In her previous life, Yun Qingran's father was a leading figure in traditional Chinese medicine, and her mother was a senior martial arts instructor; the couple were always extremely busy. Yun Qingran was raised by her third uncle.
My third uncle was a scoundrel, proficient in all sorts of vices, including drinking, gambling, whoring, and smoking. However, he was also clever and quick-witted. Although mischievous, he never suffered any losses in these areas; on the contrary, he mastered them to the fullest.
The Yangtze River flows on, each generation surpassing the last; Yun Qingran, influenced by what she sees and hears, is even more adventurous than her third uncle.
"Yun Qingran, are you crazy?" Yun Qingbi glared at Yun Qingran when she heard that Yun Qingran wanted to use the house as a wager.
He was truly devastated by his sister's behavior; why was she such a wicked woman with so many vices?
Yun Qingran turned around and knelt down in front of Yun Xiao with a thud. "Father, after these two rounds, I will never gamble again. Please let me gamble."
Yunxiao watched as her daughter knelt on the ground, begging to be allowed to gamble, a few strands of her black and white hair fluttering messily, her body swaying precariously in the cold wind.
What exactly did the Yun family do wrong?
What exactly did I do wrong?
After a while, Yunxiao waved his hand and instructed Old Zhang, who was standing to the side, "Old Zhang, go and get the land deed?"
"My lord~" Old Zhang dared not go.
"Go when I tell you to!" Yunxiao roared.
Old Zhang had to jog to get the land deed. After he got the deed, Zhang San had already moved a small table to the doorway. There were two small chairs at either end of the table, and two dice cups on the table.
Yun Qingran snatched the land deed from Old Zhang's hand and slammed it on the table. "My bet is the land deed. What's your bet?"
“You owe our gambling den three thousand five hundred and twenty-five taels of silver. I’ll use your IOU as the wager.” Zhang San slapped out the IOU.
"Okay," Yun Qingran readily agreed.
Zhang San thought to himself, "This house is in a prime location and is of marquis rank. It should be worth at least 40,000 taels of silver. I gambled with her using an IOU for a little over 3,000 taels. Yun Qingran is indeed a fool."
After all this commotion, a large crowd had gathered around, including ordinary people and servants of the powerful, all watching the spectacle.
"How could Yun Qingran possibly win?"
“If my daughter did that, I would break her legs.”
"If I had a daughter like that, I would drown her in a chamber pot at birth."
"The Yun family is incredibly unlucky to have such a daughter."
"The Marquis of Zhen'an and his heir are so pitiful."
...
The people all looked at Yun Qingran with disgust, pointing and whispering, but she turned a deaf ear.
"Miss Yun, how about we play dice and see who's bigger?" Zhang San asked Yun Qingran.
"No problem." Yun Qingran readily agreed; playing dice was her specialty.
"This round, we'll see who rolls the biggest dice," Zhang San said, picking up the dice cup. Yun Qingran also picked up her dice cup, and the two began to shake it together.
Yun Qingran shook the dice cup a couple of times, then put it down. She opened the cup and saw that it contained one, four, and four, for a total of nine points.
Zhang San couldn't help but laugh out loud when he saw it, then put down his dice cup and slowly opened it. Six, six, six, a total of eighteen points.
Zhang Sansheng!
Yunxiao trembled and almost fainted. Yun Qingbi clenched her fists tightly and her face was terribly grim.
"Yun Qingran is such a useless person."
"Not only are they useless, they also lack self-awareness."
"The Yun family is probably the first marquis family in our Northern Yin Dynasty to lose their mansion to a gambling den. What a disgrace."
"Remove the fear, Zhang San won this round, and the Zhen'an Marquis's mansion now belongs to the gambling den."
"Yun Qingran truly deserves to be called the number one wicked woman, the number one stupid woman, and the number one ugly woman in the capital."
...
"Miss Yun, you flatter me." Zhang San happily took the land deed from the table and stuffed it into his pocket.
"I'm not convinced, I want to gamble with you again." Yun Qingran slammed her hands on the table, looking like she was going crazy.
"Miss Yun, what else can we bet on?" Zhang San chuckled, raising an eyebrow.
"I still have myself." Yun Qingran looked at Zhang San firmly, as if she was determined to take another gamble.
Upon hearing this, the atmosphere froze for a moment. This wicked woman had actually used herself as a wager.
"Yun Qingran, have you no shame? You actually used yourself as a wager!" Yun Qingbi shouted angrily.
"Ranran, do you know what you're doing?" Yunxiao cried. A man doesn't easily shed tears, but he hadn't reached a point of desperation.
"Zhang San, just tell me if you'll gamble with me or not?" Yun Qingran ignored her father and brother, staring at Zhang San.
“Since Miss Yun wants to gamble, I will certainly agree.” Zhang San nodded in agreement.
Although Miss Yun is utterly useless and ugly, she is, after all, the legitimate daughter of the Marquis of Zhen'an's mansion, and her indenture must be very valuable.
"I'll wager myself, what will you wager?" Yun Qingran asked herself. "I am the legitimate daughter of the Marquis of Zhen'an's mansion, a golden branch and jade leaf. You can wager the land deed of the Marquis of Zhen'an's mansion that I just lost to you, my IOU, and three thousand taels of silver."
Yun Qingran slightly raised her chin, her tone arrogant. Her posture was both innocent and haughty, but unfortunately, her figure and appearance were terrible. Her appearance was truly unbearable to look at, and everyone couldn't help but laugh.
"Zhang San, are you afraid to bet with me?" Yun Qingran looked at Zhang San with narrowed eyes.
"Why wouldn't I dare? Let's bet." The combined value of these three items was too high, and Zhang San hesitated for a moment, but after being provoked by Yun Qingran, he immediately agreed.
That ugly woman has no chance of winning against him!
"This round, we'll bet on whose dice roll is lower," Yun Qingran said, sitting down and picking up the dice cup again.
Zhang San also sat down and picked up the dice cup, and the two began to shake it.
