Chapter 5: Going up the mountain to collect herbs

Sang Yu came to the conclusion while eating snacks.

This hunter may not like her.

After all, he was forced to marry her and spent twenty taels of silver. She might be a little irritable, but Sang Yu could understand it.

After all, Sang Yu didn't want to spend the wedding night with anyone casually.

It’s good to sleep in separate rooms like this. Not only is it comfortable, but there are also no messy families like the Lin family. Sang Yu likes it very much.

Sang Yu was very tired today, so she fell asleep on the bed after eating snacks. When she woke up, she found the bed was warm and covered with new bedding.

Sang Yu quickly got up, tidied up, and changed her clothes. Only then did she realize that although this room was better than the one she had in the Lin family before, it was not much better.

Because I am really poor!

In the empty room, there was nothing else except a brick bed and a dressing table. It was obvious that the dressing table was newly made, probably prepared by Yu Zhiheng for her.

Sang Yu seriously suspected that the hunter had no money left after marrying her.

Well, it seems that making money still needs to be put first!

When I opened the door and went out, I saw a large, messy and dilapidated yard.

Sang Yu sighed and went to the kitchen again. Before she reached the door, she saw a cloud of smoke. Yu Zhiheng was inside, coughing and saying to Sang Yu, "Don't come over."

Sang Yu looked at the thick smoke and obediently did not go in.

After all, she would definitely choke badly if she went in. She always knew how to protect herself, so she might as well take the opportunity to clean up the yard first!

She first threw away the messy things and cleaned up the fallen leaves and weeds. It was two hours later when she finished cleaning up everything.

At this time, Yu Zhiheng finally came out with two bowls of noodles.

Sang Yu quickly placed the small table that had just been cleaned and washed in the yard, and then went to find two wooden blocks to use as benches.

Yu Zhiheng put down the noodles. Sang Yu was very hungry, so he said thank you and sat down to eat with big mouthfuls.

Yu Zhiheng stood there and looked at her for a while before sitting down and starting to eat. Sang Yu turned around and looked at him, but unfortunately she only saw the cold mask and had no idea what he was thinking.

Sang Yu almost finished her bowl of noodles before asking tentatively, "Now...is there any money left at home?"

"There's more." Yu Zhiheng said, and handed a purse to Sang Yu.

Sang Yu slowly took it and opened it, pouring out ten copper coins from it.

"I heard you went up the mountain and hunted a few big ones to exchange for silver. Tell me honestly, how much did you get in total?"

"Fifty taels."

"All spent?"

"These are the ones left." Yu Zhiheng pointed to his purse.

Sang Yu finally understood how that grand wedding yesterday came about.

"You..." Sang Yu looked into his eyes, "If you don't mind, I'll be the one managing the money at home from now on."

"Okay." It was just a simple word, but Sang Yu could actually hear that the other party seemed to be somewhat pleased?

"Is there any food left at home?"

Yu Zhiheng paused, then suddenly stood up and went to the kitchen, bringing out a cloth bag. "And these."

Sang Yu looked at the flour that was only about a bowl left and fell into deep melancholy.

"Are there any noodles left?"

"No more." He paused, "I'll go up the mountain after dinner."

"Are you going up the mountain to see if there's any prey?" Sang Yu's eyes lit up when she heard about going up the mountain. "Can I go with you?"

She hasn't been out for a while?

And maybe there are medicinal herbs on the mountain, and she can make money by digging them up!

Yu Zhiheng originally planned to go alone. After all, the mountain was dangerous and it was inconvenient to bring a girl with him. However, looking at Sang Yu's bright eyes, he couldn't say the word "no" and finally nodded.

Sang Yu was a doctor of traditional Chinese medicine. After more than 20 years of hard study, he had just achieved new research results. However, he did not expect that when he lay down to sleep, he would open his eyes and find himself in this poor and feudal little village.

After dinner, Sang Yu quickly washed the dishes and set off carrying a backpack that he had found from somewhere.

As they walked, he whispered, "You say you're not poor, but you have nothing at home. You say you're poor, but everything in your house is new. It's really strange."

Yu Zhiheng was walking in front. After hearing this, he turned around and looked at Sang Yu.

It is early spring now, and the surroundings are full of greenery. The sunlight shines on Sang Yu's head, making her eyebrows and eyes clearer and her beauty more vivid and bold.

It was like a mottled dream, and it seemed that only at this moment the clouds and mist were slowly parting, revealing its true face.

When he woke up, Sang Yu was standing in front of him, smiling sweetly and with clear eyes and eyebrows.

"What’s wrong with you?"

"fine."

At this time, the mountain road was very slippery, so Yu Zhiheng slowed down and followed Sang Yu, silently protecting her.

When Sang Yu saw this, he felt more favorable towards the hunter. Although he didn't talk much, he seemed to be very considerate.

Yu Zhiheng's home was at the foot of the mountain, so after walking for a while, he reached the halfway point.

"Wait for me here."

Sang Yu nodded and said, "I'll just walk around here. I'll call you if there's anything!"

After Yu Zhiheng left, Sang Yu walked around for a while, picked some beautiful wild flowers, made a wreath and wore it on her head, and then started digging herbs.

There were more medicinal herbs on the mountain than she had expected. After digging for a while, her backpack was full.

She guessed that it might be because no one in the village knew about these herbs, so no one picked them and she got lucky.
