Chapter 39 Don't Hold On

Zhong Mingwei swallowed the bun in his mouth while breathing heavily, and then drank two sips of water. He finally came back to life, but he was too embarrassed to eat buns again. He was a little annoyed. He was in his thirties and had always been calm and rational. Why did he become so embarrassed when he was in front of this girl? He must have been infected by this girl...

However, these buns with big fillings are really delicious.

Ah Chou blew on the half bun in his hand and took another bite. After making sure it was not too hot, he passed it to Zhong Mingwei again: "It's not too hot now, eat it."

Zhong Mingwei was still holding his breath, but he had no resistance to the fragrant and greasy buns, so he finally opened his mouth reluctantly.

Ah Chou fed him with one hand and ate the bun with the other hand. While eating, he hummed: "Today is the Dragon Boat Festival. We don't eat rice dumplings, but we eat buns. Haha, do you think there is anything stupider than this?"

Yes! You can get burned even when eating a bun! Isn't that stupid?!

Zhong Mingwei silently despised himself in his heart. But his mouth was not idle. He ate half of the bun in two or three bites. He licked the oil on his lips, still wanting to eat more...

Before Zhong Mingwei could speak, a big bun was delivered to him, followed by Ah Chou's nagging: "Don't burn yourself again!"

Zhong Mingwei was a little angry again and suddenly didn't want to eat the buns anymore. However, he still ate four big buns in the end and stopped only when he was burping. From then on, every meal started with Ah Chou's "Don't eat too much."

Zhong Mingwei became even angrier.

After eating the buns, Ah Chou boiled two large pots of hot water. He had been thinking about washing Zhong Mingwei's hair for the past few days, but he had been too busy to do it. He had just gone down the mountain and bought soap beans, combs and other things, so he finally had everything he needed.

Ah Chou came in with a large basin of water and brought a bucket of hot water into the room. Then he moved Zhong Mingwei towards the edge of the bed so that his head could rest on the edge of the bed, making it easier to wash his hair.

"Is it uncomfortable like this?" Ah Chou was afraid that the edge of the bed was too hard and would hurt Zhong Mingwei, so he took a pillow and put it under his head.

"It's not uncomfortable. It's just right." Zhong Mingwei said hurriedly. He was reluctant to get the pink little pillow wet.

"Okay, let's do this for now. If you feel uncomfortable, just tell me." Achou said as he found a stool and placed the basin on it, just under the edge of the bed. Achou untied Zhong Mingwei's hair tie, gathered his messy hair and put it into the basin, gently rubbing his hair with his thin white hands.

Zhong Mingwei's hair was really dirty. In the first two washes, Ah Chou just rubbed the dirt off his hair without washing it. The water was already black. It was not until the third wash that the water became less murky. Ah Chou then took some soap and rubbed it on Zhong Mingwei's hair. While rubbing Zhong Mingwei's scalp, she asked, "Does it hurt? Is it strong?"

"It doesn't hurt. I can use more force." Zhong Mingwei was so comfortable that he closed his eyes and hummed, his eyebrows moving because of Achou's movements.

Ah Chou liked his relaxed attitude so much that she put more force on her hands, causing Zhong Mingwei to hum even louder. Ah Chou couldn't help laughing: "Were you also like this when you washed my hair before? Aren't you afraid of being laughed at by the servants?"
