Chapter 18 The Princess's Beloved Dog 4 I love the princess so much! Let me touch the puppy again...
Yuezhi's palms were sore and numb, but the young man beside her showed no sign of stopping.
He seemed to have flipped a tireless switch; his initial awkwardness and bewildered trembling had long been replaced by a burning, vigorous energy.
She was the one who took the initiative to help him out of kindness, but he ended up controlling the situation, and now she can't escape.
"Princess...Princess..." The young man's burning body writhed restlessly, and a muffled, sticky call escaped his throat, thick with nasal sounds, much like a puppy whimpering.
Yuezhi lost her balance and was gently arched by his warm body, her back sinking back into the soft bed. He wasn't satisfied; his furry head rubbed against her neck, his hot breath spraying onto her sensitive skin, sending shivers down her spine.
What's worse, his long, strong legs were also restless, unconsciously rubbing against her legs, causing waves of unfamiliar, unsettling itchiness.
"Aheng, you..." Yuezhi wanted him to calm down, her voice becoming weak due to the ambiguous posture and atmosphere at the moment.
Pei Heng wouldn't listen to a word.
He only felt that the princess smelled so good and felt so soft. Being close to her seemed to soothe the restless energy surging within him.
"Princess, you're so amazing... Hmm... I love it... Touch me a little more..."
Following his instincts, the young man tentatively licked her cheek with his warm, wet tongue, just like when he was a child, his movements full of unreserved intimacy and dependence.
"I like...I like the princess so much..." he murmured indistinctly, his licking trail gradually sliding towards the corner of her lips.
The warm, moist touch was so vivid, a pure, animalistic intimacy that inexplicably stirred the heart.
Yuezhi lay supine on the bed, bearing his weight and agitation. Her heart skipped a beat at the wet, warm licks, as if she had been gently brushed by a feather, and her toes involuntarily curled up.
She instinctively tried to turn her head away, but Pei Heng was surprisingly stubborn, pressing closer again and again with an irresistible force.
Several times, his soft tongue almost brushed against her lips, just a hair's breadth away from actually touching them.
The air was filled with the clean yet burning scent of the young man, mixed with the sweet, metallic smell of passion.
The sighs around her continued, and Yuezhi's heart was pounding wildly. Originally, she only wanted to help him relieve his discomfort, but under his innocent yet passionate advances, she lost her composure and became flustered, yet a faint expectation rose within her that made her cheeks burn even hotter...
The moonlight had not yet faded, and breathing gradually ceased.
*
The morning sunlight streamed into the room. Yuezhi, carrying breakfast, pushed open the door and immediately saw the snow-white figure moving restlessly on the bed.
Pei Heng had reverted to his original form, a fluffy ball that stood out conspicuously against the brocade quilt.
Upon seeing Yuezhi enter, he first suddenly propped himself up on his forelegs, his ears standing straight up, and then excitedly jumped twice on the bed, causing the soft mattress to sink slightly under his feet.
"Awake?" Yuezhi placed the plate on the table, her eyes still flushed and slightly shy.
Last night, listening to his aggrieved complaints during his arousal, I vaguely knew that it was that annoying tabby cat demon who cast some kind of spell, causing him to suddenly go into heat and transform into human form.
The absurdity of that time, even now, seems to leave a lingering warmth on my fingertips.
Pei Heng lightly leaped off the bed, grinned, and moved closer to Yue Zhi. His wet nose gently brushed against her wrist, and his tail wagged like a whirlwind.
"What are you grinning about?" Yuezhi couldn't help but rub his fluffy head.
The big white dog obediently followed her to the table, and with a push of its hind legs, it skillfully jumped onto the chair.
Yuezhi pushed his meat buns and chicken leg in front of him, but Pei Heng used his nose to push all the meat back to her, only taking the steamed bun for himself and lowering his head to drink his porridge.
"What's wrong? Don't you like these anymore?"
Yuezhi was very surprised. Pei Heng, who usually lit up at the sight of meat, had changed his attitude today.
Pei Heng swallowed the food in his mouth, raised his head, and his dark eyes sparkled: "I want to save the best things for you. That's how demon beasts take care of their partners."
Yuezhi nearly choked on her porridge. "What partner?"
"Didn't we mate last night?" Pei Heng tilted his head innocently, his ears twitching slightly with the movement, his round eyes drooping, his expression shy. "Master said that doing this kind of thing means we've decided to be partners..."
She ate her meal silently with her head down, when out of the corner of her eye she saw the big white dog across from her staring at her with a silly grin, its tail wagging happily by the chair, looking completely content.
What a silly little thing.
Yuezhi sighed softly to herself, looking at her transformed appearance, she realized she was quite old, how could she not even know such common sense?
She picked up a meat bun and held it to Pei Heng's lips: "I can't eat this much, can you help me with some?"
Pei Heng hesitated for a moment, but seeing Yue Zhi's insistence, he carefully picked up the bun and swallowed it in a few bites. Yue Zhi then tore off the fattest piece of meat from the chicken leg and handed it to him.
“Partners should share with each other, right?” She winked.
Pei Heng's eyes lit up even more. He nodded, let out a happy "woof," took the chicken, and ate it with relish.
Seeing his satisfied and adorably silly expression, Yuezhi's heart melted.
Well, since he's so happy, let him misunderstand for now. There's plenty of time to explain things later, no need to rush.
After breakfast, Yuezhi began packing her luggage. Pei Heng circled around her, occasionally taking small items from her hands with his mouth and carefully putting them into his treasure pouch.
"I'll take you to buy a horse in a bit, and we can ride horses for the rest of the journey; it'll be faster," Yuezhi said softly as she folded the clothes.
Pei Heng, standing beside her, nuzzled her arm with his head, saying, "I'll do whatever the princess says."
Yuezhi felt ticklish from his rubbing, and she laughed as she rubbed his ears. His snow-white ears trembled gently in her palms, incredibly soft.
"Let's go." She slung her bag over her shoulder and pushed open the door to her inn room.
Pei Heng followed closely behind her, the tip of his fluffy tail gently wrapping around her wrist, revealing an inseparable attachment.
*
Dust filled the air at the horse market, and the neighing of horses of all colors rose and fell.
Yuezhi was carefully examining the teeth of a chestnut horse when Pei Heng quietly squatted at her feet, his snow-white fur standing out in the sunlight.
Several men dressed in coarse cloth exchanged glances and approached Yuezhi with ill intent. They stared at the girl's slender back and then at the seemingly honest and docile white dog beside her, their faces revealing scheming smiles.
Before they even got close, Pei Heng suddenly perked up his ears and his nose twitched slightly as he smelled the intense malice in the air.
"Woof woof woof!"
The big white dog, which had been as docile as a cotton candy just moments before, suddenly stood up, baring its teeth and growling a low warning.
Its tail stood on end, its fur bristled, and its body looked much larger. Its usually smiling black eyes were now sharp as knives, staring intently at the uninvited guests.
The men were taken aback by this sudden turn of events.
"Let's go, let's go. I've never seen such a big dog, and it's always with that girl. It's weird." The leader spat and left with his accomplices, looking annoyed.
At this moment, Yuezhi had already paid and was leading her chestnut horse over. Looking at Pei Heng's still flustered appearance, she immediately understood seven or eight parts of the situation.
"Thank you for your hard work." She bent down and ruffled his hair, her fingertips sinking into the soft white fur.
Pei Heng immediately put away his fierce expression, wagged his tail happily, and rubbed against her palm.
Yuezhi tried to lift him onto the horse's back, but although he looked fluffy and soft, he was actually quite heavy.
Just as she was worrying, Pei Heng lightly leaped and landed steadily on the horse's back, carefully controlling the force with his four paws, as if afraid of scratching the horse.
"That's amazing." Yuezhi praised him with a smile, and casually tidied his slightly messy fur. "Lie still."
She deftly mounted the horse, and the chestnut horse swayed gently under her skillful handling.
"Let's go!" Yuezhi called out softly, spurring the horse's flanks. The horse immediately trotted, carrying the person and the dog through the market.
The horse breeders were dumbfounded.
The little girl looked delicate, but her riding skills were so superb. What was even more amazing was the big white dog, which could lie steadily on the horse's back and adjust its posture with the horse's steps, as if it were a spirit.
"That's incredible..."
"Who is this girl?"
The murmurs were left far behind.
The princess is so amazing, I love her!
*
After a long day's journey, they stayed overnight in a farmer's woodshed. They laid out blankets on a pile of hay, and the soft, comfortable place was very cozy.
Pei Heng curled most of his body into a soft arc, and Yue Zhi slept in this warm embrace. Moonlight leaked in through the cracks in the woodshed, illuminating her peaceful sleeping face.
After falling asleep, Pei Heng had a sweet dream.
In his dream, Yuezhi gently stroked his head and sweetly said to him, "Aheng is the best dog in the world, I love Aheng the most~"
The princess said she liked him! She liked him the most! He was so happy that he almost wagged his tail off, and he even woke himself up laughing.
When he opened his eyes, Yuezhi was still sleeping peacefully in his arms.
By the moonlight, he could see her delicate skin, and her long eyelashes cast a small shadow under her eyes. Compared to when he first met her, the soft curve of her cheeks was thinner, and the resentment and sadness between her brows had disappeared, replaced by tranquility and a smile. There was also a stubbornness in the corners of her eyes that fascinated him.
Despite her seemingly delicate appearance, the princess possesses a resilience and vibrant vitality that rivals anyone else's.
Pei Heng liked her more and more as he looked at her, and couldn't help but want to kiss her cheek. Afraid of waking her, he finally just stuck out his tongue and gently licked the back of her hand that was resting on the hay.
Suddenly, a faint smell of blood entered his nose.
Pei Heng froze, abruptly stood up, and Yue Zhi, still asleep, let out an unconscious whimper, turned over, and continued sleeping.
Is he bleeding? His princess is bleeding?
A tremendous panic gripped his heart: in his limited understanding, bleeding meant injury, meant death.
The big white dog paced anxiously, trying to use its demonic power to heal her wounds, but it couldn't find the injury anywhere. Tears quickly welled up in its beady black eyes, and it looked like it was about to cry.
It's that annoying tabby cat demon.
"Why are you crying so late at night?" The cat demon tilted its head, its emerald green eyes gleaming in the darkness.
"Princess, Princess, she's bleeding..." Pei Heng's voice trembled with tears, "I can't find the wound..."
The cat demon leaped into the woodshed, sniffed closer, and revealed a meaningful smile: "Is this the first time since that night of heat?"
Pei Heng nodded blankly.
"Oh dear~" The cat demon elegantly flicked its tail. "It's a miscarriage. It's all your fault, you stupid dog. You have no sense of consideration at all. You made the princess ride a horse even though you had already mated. A stupid dog like you is not worthy of being her partner. You should leave her as soon as possible."
Pei Heng immediately drooped his ears in sadness. He wanted to refute, but he felt that the cat demon was right. He didn't understand anything... He didn't even notice that the princess was unwell.
"I...I'll go find medicine for the princess right away!" He choked back tears, turned to run out, then suddenly turned back and grabbed the cat demon who was trying to get closer to Yuezhi. "You're coming with me too!"
An hour later, Pei Heng carefully carried back a steaming hot casserole dish wrapped in a hemp rope net.
As he approached the farmhouse where he was staying, he sensed an unfamiliar atmosphere.
A large group of soldiers carrying torches surrounded the woodshed, their bright flames tearing a hole in the night.
Yuezhi had woken up and was standing in the center of the woodshed.
She was only wearing a thin nightgown, her long hair was loose, and she looked even more slender and delicate than usual. However, she stood straight with her chin slightly raised, confronting a tall man.
The man was dressed in general's armor, with a long sword at his waist. He was a full head taller than Yuezhi, and in the torchlight, his shadow almost completely enveloped her.
Pei Heng's claws unconsciously dug into the soil.
The princess is in danger! This thought almost made him rush out immediately.
But he saw Yuezhi raise her hand and calmly tuck a stray strand of hair behind her ear, her movements composed and unhurried, her eyes showing no fear whatsoever.
Pei Heng stood frozen in place, at a loss for what to do.
