Chapter 201 Are you satisfied now?
Upon hearing this, Liu Tian became anxious. "Political Commissar Yao, you can't say that, can you?"
"How is this considered a fuss?"
“Our family is indeed facing difficulties; we have two children to support…”
Before she could finish speaking, Political Commissar Yao interrupted, "Who doesn't have children?"
"Which family doesn't have three or more children?"
“That Commander Zhou doesn’t have one,” Liu Tian said matter-of-factly.
Political Commissar Yao frowned deeply. "The wife is already pregnant, and the couple is young. Do you think they won't have more children?"
"You're using this as an excuse?"
Before Liu Tian could say anything more, Political Commissar Yao waved his hand, signaling her not to: "Let's not talk about that. I'll say it again: the army won't assign tasks based on who makes the most noise."
“If you don’t like it, either quit on your own or put up with it. Making a scene will never work in the army,” Political Commissar Yao said the last sentence very loudly.
Liu Tian's expression turned very bad.
"As for whether you two will divorce because of this, we can only offer advice. If you insist on doing so, Commander He can submit a report."
Upon hearing Political Commissar Yao's words, Liu Tian's expression darkened even further.
She felt that the military was deliberately biased.
It's not just about houses, it's also about jobs. Yes, jobs.
Liu Tian immediately asked, "Okay, even if we were unlucky and didn't win the lottery for the house, what about jobs?"
"You found that job for Commander Zhou's wife, didn't you?"
"She's eating until she leaves early every day, receiving a salary without working. Was that something you arranged?"
Liu Tian's words made Political Commissar Yao's expression change. "He's wife, you need to provide evidence for what you're saying. If you spread rumors like this, the army can sue you."
Liu Tian was once again rebuffed. "Even if she's not receiving a salary without working, the fact remains that she's late and leaves early," Liu Tian continued to struggle.
Political Commissar Yao said directly, "If you have solid evidence, you can go to her workplace to file a complaint. Telling me this is useless."
"But you arranged the job for her, so why should she get such a good job?"
Political Commissar Yao gestured for her to stop talking. "I'll emphasize again, this has nothing to do with the military. If you keep talking nonsense, you're just smearing the military and spreading malicious rumors. Think about it yourself!"
"As for your marital conflicts, if you really can't live together anymore, we respect your personal choice. If you want a divorce, just file a report."
After saying that, Political Commissar Yao adopted a gesture as if to see the guest out.
Liu Tian opened her mouth, but was too scared to speak again, and then left Political Commissar Yao's office in a fit of anger.
Once outside the office, He Zhen started arguing with her, "Are you satisfied now?"
"After this, I can forget about getting promoted."
Liu Tian glared at him with some resentment, then turned and hurried towards the family compound. She went upstairs, packed her things, and left the compound. She planned to go back to her parents' home for a while, letting He Zhen take care of the child himself and experience what it's like for the child to be without a mother.
He Zhen didn't come back with her, so he naturally didn't know about her actions.
When Liu Tian walked out of the residential compound, she saw Zhizhi waiting for the bus at the bus stop with her pregnant belly.
As the bus arrived, Liu Tian boarded with her things.
Although she was turned to the side, Zhizhi still recognized her, but Zhizhi didn't pay any attention to her. She found a seat by the window and didn't notice her anymore.
Liu Tian went to sit in the back row.
When Zhizhi got off the bus, she saw that the other woman was still sitting in the bus, but she didn't think much of it.
After all, it's a bus; she can't control who gets to sit or who doesn't.
Liu Tian saw her get off the bus and followed her off. The bus door was almost closed when she pounded on it and made the driver open the door.
By the time she came down, Zhizhi had already crossed an intersection.
Fortunately, Zhizhi was pregnant and her figure was quite noticeable, so she managed to spot her.
Finally, she saw Zhizhi enter the Ministry of Cultural Administration.
When Liu Tian looked, she felt like the sky had fallen.
“A government unit…” Liu Tian muttered, her teeth chattering in the sweltering heat, furious.
She got the job as an accountant in the factory thanks to her family's connections, which is already a pretty good job for a military wife.
After all, most military spouses are not well-educated.
The few who did get jobs were sales clerks, or people who got their jobs in the factory through connections.
Most of them stay at home taking care of their children.
Couples like her and He Zhen, both from Beijing and both employed, are extremely rare in the residential compound. And yet…
As it turns out, Zhizhi, a young woman from out of town, actually works in a government agency...
Liu Tian simply couldn't believe it. "How could this be? How could someone from out of town get into such an easy job?"
"No wonder she goes to work late and leaves early every day, it turns out..."
Liu Tian looked at the signboard of the "Cultural Relics Administration Department" and was so angry that her eyes almost bled.
She wanted to ask a few questions, but the old man at the gatehouse looked at her warily and asked, "Who are you?"
“I’m from Beijing, a true local. My ancestors were all from Beijing,” Liu Tian said, pointing to the entrance. “Do you know what kind of work that out-of-towner who just went in does inside?”
The old man waved his hand, holding the cup in his hand, indicating that he shouldn't ask questions, then closed his eyes and sat there swaying back and forth, humming a tune.
Liu Tian was so angry she couldn't speak, but she didn't dare say anything, so she could only stomp her feet and leave.
She went back to her parents' home.
Zhizhi didn't know or care about any of this; in any case, she had a few days of peace.
The work at the Cultural Relics Administration Department was very free. When Zhizhi felt tired, she took a car and wandered over to He Yuzhi's place to visit her grandparents.
He Yuzhi and Wen Runxiang moved back to the courtyard house because they felt it was cooler there.
As soon as Zhizhi returned, He Yuzhi immediately asked Xiao Li to prepare many of Zhizhi's favorite dishes, including hot pot, which Zhizhi loved. Although the elderly couple didn't like to eat it in such hot weather, they loved it because their granddaughter loved it.
As soon as Zhizhi returned, He Yuzhi asked, "Are you settling in well?"
"Can you get used to the food?"
"Are you eating well every day?"
"How about we have Xiao Li come over and cook for you?"
Zhizhi refused, "I don't need Grandma's help. Zhou Lin cooks for me every night, and I usually eat lunch at the Cultural Relics Administration Department. They eat really well there." She rubbed her face, "I think I've gained weight again."
He Yuzhi patted her head and said fondly, "It's good to be fat. You look good when you're fat, and your child will grow up well too."
"You still go to work every day, can you handle it?" He Yuzhi asked worriedly.
“I arrive very late and leave very early every day. I also take a long break at noon. I don’t do much work; I just pass the time.”
“If I stay at home all the time, I don’t think it’s good for me and the baby in my belly.”
He Yuzhi nodded in agreement, saying, "That's true. If you don't move around, it's harder to give birth."
"Alright, just keep that in mind. Don't push yourself too hard. Our family has everything you need. Just take good care of yourself."
"If you are not comfortable in your accommodation or food, be sure to tell Grandma."
Zhizhi rested her head on her shoulder and rubbed against her, saying sweetly, "Mmm, if I'm unhappy, I'll definitely come back to Grandma."
He Yuzhi nodded and told Zhizhi, "Your aunt and your younger aunt will be back next month during summer vacation."
"Really? Then Grandma can tell me as soon as possible."
"Yes, don't worry!"
After Zhizhi had eaten and drunk her fill, she took a bag of food made by Xiao Li and was sent back home.
Liu Tian has been staying at her parents' home for almost a week, and He Zhen hasn't gone to pick her up.
Her mother couldn't help but say to her, "If you have a temper, take it out on outsiders. Why are you taking it out on your man?"
