Chapter 300: Indecisive

Yang Yitian was completely bewildered. He couldn't let the child cry like this: "A real man sheds blood and sweat but not tears. Are you a little girl crying like this? Come here, when we get back, your father will prepare some little dresses for you."

Erbao sobbed, "I don't want a little skirt!"

"If you don't want to wear a dress, then don't cry."

Erbao hesitated for a moment: "How about you prepare a little dress for me instead?"

Yang Yitian laughed and flicked his forehead, saying, "You're such a spineless guy. Fine, when we get back I'll prepare a whole closet full of little skirts for you. If you don't wear them, I'll spank you!"

Erbao covered his bottom and shook his head violently, so frightened that he forgot to cry: "Don't spank me!"

"Alright, alright, tell me what happened? You all look so miserable. Your father isn't dead yet."

Erbao patted his belly: "Daddy, our belt is broken!"

"It's broken?" Yang Yitian took the flight belt off his waist and inspected it, saying, "How did it break when it was perfectly fine? What did you all do to him?"

It's understandable if one belt breaks, but it's unacceptable if all three children's belts break.

"It broke while I was playing with it, and it can't fly anymore," Sanbao said innocently.

When Yang Yitian opened the groove containing the spirit stones, he saw that the spirit stones inside had lost their original luster and had become somewhat grayish. He squeezed them and they crumbled into dust.

"It's not broken. The spiritual energy of the spirit stone has run out. Just replace it with a new one." After figuring out the situation, Yang Yitian pulled his sons back home.

Upon learning that the belt wasn't broken, Erbao immediately stopped crying, completely abandoning her previous sobbing. She followed Yang Yitian to go back, still asking, "Daddy, when are you going to get me some spirit stones?"

"Don't think about it today, we'll talk about it tomorrow." Yang Yitian knew that a low-grade spirit stone could be used for half an hour, and half an hour a day was about right. Playing for too long would not only get boring, but it would also affect their studies. Yang Yitian didn't believe in the children's self-control.

On the way back, Yang Yitian asked if he had made any friends or met any people that day.

The children had no concept of this at all and shook their heads.

Yang Yitian felt that there seemed to be nothing for the children to make friends with. Perhaps he could give them something else to play with, as it would be too pitiful if no one played with them.

Da Bao didn't forget his pastries and said to Yang Yitian, "Daddy, we need to bring our own lunch tomorrow. The food in the cafeteria isn't very good."

Yang Yitian thought about it and realized that snacks were a good way to foster friendship. He thought it would be nice to prepare some for his classmates to take with them.

After a few rambling words, we returned to Panyun Peak.

When Qi Zhiheng waited for Yang Yitian to return, he told everyone about the upcoming birthday celebration of Sect Master Que Hanhai and asked his family to think about what birthday gifts to prepare.

Que Hanhai is at the Nascent Soul stage, so the congratulatory gifts they prepared probably won't be of much use. However, those at the Nascent Soul stage probably won't be able to offer very good gifts either, so the Qi family doesn't need to show off too much. But they can't fool him here. The sect leader already knows that he is a level four alchemist and can refine top-grade pills, so they definitely can't offer anything below that level.

After announcing the important matters, Qi Zhiheng then turned his attention to the problems of his sons.

I listened to some of the children talk about what happened at school.

Several children wanted spirit stones, but Qi Zhiheng was only willing to give them one each day. He couldn't bear to see his son wasting his time on frivolous pursuits.

The three children, who each received only one spirit stone, acted in different ways.

Da Bao saw the spirit stone, immediately pried it off, and put it into his storage bag.

The night Erbao received the spirit stone, he flew into the sky for a while. After a while, he got bored because no one was playing with him, so he came down.

Qi Zhiheng personally prepared lunch for his sons that day, and Yang Yitian made extra small snacks for the children to take and make friends.

Yang Yitian also drew a picture and prepared some small toys, because he couldn't keep flying in the sky all the time, and there wasn't much fun in the sky.

The next day, the triplets took their toys and food to school.

After a day of getting used to Luo An'an's teaching, Da Bao became much more accustomed to it. At lunchtime, Da Bao hid his snack and only ate his rice.

Erbao looked left and right and spotted the child who had reminded them to finish their meal yesterday. He went up to him and asked, "I brought some snacks, would you like some?"

The child was somewhat flattered and embarrassed, and said, "You're going to give it to me?"

Erbao nodded: "You helped me yesterday, so my dad told me to bring you some." Yang Yitian was actually only talking about giving it to his classmates, without specifying who it had to be given to.

"Your dad is so nice!" The child looked at the pastries in his food box and his mouth watered. He ate the food from the cafeteria, and his parents had never thought about such details.

Erbao nodded and said, "Now that you've eaten my pastries, you're my friend. What's your name?"

The child, while eating a pastry, replied, "My name is Xi Zhuoyu."

"My name is Qi Boyue," Erbao introduced himself.

Xi Zhuoyu nodded and said, "I know your name. You introduced me yesterday."

After having lunch, Erbao finally took the first step on the road to making friends.

After finishing their meal, Erbao planned to play with his flying belt, but Dabao, ever since he learned that he could only have one spirit stone a day, didn't want to play anymore and just wanted to save the spirit stones.

Sanbao was still interested in the game and went to play it with Erbao.

This time, the two children didn't fly high; they flew low and went unnoticed.

Xi Zhuoyu saw how they played and became very curious, so she chatted with Da Bao next to her: "Qi Boyang, how did your brother and the others manage to do that?"

Da Bao pointed to his belt and said, "I fly with this belt. It's called a flight belt."

Xi Zhuoyu's eyes lit up, and she immediately asked, "You have this belt too, why don't you join in?"

Da Bao frowned slightly: "This belt requires spirit stones; you can't play with it without them."

"Don't you have any spirit stones? How about I trade you some spirit stones for fun?" Xi Zhuoyu did have some spirit stones in her hand.

Da Bao's eyes darted around and he said, "Two low-grade spirit stones for half an hour!"

That's how Xi Zhuoyu traded two low-grade spirit stones for the chance to play the game.

Xi Zhuoyu had not yet drawn Qi into his body, so he could only have Da Bao activate his flight belt for him.

After taking flight, Xi Zhuoyu excitedly fanned her arms, feeling that she had made a worthwhile friend this time!

In the end, Erbao and Sanbao ran out of spirit stones, but Dabao had two spirit stones left.

A glint flashed in Da Bao's eyes, and he stuffed the two spirit stones into his storage bag.

Erbao was still a little reluctant to stop playing, but unfortunately, they ran out of spirit stones and couldn't play anymore. There was still some time before afternoon classes, and Xi Zhuoyu wanted to play more, so she gave Dabao two more low-grade spirit stones in exchange for another chance to play.

The triplets watched Xi Zhuoyu flying in the sky, a hint of envy in their eyes.

"Why does Xi Zhuoyu have so many spirit stones, but we don't?" Erbao asked enviously.

Da Bao said, "He said it was pocket money given to him by his father."

"Why doesn't Father give us pocket money?" Erbao asked again.

"I don't know." Da Bao thought for a moment and said, "Maybe it's because my family is very poor. Xi Zhuoyu's father is an alchemist and has a lot of spirit stones." He had heard Xi Zhuoyu say that his father could refine pills and that alchemists had a lot of spirit stones. Usually, his father would only give him spirit stones and wouldn't play with him.

After hearing Da Bao's description, Er Bao and San Bao were both a little envious. Er Bao asked innocently, "Father is also an alchemist, so how come he doesn't have spirit stones?"

Da Bao thought for a moment: "Maybe Father's alchemy skills aren't good enough. I've heard that alchemists who aren't good at it always lose money. Father has to go to class every day, just like us. I guess his skills aren't up to par. Xi Zhuoyu's father doesn't need to go to class anymore." Da Bao, who couldn't distinguish between teaching and going to school, thought to himself.

Da Bao and San Bao suddenly realized.

Back at Panyun Peak that evening, Erbao, who had always followed Yang Yitian to learn talisman drawing, became uncooperative. Alchemists could earn spirit stones, and with spirit stones, they could play the flying game! So, he betrayed them.

Taking advantage of Yang Yitian's momentary lapse in attention, Erbao ran up to Qi Zhiheng, hugged his leg, and said, "Father, I want to learn alchemy!"

Qi Zhiheng was puzzled by his son's sudden desire to refine pills: "Why did you suddenly decide to refine pills?"

"I want to become a great alchemist and refine lots of pills," Erbao added in his mind, then sold the pills for spirit stones.

Qi Zhiheng said, "Aren't you quite talented at drawing talismans?"

Erbao shook his head: "No, I want to refine pills." He knew that pills could be exchanged for spirit stones, but he didn't know that talismans could be exchanged for spirit stones.

Qi Zhiheng smiled and said, "Alright, then you can learn from me."

Da Bao stepped forward, wanting to learn too.

Sanbao, somewhat confused, followed along.

Qi Zhiheng said, "That's fine, let's all learn together."

At this point, Erbao objected: "No, I want to learn from Great-Grandpa."

Qi Zhiheng chuckled: "What? You're complaining that your father's here?"

Erbao kept quiet. What he was thinking was that his father was unreliable because he still had to go to school, but his great-grandfather was reliable because he no longer had to go to school!

Qi Zhiheng said, "Don't worry, your father can teach you all enough." He then took out a first-class pharmacopoeia and began to teach the children about herbs.

Several children didn't recognize many characters, so Qi Zhiheng taught them by reading and writing them down. Two hours later, Erbao fell asleep listening to him...

Yang Yitian came over to check on the situation and saw Erbao asleep. He sneered, "This little brat is so fickle! First he wanted to draw talismans, then he wanted to refine pills with you, and now he's asleep after listening for only a little while!"

Qi Zhiheng said somewhat helplessly, "Teaching a little bit won't hurt, at least we won't be clueless about treasures when we go out in the future, right?"

Yang Yitian thought about it and realized that Qi Zhiheng's statement was not wrong. He himself had studied all kinds of spiritual herbs.
