The black-faced guard frowned. He had been with Ah Chou for quite a while during the journey, and he had often ordered Ah Chou to do laundry and cook. He could not help but feel a little fond of Ah Chou, and they could only rely on Ah Chou to save their lives. Naturally, he did not want Ah Chou to suffer too much. The black-faced guard was about to bargain with Lao Jiang, but was secretly pinched by the white-faced guard. He immediately fell silent.
"That's right, washing and scrubbing is not what a man should do?" The white-faced guard joked with Old Jiang and patted him on the shoulder. "It's been a while since we last met, Old Jiang, we have to have a few drinks later."
"That's right. No one can escape tonight without drinking ten kilograms of wine!" Old Jiang laughed loudly. He pointed at the carriage. Xie Ning smiled and said, "Hurry up and send the bride to the bridal chamber. We can go down the mountain and drink."
The dark-faced guard walked over, opened the car door, and said to Ah Chou in a deep voice, "Come down."
Ah Chou jumped down from the carriage with the help of his hands. His body tilted and he was about to fall. The dark-faced guard quickly caught him and Ah Chou nodded and thanked him.
It was too dark outside. She couldn't see anything except the three blurry figures in front of her. She was very nervous and scared. She lowered her head and bit her lip, not knowing what was waiting for her next. She was panicking when she heard the sound of flints being struck, and then a burst of fire lit up, illuminating the muddy ground in front of her and her embroidered shoes stuck in the mud.
These were Miss Duan's shoes. They were too small for a noble lady with bound feet who never stepped out of the main house. She could not wear them. She had been wearing her own rags of cloth shoes all the way, but that white-faced guard forced her to change into them this afternoon. Well, how could a bride wear rags of cloth shoes with exposed toes?
Her feet hurt so much that she almost fell when she got off the carriage just now.
"Let me see what a beauty this noble lady from the capital is like." The old man said in a vulgar tone, waving a torch in front of Ah Chou's face.
The torch was too close, and Ah Chou's face seemed to be burned. His hair was singed, and there was a pungent smell of burning fire. The terrible experience of being surrounded by a sea of fire came to his mind. Ah Chou stepped back in horror, but his shoes did not fit his feet, and he fell awkwardly into the mud with a plop.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk, tsk, I thought she was some kind of beauty that could shame the moon and flowers, but that's all," Old Jiang looked at Ah Chou's terrified and embarrassed appearance, and seemed very satisfied. He took back the torch, turned around and stuck the torch into the door knocker behind him, turned around, looked down at Ah Chou and said, "To put it nicely, you are the bride, but to put it bluntly, you are just a slave. From now on, the paralytic inside is your master, serve your master well, if your master is short-lived, then you will definitely not live long, do you understand?"
Half of Ah Chou's body was soaked in mud and water. She climbed up in a panic, nodding her head tremblingly. She was so scared that she opened her mouth but could not speak.
Lao Jiang seemed very satisfied with Ah Chou's reaction. He immediately opened the door behind him and nodded to Ah Chou: "Go in."
It was pitch black inside the door and one could only make out the vague outline of a house not far away, and what seemed to be a kitchen. Ah Chou licked his lips in panic and wanted to ask where he should live, but looking at Lao Jiang's face, he didn't dare to ask.
