Chapter 65 Jujube Tea

"Who is this?" Grandma Chen looked at Ah Chou, put down the needle and thread in her hand, and asked Chen Qingxuan.

"Oh. Grandma, this is..." Chen Qingxuan was busy introducing her to Grandma Chen, but as soon as he said that, he paused. He scratched his head a little embarrassedly. He turned to look at Ah Chou and asked with a smile, "By the way, I haven't asked for your name yet."

"My name is Ah Chou," Ah Chou said timidly. Seeing the spotless house, he felt his shoes were even dirtier, and was too embarrassed to go in. He stood outside the door, pulling at his clothes awkwardly.

"Achou?" Chen Qingxuan frowned. Looking at Achou's face, which was wet with dew and a little red, he felt that the name was too untrue.

"Qingxuan, let the girl in quickly. It's unreasonable to let someone stand outside the door and talk." Grandma Chen said hurriedly, while pouring tea.

"Come in." Chen Qingxuan said hurriedly to Achou.

"No, no, no. I won't go in," Ah Chou was busy putting down the backpack. He wiped his sweat and said to Chen Qingxuan. "Mr. Chen, go find a basin and I'll give you some fungus."

"Let's talk about it after we finish our tea." Chen Qingxuan said hurriedly, while throwing a handkerchief over and saying, "Come in."

Just as Achou was about to refuse, Grandma Chen came up and pulled Achou in without saying anything. Achou had no resistance to elderly people, so she was immediately pulled to sit down by Grandma Chen. By the time she came to her senses, Grandma Chen had already stuffed a cup of hot tea in her hand.

"This is the jujube tea I make at home, please don't despise it, young lady." Grandma Chen said to Achou with a smile.

"No, no, no... this tea is very good," Ah Chou was flattered and took a big sip, then one sip after another. In a blink of an eye, the cup was almost empty. Ah Chou was a little embarrassed, "Grandma, is there any more?"

"Yes, yes, yes! There's still a big pot!" Grandma Chen was so happy that she took a cup and poured Ah Chou a cup of jujube tea. She complained to Ah Chou, "Qingxuan doesn't like jujube tea. He always thinks it has a bad taste. Now I finally met a soulmate."

Chen Qingxuan also filled a cup of jujube tea and sat aside, drinking it intermittently: "Grandma, I didn't say that jujube tea is bad, it's just that you put too much rock sugar every time, and it's too sweet."

"Are you tired of it?" Grandma Chen took a sip and then asked Ah Chou, "Girl, do you feel tired of it?"

Ah Chou was busy shaking his head: "It's not greasy, I have loved sweet food since I was a child, I think it's just right."

Seeing Ah Chou taking half of the jujube tea, Grandma Chen knew that Ah Chou was not lying. She was about to add more tea to Ah Chou, but Ah Chou stopped her in a hurry: "Grandma, I can't drink any more. I really can't drink any more."

"Girl, from your accent, you don't sound like a local." After finishing her tea, Grandma Chen continued to embroider while talking to Ah Chou, "Where are you from, girl?"

"I'm from the capital," Ah Chou said, leaning over to look at the flowers that Grandma Chen was embroidering. Grandma Chen's embroidery was really not very good. Ah Chou looked at it for a long time before he could recognize what she was embroidering. "Grandma, what are you embroidering?"

"Mandarin ducks," Grandma Chen asked Ah Chou casually as she continued embroidering, "Don't you know mandarin ducks?"

Ah Chou looked at the mandarin duck in Grandma Chen's hand again and was immediately at a loss whether to laugh or cry: "Grandma, why is your mandarin duck so fat?"

"Are you fat?" Grandma Chen put down her needle and thread, stared at the embroidery for a long time with a frown, and then said, "I have been embroidering like this for decades."

Chen Qingxuan was drinking tea while listening to their conversation. He accidentally caught a glimpse of a lifelike red plum blossom on Ah Chou's skirt. His eyes immediately lit up. He looked up at Ah Chou and asked, "Miss, do you know needlework?"

"A little bit." Ah Chou nodded.

"You people in the capital are more particular than us here, so your embroidery patterns are definitely much better than ours," Grandma Chen laughed, and while she took a piece of cloth and stretched it flat, she handed it to Ah Chou, saying, "Girl, embroider a flower for me to see."
