Chapter 15: Wet Eyes

Ah Chou's nose felt sore again. She had never known that she was a crybaby, but somehow, today, in this filthy room, facing this paralyzed man, her eyes became wet.

"It's okay if you can't move. I'm still here," Ah Chou said softly. She held the man's shoulders. She wanted to turn the man over so that she could rub his back, but the man was too heavy. Ah Chou tried several times but failed to turn him over. She was so tired that she sat on the bed and gasped for a while. Then she put all her strength into hugging the man's waist again. She tried a few more times, and then tried to put the man's two skinny arms on her neck, and asked the man with a smile: "Can you move your arms? Can you hold me?"

Still no answer. Ah Chou stopped asking. She held the man's waist with all her strength. After gritting her teeth, she turned him over. She was not paying attention. The man's body pressed her head firmly. Ah Chou did not feel embarrassed. She had just rubbed him from head to toe. After getting over the hurdle in her heart, she did not regard him as a man. She only regarded him as a weak person who needed her care and protection. She took a few breaths under the man, facing the man's chest. After she recovered, she was about to get out, but when she saw the flesh on the man's chest in front of her, she got a dense layer of goose bumps.

Ah Chou stared at the red patch of skin with eyes wide open, surprised and delighted: "You...you, you feel something, right? You feel something here, right?"

Not only that, Ah Chou also gently touched the skin with his finger. Sure enough, the skin became redder and goose bumps increased. Ah Chou was overjoyed: "You really have consciousness! That's good! That's good! It can definitely be cured!"

Ah Chou happily crawled out from under the man. She was in such a good mood that she didn't find the dense bedsores on the man's back that irritating. She wiped the man's back while continuing to nag, "I'm not lying to you. I used to wash clothes... No, no, no, it was in our Duan Mansion. There was an old lady named Xiang Mama... She accidentally broke her leg. Everyone said she would never get well, but I thought Xiang Mama would definitely get well. I massaged her legs every day when I had time. Guess what happened? Xiang Mama got well! Although she had to walk with crutches later, she was able to get out of bed. I see your legs are fine, and you're in your prime, so you'll definitely get well faster than Xiang Mama!"

The man's face, buried in the pillow, was a little wet, and his eyelids were trembling violently. The Crown Prince of the Eastern Palace, who had been educated as an emperor since childhood, knew that dignity was more important than life. So in the past six months, no matter how humiliated and abused he had been, he had never begged for mercy, let alone shed a tear. But at this moment, listening to this strange girl chattering all these nonsensical words behind him, his eyes were wet.

His back was gently wiped by the warm handkerchief, and every piece of skin was taken care of. The feeling was so numb. No matter how knowledgeable and broad his vision was, he couldn't find the words to describe the feeling. He just felt that his heart was also numb, and his eyes became wetter somehow.
