Chapter 65 Extra [VIP]

Chapter Summary: The Grand Wedding (Part 2)

Xu Qinguo smiled and accepted the teacup. After everything that had happened, he was now most satisfied with his second wife. Turning to look at the empty chair beside him, Xu Qinguo could finally give his deceased wife some closure.

He raised his hand again and drank the cup of wedding tea.

"A match made in heaven, now that we are united in marriage. As your father, I wish you two would walk hand in hand and support each other." Xu Qinguo said, looking at Xu Luchuan, and instructed, "Second son, you must take good care of His Highness."

"Father, rest assured," Xu Luchuan replied, bowing respectfully.

The master of ceremonies, seeing Xu Qinguo silently put down his tea, then announced in a loud voice, "The ceremony is complete. Proceed to the bridal chamber."

As soon as he finished speaking, firecrackers went off in unison.

Amidst the commotion of the crowd, Xu Luchuan, holding the Hehuan Liang, led Liu Shiyu gracefully toward Jihanzhai.

...

Inside Jihanzhai, beneath the curtains and canopy.

Liu Shiyu sat calmly on the couch, while Xu Luchuan entertained guests outside. Feeling rather bored, she couldn't help but look around. She wondered if this was Xu Luchuan's room. The room looked fresh and elegant, quite fitting for her husband.

In fact, according to custom, when a princess gets married, her husband should live in the princess's residence. However, Liu Shiyu felt that the princess's residence was too quiet and insisted on living in the Xu family's residence. Therefore, the wedding room was naturally arranged in Jihanzhai.

As the moon rose and the sun set, Liu Shiyu waited alone by the bedside for several hours.

She watched as the maids lit the lamps and the red candles burned. But she could only gaze longingly through the veil.

Liu Shiyu lowered her head and leaned against the edge of the couch, letting out a sigh. Then, she reached out and rubbed her aching lower abdomen. Finally, unable to wait any longer, she lifted the veil and walked to the table.

Old Granny Xu was about to step forward to stop her, but was silenced by a single glare from the dignified Princess. She retreated timidly.

Liu Shiyu casually picked up the wedding cakes on the table and started eating them bite by bite.

Unexpectedly, Xu Luchuan strolled back leisurely from outside, having only eaten half of the pancake in his hand. Seeing this, the old woman forced herself to step forward and advised, "Your Highness, the young master has returned. Please quickly return to your seat."

Upon hearing this, Liu Shiyu, with half a bite of biscuit still in her mouth, hurriedly covered her head with the veil, then stumbled and fell back to the bedside.

Once everyone was seated, Xu Luchuan pushed open the door. His face was flushed, and his eyes were glazed. He was clearly drunk.

Seeing this, Liu Shiyu clenched her sleeves. She thought, with Xu Luchuan so drunk, wouldn't he cause trouble tonight? If he really did, she'd see how she dealt with him tomorrow.

Before she could react, Xu Luchuan approached her in a few steps.

Xu Luchuan suddenly leaned down, his eyes fixed on Liu Shiyu under the veil with an ambiguous gaze. The moment Liu Shiyu looked up, he darted under the veil with lightning speed, saying, "Let my lord see what my little cat is stealing to eat?"

Their eyes met instantly, and Xu Luchuan opened his mouth and took a big bite out of her half of the wedding cake.

Liu Shiyu stared blankly into his eyes. She felt that Xu Luchuan at this moment was like a "hungry wolf," devoid of any gentleness. She didn't know why, but she had a feeling that she was doomed.

Xu Luchuan had already swallowed the cake completely. She was next to be swallowed.

Liu Shiyu's nose was pressed tightly against Xu Luchuan's, and his rapid breathing made her nervously swallow.

"Second Young Master, this marriage isn't over yet, and the veil hasn't been lifted. Please don't be in such a hurry..." Sensing the deep affection between the two, the old woman quickly offered her advice. But Xu Luchuan, upon hearing this, chuckled to himself from behind the veil.

"Your Highness, if you don't like these troublesome rules, you may all leave," Xu Luchuan actually gave the order using Liu Shiyu's name, clearly impatient.

Upon hearing this, Liu Shiyu grabbed Xu Luchuan's belt, warning him with her eyes not to speak recklessly. Xu Luchuan, however, didn't hesitate and quickly planted a passionate kiss on her.

The two of them forgot about the mundane world and ignored the disturbances behind their veils.

The old woman stood by the bed, caught in a dilemma. She truly hadn't expected that this once self-possessed and refined young master would be so "licentious" in private when he met the Princess. With a helpless sigh, the old woman waved and led her maids away hastily.

Everyone had left, and the surrounding silence reignited the ambiguous atmosphere.

Xu Luchuan slowly removed the kiss he had given her, gazing deeply into her eyes once more. Then he said in a deep voice, "After going through so many twists and turns, I've finally married you. Luckily, it's not too late."

"Mmm." Liu Shiyu cupped his face, her eyes smiling. "My dear husband. Shall we still drink our wedding wine? Shall we still lift the veil?"

"Of course we must drink the wedding wine, and of course we must lift the veil."

As he spoke, Xu Luchuan abruptly lifted Liu Shiyu's veil and threw it aside. Without giving Liu Shiyu a chance to react, he pushed her down onto the bed. He then picked up a bottle of Heqin wine from beside the bed, took a sip, and leaned down to feed it to Liu Shiyu.

Just as the beauty's red sleeves were half-undone, a letter inexplicably fell into Xu Luchuan's palm. He looked down in confusion, while Liu Shiyu, though bewildered at the moment, was startled upon seeing the letter.

She frantically tried to snatch it, but it was too late.

Upon seeing those glaring words, Xu Luchuan angrily crumpled the letter and shouted, "Liu Shiyu!"

"My lord, I was wrong. It was my elder sister who insisted on giving it to me. It has nothing to do with me." Liu Shiyu fawned over him, wrapping her arms around the back of his neck and shifting all the blame onto Liu Shijin. But Xu Luchuan gradually moved closer to her ear with ill intent, "Seeing that Your Highness has doubts, then I will certainly satisfy Your Highness today."

"Liu Shiyu, you're finished..."

After speaking, Xu Luchuan stopped being gentle and showed Liu Shiyu what he was capable of.

Red candles climbed boldly up the curtains, their shadows sometimes appearing in pairs, sometimes merging into one. The mountains and seas rippled, the moonlight shimmered. All the world's pleasures were nothing compared to a passionate love affair. And so they became husband and wife, their love unwavering.

Later, her heavy breathing gradually stabilized. The red candle was about to burn out, and Liu Shiyu lay contentedly in the dim light, quietly tracing Xu Luchuan's well-defined back.

"It left a scar."

Liu Shiyu's fingertips lingered on the mark of the wound he had sustained for her, and Xu Luchuan smiled with his back to Liu Shiyu.

"What? You're disgusted? It's no use being disgusted now, the deed is done."

Upon hearing this, Liu Shiyu punched him in the back, but unexpectedly, Xu Luchuan turned around and grabbed the back of her hand. Seeing this, Liu Shiyu pouted and pretended to scold him, saying, "Xu Luchuan! I've already paid back what I owed you, what else do you want! I'm sleepy, I want to go to sleep."

"But my wife seems to be in good spirits, let's have another one."

Xu Luchuan, however, disagreed and pulled the covers over himself.

Liu Shiyu stared at the "hungry wolf" before her, tears welling in her eyes. A few deep sobs escaped her lips, drowned out by the whistling wind in the corridor. The cycle repeated itself several times. Tonight, she truly was doomed.

[Author's Note]

Liu Shiyu: Xiao Lü, you're amazing. You really are amazing.

The line "We became husband and wife in our youth, our love and trust unwavering" is quoted from Su Wu's poem "Farewell to My Wife" from the Han Dynasty.
