once it began, it was difficult for her to reverse it on her own.
Yun Qingran understood this principle, and she kept thinking of ways to stop the war.
After thinking for a while, she came up with a solution.
"Ranran, why are you looking at me like that?" Luo Xiang noticed Yun Qingran looking at him with a smile in her eyes, took two steps back and asked.
"Teacher, you and your fellow students may have to work hard." Yun Qingran said with a smile.
…………
Beneath the walls of Tian'an City in Southern Chu, Jun Molin, clad in black armor, rode a tall horse, one hand holding the reins and the other a long sword.
Dark clouds loomed over the city, and a fierce wind swept up sand and stones from the ground, creating a desolate and bleak scene!
"Jun Molin, it's been a long time." Nangong Xu, dressed in brown armor, stood on the wall.
"Nangong Xu, where is Ranran?" Jun Molin's cold face revealed a murderous aura.
"Ranran, she's in the Chu Palace, waiting for me to kill you. After our great victory, she'll marry me, and we'll be together forever, loving each other for life." Nangong Xu's lips curled into a wicked and smug smile.
"I don't believe it. Ranran could never marry you," Jun Molin said firmly.
He believes in Ranran, and he will always believe in her.
"Since you don't believe me, I'll kill you and cut off your head so you can watch our wedding from start to finish," Nangong Xu chuckled.
"Delusion." Jun Molin snorted coldly, then ordered, "Kill!"
"Kill!" Nangong Xu also gave the order.
The gates of Tianan City were opened wide, and the Southern Chu army rushed out, while the Northern Yin army also charged forward. The two sides clashed, with the clang of swords and spears, and a cacophony of roars and wails.
Just then, a loud, clear voice reciting aloud suddenly came from afar:
The peach tree is in full bloom, its blossoms dazzling. This maiden is going to her husband's home; may she bring harmony to her family. The peach tree is in full bloom, its leaves lush and green. This maiden is going to her husband's home; may she bring harmony to her household. In the application of rites, harmony is valued most; this is the beauty of the way of the former kings. Whether great or small, it should be followed; yet, there are things that cannot be done without knowing harmony…
Everyone stopped fighting and looked in the direction the sound came from.
Countless students dressed in long robes, their hair tied up with ribbons, carrying bamboo slips, walked towards them, undeterred by the flames of war.
Leading the way were Yun Qingran and Luo Xiang, both dressed in scholar's robes. Yun Qingran, in particular, was slender and graceful, without any makeup, like a lotus emerging from clear water, her beauty unparalleled.
"Ranran!" Jun Molin exclaimed happily.
"Ranran, you still came." Nangong Xu looked at Yun Qingran and said in a bitter voice.
"Let's call a ceasefire." A group of students walked up a small hill, and Yun Qingran stopped and shouted at Nangong Xu and Jun Molin below.
"Ceasefire? Impossible. Today, it's either Jun Molin who dies, or I who live." Nangong Xu glared at Jun Molin with resentment.
"Why should it be either you or me who lives? Why not just say it's either you or me who lives?" Jun Molin rolled his eyes at Nangong Xu.
"Nangong Xu, it's impossible for me to be with you. Let go." Yun Qingran looked at Nangong Xu with a light gaze.
"Impossible! I'd rather die than let go!" Nangong Xu raised his spear. "Southern Chu soldiers, listen to my command! Kill!"
Just as the soldiers of Southern Chu were preparing to charge, the students walked down the small hill and strolled unhurriedly toward the battlefield.
The soldiers of Southern Chu stopped in their tracks, put down their weapons, and looked at each other, hesitant to advance.
These are students who are powerless to even kill a chicken. If they enter the battlefield, they will be injured once the fighting begins.
The world values learning, and people naturally hold students in awe of them!
Three thousand students separated the two armies. Neither the Southern Chu nor the Northern Yin moved. Because of these students, the war that was about to break out cooled down.
"Ranran, are you alright?" After Yun Qingran came down, Jun Molin ran forward, hugged her tightly, and tears streamed down his face.
Thankfully she's alright. If anything had happened to Ranran, he wouldn't want to live either!
"I'm fine, I'm alright." Yun Qingran hugged her back.
Seeing the two embracing, Nangong Xu felt a pang in his heart, his throat tightened, and he spat out a mouthful of blood. Against the backdrop of the vast battlefield, it resembled a blooming flower, cruel yet beautiful.
"Your Highness." The general beside him quickly grabbed him and shook him a few times, but he remained unconscious.
"Princess Rongchang, I've heard of your superb medical skills. Please, I beg you, save our Highness." The general knelt on the ground, holding the unconscious Nangong Xu, and pleaded with Yun Qingran in a pleading tone.
“We can save him, but your Southern Chu must promise not to wage war for twenty years,” Yun Qingran continued. “We Northern Yin also promise not to wage war for twenty years.”
The general thought for a moment and nodded, "Your subordinate agrees on behalf of Southern Chu."
Now that the world is at peace, war would only be a waste of lives and resources, and would lose the hearts of the people.
“Okay, I’ll save him.” Yun Qingran also agreed to save Nangong Xu.
