Chapter 28 The Bridge Collapsed

"Bicao, can your one mouth stand up to more than ten mouths?" Yun Qingran grabbed Bicao, her eyes chillingly cold.

Yun Xiyue, that green tea bitch, is really disgusting. If we don't teach her a lesson today, she'll never know that the pot is made of iron.

She glanced at the group of noble ladies who were walking along the lotus pond and about to cross a bridge to the other side.

Yun Qingran carefully observed the bridge. The bridge was built using a modular construction method, with wooden sticks first used for cross-support, and then wooden pieces were added to form the bridge shape.

This type of bridge is very sturdy, but also very fragile; if one of the wooden beams fails, the entire bridge will collapse.

Yun Qingran picked up three white pebbles from the ground and threw them at a somewhat rotten beam under the bridge.

The white pebbles flew swiftly through the air and slammed hard onto the decaying beam, causing the entire bridge to tremble almost imperceptibly.

The second and third cobblestones followed closely behind, and the entire bridge visibly swayed, but no one noticed.

The group of noble ladies arrived at the bridge in the blink of an eye, and stepped onto the bridge one by one, denouncing Yun Qingran as they walked.

Yun Xiyue outwardly told everyone to stop talking, but inwardly she was overjoyed. How could that ugly, fat little bitch Yun Qingran possibly compete with her? She was the number one beauty and the number one talent in Bei Yin, with an excellent reputation. That ugly and lowly person like Yun Qingran was only fit to be her stepping stone.

Just as she was indulging in her fantasies, the bridge beneath her feet suddenly cracked under the weight, and she lost control of her body, plummeting straight down.

Ah~

Ah~

Ah~

...

Not only Yunxi Yue, but the other noble ladies on the bridge also fell into the water like dumplings being dropped into a pot.

"It's so cold!"

"Help! I can't swim!"

"Someone, someone!"

...

A group of elegantly dressed noble ladies were splashing around in the frigid winter water, their faces pale with fright, screaming incoherently, completely devoid of their usual dignified and proud demeanor.

"Wow, Miss, you're amazing!" Bi Cao witnessed the whole thing and naturally knew that Yun Qingran was behind the bridge collapse. At this moment, her admiration for Yun Qingran was like a surging river.

How come the young lady is so amazing!

"Come on, your young lady will teach you how to beat a dog when it's down." Yun Qingran winked and smiled, picked up a bamboo pole used for scooping up fallen leaves from the river, and led Bi Cao toward the collapsed bridge.

The lotus pond wasn't deep, but the bottom was all silt. The noble ladies didn't drown, but they swallowed a lot of muddy water because they couldn't stand steadily.

"Who will pull us out!" a noblewoman cried out. The pool water was dirty and cold, and she was on the verge of collapse.

"I'm here to help you all up." Yun Qingran walked to the edge of the pool, smiling as she looked at the disheveled noble ladies.

She was positioned with her back to the sunlight, obscuring her face. When the noble ladies looked up at her, they felt as if she had descended from the heavens. Overjoyed, they thought someone had come to rescue them, but upon closer inspection and recognizing Yun Qingran, they were all terrified and retreated in fear.

They had just insulted her behind her back, and now they were extremely guilty, fearing that she would take the opportunity to retaliate.

"Yunyun...Qingran, this is the palace, you must not do anything reckless." Gu Manxiang stammered as she warned Yun Qingran.

“Miss Gu, you’ve misunderstood. I’m here to save you.” Yun Qingran waved the bamboo pole in her hand.

"Really?" Gu Manxiang was a little skeptical. Would this wicked woman be so kind as to save them?
