Chapter 75 begins the resettlement of refugees.

"Time waits for no one, Bi'er, hurry to the Ministry of Revenue and get the money and grain approved," Yunxiao urged Yun Qingbi.

"Yes." Yun Qingbi understood that people were freezing and starving to death every day in Ma Xing Street. Every day that was delayed, more people in Ma Xing Street would be injured or killed.

"Father, elder brother, I want to go with you." Yun Qingran also wanted to go.

“Okay, let’s go.” Yunxiao nodded in agreement.

The father, his son, and his daughter went to the Ministry of Revenue together. When they arrived, the staff were preparing to leave work.

"Greetings, colleagues. I am Yun Qingbi, the newly appointed Vice Minister of Revenue." Yun Qingbi cupped his hands in greeting and greeted them politely.

These people looked at him with disdain, without speaking or returning the greeting. They didn't even greet Yunxiao, the Marquis of Zhen'an.

Yun Qingran picked up a wooden plank standing by the door and snapped it in half with her bare hands!

Everyone shuddered in fright and swallowed hard. Yun Qingbi's younger sister was too fierce.

"Welcome, Lord Yun! We will certainly do our utmost to assist you and serve the court and the people." Everyone quickly returned the greeting with clasped hands and said in unison.

Yun Qingbi gave Yun Qingran an appreciative look, then gestured to everyone to help her up, saying, "Thank you all."

"Greetings, Marquis Zhen'an, and Miss Yun." After returning the greetings to Yun Qingbi, everyone respectfully greeted Yun Xiao.

“Hmm.” Yunxiao nodded in response, then continued, “Gentlemen, His Majesty has ordered the Ministry of Revenue to allocate funds for the resettlement of displaced people. I have come to the Ministry of Revenue today in the hope that this matter will be implemented as soon as possible.”

"It's hard to say exactly how much money and grain to allocate. Why don't we allocate money and grain while we're settling people down?" Yun Qingbi said.

“That is exactly what I meant as well.” Yunxiao nodded.

"Colleagues, we don't have enough manpower. Let's all go with Marquis Zhen'an to Ma Xing Street to settle the refugees," Yun Qingbi suggested.

They looked at each other, realizing that in this freezing weather, they really didn't want to go to a dirty and chaotic place like Ma Xing Street.

Yun Qingran picked up a wooden plank standing by the door, snapped it in two with a snap, and then, holding the broken piece of wood, slowly swept her gaze over everyone.

“The refugees are suffering from hunger and thirst, and as officials appointed by the imperial court, it is only natural that we should go and help them. Marquis Zhen’an, please.” An official gestured for Yunxiao to enter.

"Okay, let's go." Yunxiao didn't have time to care whether everyone was there voluntarily or not, and took the lead in walking ahead.

A group of people arrived at Ma Xing Street, only to find the street filled with ragged and weak refugees in the biting cold wind.

"What can we do? There are too many refugees. We can't accommodate them all in the inns, and even if we could, the expenses would be too high," said one of the officials from the Ministry of Revenue.

"Settle the elderly, women, and children first; we'll deal with the others later." Yun Qingran's expression was grave. Only one day had passed, and the number of refugees had increased significantly. If things weren't handled properly in Zhangzhou, the refugee problem would inevitably become a major issue sooner or later.

“Okay, let’s do as Ranran says.” Yunxiao nodded in agreement.

Yun Qingbi led the Ministry of Revenue officials to find an inn, while Yun Xiao and Yun Qingran went to buy rice and flour.

After working until midnight, they finally settled the elderly, children, and sick into the inn, and the refugees were finally able to have a hot meal.

The father, son, and daughter returned to the Zhen'an Marquis's residence, so exhausted that they could hardly stand up straight and slumped into chairs.

"No, we don't have enough manpower. I'll recruit some volunteers to help tomorrow," Yun Qingran said.

"What is a volunteer?" Yun Qingbi had never heard of this term before.

“They are people who help voluntarily and don’t ask for money,” Yun Qingran explained.

"Can anyone do it?" Yun Qingbi expressed her doubt.

"Give it a try, and we'll see if it works." Yun Qingran wasn't sure if she could recruit volunteers.

“This can’t go on. It’s too expensive to keep the refugees in inns, and the inns can’t accommodate so many people. Ninety percent of them will still have to sleep on the streets.” Yunxiao’s brows were so furrowed that they could trap a fly.

Resettling refugees is a thankless and arduous task, which is why Yun Song asked Yun Xiao to take on this job.

"How about we build a village to settle them?" Yun Qingran suggested.

"Where should we build it? Where will the money for building the village come from?" Yun Qingbi shook her head. Building a village would require far too much money.

"I'll think of a way." Yun Qingran had a plan in mind.

The next morning, the father, son, and daughter got up early, and Uncle Zhang, Aunt Zhang, and Bicao also got up and went to help.

As soon as Yun Qingran opened the door, Ning Jitang and a group of servants from the Ning family stood guard at the entrance.

"Ranran, I've brought people to help you." Ning Jitang saw her and happily pointed to the people behind him.

"My dear sister, once I'm successful, I'll never forget you." I'll send you eight male models then.

"Sister, we've arrived too." As she spoke, Jun Yanyan and Jun An'an arrived, followed by servants from the Northern Cold Prince's Mansion.

"Yan Yan and An An, you two are so great! I'm sending you my love." Yun Qingran looked at the two children and felt a warmth in her heart. They were truly two little angels.

"Who are these two children?" Yunxiao stared blankly at Jun Yanyan and Jun An'an.

The two of them had visited the Marquis of Zhen'an's residence before, but hadn't encountered Yunxiao. At the last palace banquet, they were too far apart for Yunxiao to see clearly; this was the first time she had seen him.

“They are the young princess and young prince of His Highness the Northern Cold King,” Yun Qingbi said.

“This little princess looks so much like your sister when she was little,” Yunxiao murmured, staring at Jun Yanyan’s face.

Yun Qingbi looked closely and realized that the little princess of the Northern Cold King really did look a bit like her sister.

“The young prince looks a bit like you when you were little,” Yunxiao said, staring at Jun An’an’s face.

Yun Qingbi touched her face; she and the young prince did indeed look somewhat alike.

"Young Princess, Young Prince, hello! I am Marquis Zhen'an." Yunxiao squatted down in front of the two children, unconsciously raising her voice to greet them.

"Yan Yan greets the Marquis of Zhen'an."

"An'an greets Lord Zhen'an."

The brother and sister greeted Yunxiao together.

Jun Yanyan is an adorable little girl, and Jun An'an is a handsome little cool guy. Looking at the two children who are as beautiful as ice sculptures, Yunxiao's heart melted, and he felt a strange sense of intimacy.

"Good, good, good, such sensible children." Yunxiao resisted the urge to hug them.

Jun Yanyan and Jun An'an also liked Yunxiao very much, and held his hands tightly.

"Father, elder brother, you take some people to Ma Xing Street first, I'll go to Dajia Street to recruit volunteers." Yun Qingran planned to give it a try.

“Okay,” Yun Qingbi and Yun Xiao said.

"Ranran, I'll go with you."

"Sister, I want to go with you too."

Ning Jitang and Jun Yan wanted to go with Yun Qingran.

"Lord Marquis, Lord Yun, I'll go with you." Jun An'an wanted to follow Yun Xiao and Yun Qingbi; a man should follow another man.

“Okay, then Tangtang and Yanyan will come with me, and An'an, you will go with my older brother and father.” Yun Qingran agreed.
