Chapter 95 The Bustling General's Mansion

"Tell the truth to your mother, did the prince bully you?"

"No, mother, look at your daughter's mental state, does it look like she's been bullied?"

Mrs. Ye looked Ye Han up and down. He was indeed in good spirits and even a little fatter. She felt relieved and said slowly, "It's definitely not the case."

"Then what's the matter with your hasty return this time?"

Ye Han blushed at this question, not knowing how to answer it. Could she say that she was frightened by the clothes Yue Chengyu bought her, so she ran back to her parents' home?

That definitely couldn't be said. If she did, where would she put her face? Most importantly, how would her mother look at her? At Yue Chengyu?

"The prince is out on business tonight. The general's mansion is too big, and I'm scared to live alone, so I came back to stay. Mother, you won't refuse to welcome me, will you?"

Mrs. Ye looked at Ye Han's pitiful expression. Although she could tell that she was pretending, she was her daughter after all. What could she do? However, Mrs. Ye still asked worriedly, "You really didn't quarrel?"

"Really not."

"That's OK. Mom tells you, there are always disagreements in life. Problems won't be solved if you lose your temper..." Mrs. Ye couldn't help but nag her daughter.

What could Ye Han say? Ye Han didn't dare to say anything. She could only nod in response and say, "Yes, mother, you are right. I have taken note of it. Don't worry."

Ye Han listened to his mother impart her experience. Yue Chengyu returned home, hoping to give his beloved princess a hug. However, upon entering, he saw the living room was empty, with a few delivery bags scattered on the carpet in front of the sofa.

Yue Chengyu didn't think much about it. If the man wasn't in the living room, he must be in the study. Where else could he be? With this thought in mind, Yue Chengyu went to the study, but still couldn't find him. Then, he searched the audio-visual room, the bedroom, the gym... but still couldn't find him.

"Did you go to the shop today?" Yue Chengyu wondered, looking around but finding no one. He didn't think much of it, so he returned to the living room and sat on the sofa. His eyes immediately caught sight of a pile of clothes under the coffee table.

"Why are all these piled up here?" Yue Chengyu wondered as he sorted. But once he pulled out all the clothes and saw the styles, he smiled and thought, "These clothes were delivered pretty quickly." He picked up each piece and examined it, becoming more and more satisfied with his taste.

However, Yue Chengyu was not happy for a while. Suddenly, he thought of something and put the clothes in the bedroom. Then he called the housekeeper, "Did the princess go to the shop today?"

"Your Majesty, the princess has gone to the general's residence."

"when?"

"Just before the prince came back, there seemed to be something urgent, and the princess went there in a hurry."

Yue Chengyu raised his eyebrows after hearing this and said, "Okay, I got it. You can go down. Prepare a horse for me. I'll need it later."

"yes."

Yue Chengyu couldn't help laughing and said to himself, "Ye Zi, aren't you usually brave? Why are you running today?" The more Yue Chengyu thought about it, the funnier it became, and he finally couldn't help laughing out loud.

After laughing enough, he got up and went to the general's mansion.

At the General's Mansion, General Ye and his elder and second brothers returned home and found Ye Han back. After asking if anything bad had happened, they happily started chatting. Just as the family was chatting happily, a servant came in.

"Master, Madam, His Royal Highness Prince Rui requests an audience." Ye Han's face froze when he heard these words, but quickly returned to normal. However, this change did not escape the eyes of the whole family, especially Ye's mother. She had always suspected that something was wrong between the couple, and she looked at Ye Han the moment the words fell.

"Prince Rui?"

"Yes."

"Please come in."

"yes."

"Hanhan, didn't you say that the prince was out on business?" Mrs. Ye asked Ye Han.

"Haha, haha... maybe it was canceled at the last minute."

Mrs. Ye glared at Ye Han, then restrained her expression before Yue Chengyu entered.

"The son-in-law pays homage to his father-in-law and mother-in-law."

"Prince Rui, please stand up and sit down."

"Thank you, father-in-law." Yue Chengyu then sat next to Ye Han naturally.

Ye Han quietly glared at Yue Chengyu, who returned a soothing smile. Ye Han turned his face away. This series of actions happened quickly, but still did not escape the eyes of those present. Ye Han thought he was doing it secretly, and Yue Chengyu didn't care, not avoiding people at all.

Everyone in General Ye's mansion watched this scene and felt relieved. It seemed that their daughter/sister was not being bullied.

"Your Highness, does not the prince have something to go out for? Doesn't he need to prepare?" General Ye was the first to speak.

Yue Chengyu was stunned for a moment when he heard this, then he quickly realized that this was probably an excuse his princess gave to her parents. But what could he do? He could only help to smooth things over, so he said, "There are some temporary changes, so I won't go for now."

But General Ye was very good at judging people. Even though Yue Chengyu was obviously lying, he still couldn't hide it from him. But he didn't expose him. After all, he was just trying to save his daughter's story. Seeing this, General Ye was actually quite satisfied with Yue Chengyu. If he treats my daughter well, then he is a good son-in-law.

"Then your Majesty will eat here tonight?"

"Then I would like to thank my father-in-law for his hospitality."

Ye Han shrank to one side, trying to minimize his presence, but he still couldn't escape.

"Your Highness, you guys chat first. I'll take Hanhan to the kitchen to take a look." Mrs. Ye said at the right time.

Ye Han looked at his mother's eyes and followed timidly.

The mother and daughter returned to Ye Han's room. "Tell me, what's going on? What are you two playing at?"

"Mom, do you really have to tell me?"

"If you don't tell me what happened, I'll just worry about you."

"It's not a big deal, actually."

"Then tell me about it."

"It's Yue Chengyu..." Ye Han calmed herself down and told her mother the whole story of her return to her mother's home.

The more Mrs. Ye listened, the stranger her expression became. Finally, her face was filled with black lines. She opened her mouth, but still didn't know what to say.

"You...you young people are quite creative..." Mrs. Ye looked embarrassed. As Ye Han expected, she really didn't know how to view them for a moment. This was really beyond her understanding.

Finally, I could only change the subject, "Now that Prince Rui is here, will you still live here?"

"Hold on, no matter who comes today, it won't help."

"It's up to you. You can handle it yourself."

Of course, the final result of the discussion was that Yue Chengyu also moved in with them.
