Chapter 19 Body Tempering

Qi Zhiheng's soul power slowly explored the medicinal herb pathways, taking half an hour to activate the medicinal properties of the first herb. Qi Zhiheng couldn't help but feel anxious; this medicinal soup contained a total of eighty-seven herbs, most of which needed to have their properties activated. If each took half an hour, by the time the last one was activated, the medicinal power of the previous herbs would have completely dissipated. After activation, herbs typically begin to release their medicinal power after three days. A simple refining process was also needed after activating all of them; he wondered if there was enough time.

Qi Zhiheng could only try to speed up. After activating one medicinal herb after another, he had a pretty good grasp of the common medicinal herbs and his speed gradually increased. In the end, he could activate four or five medicinal herbs in an hour. After finishing, Qi Zhiheng was exhausted and hungry.

After eating some food and resting for an hour, they began preparing for the next step: removing impurities.

Qi Zhiheng probed his soul power into the bronze furnace, accelerating the stirring of the medicinal herbs and slowly dissolving them into the water. At the same time, his hand seals changed continuously. Once the fusion was complete, he began to use his soul power to capture the black molecules in the medicinal soup. These were the toxins present in the medicinal herbs. Qi Zhiheng spared no effort in capturing and removing the impurities, which was even more laborious than stimulating the medicinal properties.

Removing impurities consumed a great deal of soul power, and Qi Zhiheng felt that he was struggling to keep up. He couldn't help but feel annoyed. If he had rested a little longer and waited for his soul power to return to its peak before continuing, it might have been much easier.

It was too late to regret it now. It was all experience, so Qi Zhiheng stopped thinking about it and focused more on refining the medicinal soup.

Six more hours passed, and Qi Zhiheng finally finished refining the medicine. The resulting medicinal soup was a clear, translucent amber color, considered of superior quality. If it could be refined to the highest grade, it would be completely transparent.

At this point, Qi Zhiheng was no longer in a hurry to soak in the medicinal soup. Instead, he rested on the spot, absorbing spiritual energy. Only after he was fully rested and replenished in all aspects did he pour the medicinal soup from the bronze furnace into the bathtub and soak in it.

Qi Zhiheng began to circulate the "Five Elements Body Forging Technique" and began to absorb the medicinal power.

The medicinal power entered his body bit by bit along its pathway, circulating and flowing through his meridians. As the medicinal power entered, Qi Zhiheng's body felt as if countless fine needles were passing through his meridians, and fine beads of sweat appeared on his forehead, which then gathered and rolled into the medicinal soup drop by drop.

Qi Zhiheng's expression was contorted with rage, the pain causing him to groan involuntarily. It was excruciating, as if he were about to lose consciousness. Just as he was about to faint, the pain forcefully pulled him back to the brink of wakefulness.

Qi Zhiheng endured the pain as he guided the medicinal power into his meridians, then separated out the gentler energy and stored it in his flesh and bone marrow.

Time passed slowly, and the energy circulation route seemed to become an instinct of the body. Qi Zhiheng soaked in the water for a full day and night.

The explosive energy circulated through the body, becoming tainted with impurities, before being guided out of the body by Qi Zhiheng.

This cycle continued until the amber-colored liquid turned jet black, at which point Qi Zhiheng stopped practicing his technique.

He could feel some of the impurities in his body being cleared away, and the excruciating pain had lessened considerably.

Qi Zhiheng climbed out of the bathtub, his body still aching slightly. This pain would not disappear until he broke through to the second level, and it would become more intense as he absorbed more and more energy.

Qi Zhiheng put on the clothes. Although he didn't look in the mirror, he could feel that the clothes were much tighter on his body.
