Chapter 394 Old Ox

Chapter 394 Old Ox

Before her sister could finish speaking, Zhang Yueran quickly interjected, "He's only thirty, and I'm almost twenty-five... Isn't Fifth Brother six years older than you?"

There's really no way to refute Nan Zhiyi's age... as for other aspects, he doesn't know...

She gently stroked her sister's hair and said softly, "I don't know much about Mr. Zhou's character. But I respect your choice... If you think he's good, then I'll support you. As long as you're happy."

Zhang Yueran hugged her sister's arm, moved, saying, "He's really good. I'm happy whenever I see him."

Nan Zhiyi chuckled: "So you're a womanizer after all."

"Hehe," Zhang Yueran chuckled, admitting, "Just looking at his face makes me want to eat two extra bowls of rice."

"Alright," Nan Zhiyi shook her head helplessly, "Everyone has a love for beauty." But in her heart, she secretly compared them and thought that her fifth brother was still the most handsome.

"Sister," Zhang Yueran blurted out her secret, then breathed a sigh of relief, "Zhou Xingzhi wants to come and visit..."

Zhang Yueran blinked, only then realizing the weight of the word "visit" in this era.

She blushed and remained silent, unsure why Zhou Xingzhi was in such a hurry for a formal visit.

Actually, she didn't understand why Zhou Xingzhi was so eager to make a formal visit, and she felt both sweet and at a loss.

Nan Zhiyi gently held her younger sister's hand and said softly, "A formal visit...how about a few days later?" She needed to have Gu Xiao ask Qin Fen about Boss Zhou's character first. After all, Yueyue was young and this was her first time dating.

"Also," she said, choosing her words carefully, "would you like to tell Aunt Feng first?"

Zhang Yueran bit her lip: "Are you going to tell Mom so soon?"

"Don't tell Aunt Feng..." Nan Zhiyi looked at her meaningfully, "Haven't you thought about taking things further with him?"

Zhang Yueran's face turned even redder. "I never dared to think about it before, but now... I'm starting to think about it. I'll ask him tomorrow... and then I'll tell Mom."

Nan Zhiyi teased, "You...you're meeting again tomorrow?"

"I've been free these past few days..." Zhang Yueran twisted the hem of her clothes awkwardly.

Nan Zhiyi smiled knowingly.

Young people in love want to be together all the time, and she understands this feeling best.

"good."

Nan Zhiyi had many things she wanted to tell Zhang Yueran, but felt it was too early to say them now. In the end, she simply patted her sister's hand gently: "You...remember to take care of yourself."

The words were ambiguous, and Zhang Yueran exclaimed "Oh dear!" like a startled rabbit, jumping up and running into the house without looking back: "Okay! I'm going to sleep!"

Nan Zhiyi glanced down at her watch; it was only 8:30.

She shook her head, locked the courtyard gate, and turned to walk upstairs.

Besides the master bedroom's bathroom, there's a shared bathroom on the second floor, usually used by Gu Xiao and his son. Right now, the sound of running water can be heard inside, mixed with Gu Xiao's deep explanations and Gu Zhao's clear questions, seemingly discussing some physics experiment.

After listening to a couple of sentences, Nan Zhiyi turned around and went into Gu Zhao's bedroom.

The room has gradually lost its childish charm. The curtains that used to be printed with little sailboats have been replaced with dark blue checks, and the bedding is a dark green that Gu Zhao chose himself. The desk is twice as wide as before, and it is neatly arranged with "100,000 Whys" and several half-finished model airplanes. There are fewer toys on the storage shelves, mostly science books and globes, but a row of dolls in military uniforms still stubbornly stands on the windowsill.

The wardrobe was replaced with a larger one, and a special hanging area was added.

She took out her pajamas and shorts from the closet, carefully tucked the four corners of the mosquito net in to make sure no mosquitoes got in, and then turned the speed of the table fan down a notch, so it would be cool enough without blowing directly on her.

Just as she finished tidying up, Gu Xiao came in carrying her son, who was bundled up like a big dumpling. Xiao Man's hair was still dripping wet. "Mommy, I need to change my clothes..."

Nan Zhiyi patted his little head: "Okay, okay, Mommy will go out now."

This little guy, taught by his father that boys and girls are different, no longer wants his mother to see him naked.

Nan Zhiyi respected him and handed the pajamas to Gu Xiao.

"I'm leaving our son in your care." Whenever Gu Xiao has free time, he reads with his son every night until the son falls asleep. If he's busy with work, he leaves the task of putting the son to sleep to Nan Zhiyi.

Gu Xiao took the clothes and winked at her.

She returned to the master bedroom, washed up, and sat at her desk, reading and waiting. After waiting for more than half an hour, Gu Xiao quietly pushed the door open and came in.

"Is your son asleep?" she asked, putting down her book.

Gu Xiao walked over and picked her up, placing her on his lap.

Nan Zhiyi gently nudged him: "You haven't showered yet..."

"I haven't done anything yet." He put on a pitiful look and buried his face in her neck.

Nan Zhiyi suddenly felt weak all over and collapsed into his arms like melted candy.

"It's so hot...don't hug me so tightly."

"I'm not afraid of the heat." His hand had already wandered under the hem of her pajamas, his fingertips gently caressing her waist.

Nan Zhiyi pressed his hand down through the fabric of her clothes: "Stop fooling around... I have something important to say."

"Okay, go ahead," he replied, but his lips lingered on the back of her neck, leaving behind a series of delicate pecks.

She suppressed her trembling and told him about Zhang Yueran and Zhou Xingzhi's relationship, including Zhou Xingzhi's plan to visit her.

"Are you going to ask Minister Qin about Boss Zhou's character tomorrow?" She became increasingly dissatisfied. "He's so much older than Yueyue, and he still wants to pay a visit... an old cow eating young grass... disgusting."

Gu Xiao suddenly sucked hard on her neck, and Nan Zhiyi trembled, scolding, "Gu Xiao, why did you suddenly do that..."

"Mmm..." He kissed his way down her collarbone, "This old bull is eating tender grass..."

Nan Zhiyi pushed his head, her fingertips digging into his thick black hair, her voice softening.

"Damn it, I wasn't talking about you..."

The moonlight crept up the windowsill, casting the intertwined shadows of the people on the wall, sometimes bright, sometimes dim.

*

Gu Xiao was truly like an insatiable old ox, nibbling away at Nan Zhiyi, this tender grass, over and over again.

When she was so tired she could barely lift her fingertips, he continued to gently kiss her lips, persistently asking, "My good wife, my dear...am I getting old?"

Nan Zhiyi shook her head haphazardly with her eyes closed, her voice so soft it could melt water: "No, no... Brother is perfectly fine, it's me who's failing..."

He lightly bit her soft flesh as if punishing her: "Just fool me. Say something nice to coax me..."

She barely opened her eyes, her fingertips gently tracing his sweaty back, and whispered a few sweet nothings.

Gu Xiao was pleased by her words and proved with his actions that he was indeed still as good as ever.
