Chapter 1 Murder and Arson

Chapter 1 Murder and Arson

The moon was high in the sky, all was quiet, and the south-facing window was half-open. The light blue curtains by the window were slightly lifted by the wind, separating the two worlds of light and darkness inside and outside the window.

Xiao Qing was half asleep, and in her drowsy state, she thought to herself that the weird smell of this lousy place would never go away in her lifetime, and she never wanted to be exposed to this lousy smell again in her next life.

"Qingqing, Qingqing..."

Stop shouting, I'm too tired.

"Qingqing!"

Xiao Qing's body felt increasingly heavy, yet strangely, she felt herself becoming lighter.

Why are you crying? I've endured this for almost three years, and I'm finally going to enjoy my life. Don't let that unlucky thing fall in front of me.

"Qingqing!"

"Why did you kill her!" A very soft and delicate voice suddenly seemed to pierce through the fog and break through the void, like a sharp knife stabbing into her ears.

pain.

"Run!"

After a moment of weightlessness, her body suddenly became heavy again, as if she had been thrown into an extremely deep and cold lake. She had difficulty breathing, yet miraculously, she felt the weight of life.

She struggled to open her eyes, but the sorrowful and affectionate calls vanished, and before her eyes...

My first thought was, "I've made another day's profit."

My second thought was, where am I?

The third thought was pain, excruciating pain.

She subconsciously looked down and vaguely saw a patch of crimson blood spread across her bright yellow body, and in the center of the crimson was a gleaming, sharp knife, a small part of which shimmered with silver light, the majority of which was stuck in…

Oh my god! No wonder it hurt so much!

Which despicable pervert would even prey on a dying patient, actually...

"Bang!" She shuddered and hurriedly swept her eyes toward the door.

There were two people, one old and one young. This must be a movie shoot. The younger one seemed quite good-looking, although his clothes were a bit disheveled.

This is understandable, as the actors' clothing descriptions are based on the plot.

The old man was dragged along by him, the box on one shoulder slipping down to his elbow. He almost fell several times, begging for mercy, clearly not wanting to come over, but in the end he could only drag the box along.

He acted very convincingly.

The younger man paused as he was about to approach, a flicker of surprise in his eyes. Then, he looked around in what appeared to be fear, but quickly pushed the older man in front of her.

"Hurry up and deal with this. If you dare to play any tricks, I'll kill you right now!" A long sword was pressed against the old man's neck.

Xiao Qing's eyes widened in horror. Was this the end of her?

She struggled to get up, but she couldn't remember the movie at all. However, she was in so much pain that she had no strength left, and no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't get up!

The pervert grabbed her shoulder and urged the old man menacingly, "What are you dawdling for!"

Xiao Qing looked over in horror, trying to make herself see more clearly.

The old man shakily opened the box, took one of the several gleaming white knives and some other things from inside, and then pounced on her, tearing at her clothes.

Xiao Qing was shocked and shouted, "You..."

Everything went black before her eyes, and her head was pressed into a warm, damp embrace. From above, she heard that young voice: "It's okay, it'll be alright, it'll be alright."

Killing someone is just a matter of beheading them, what kind of nonsense is this?!

"Ouch! That hurts like hell!"

But even in the excruciating pain, she struggled to keep her eyes wide open, letting the damp cloth rub against her eyelids repeatedly, refusing to close them no matter what.

calm!

Hold on!

"Grand Tutor... Grand Tutor, the bandage... it's all bandaged up..."

The darkness that had blocked their view receded, and the younger man, sword in hand, was about to plunge it into the old man's heart.

Xiao Qing didn't dare close her eyes for a moment, her mind already filled with a hundred and one terrible thoughts.

This is definitely not a movie scene. Who the hell would torture an extra to death like this in a movie?

In the despair and fear of death, the old man suddenly burst forth with courage. "Grand Tutor! His Majesty's injuries are too severe, and he still needs someone to take care of him. If you kill me, His Majesty will not be able to escape either, and he will surely die on the way!"

The man known as the Grand Tutor paused, as if deep in thought.

The sounds of fighting and arguing in the distance seemed to grow closer.

The Grand Tutor made a quick decision and said coldly, "Pack up." Then he turned and went to the side, where a person was lying, dressed in the clothes of a palace servant, convulsing. He seemed to be seriously injured but not quite dead yet.

Grand Tutor swiftly ended his life with a single sword stroke, then dragged him to Xiao Qing's side, his eyes cold and piercing.

Simple and straightforward.

Xiao Qing just watched, her heart pounding, each beat causing excruciating pain and feeling icy cold.

But she endured it, without screaming or making any rash moves, simply watching, calmly and somewhat indifferently.

The Grand Tutor glanced at her, then rolled up a brocade quilt next to him, wrapped her up, and picked her up, trying his best not to aggravate her wounds even in the rush. Then he said coldly to the old man, "Burn it, start burning this dragon bed."

Without a word, the old man picked up the box, his body trembling, and hurriedly knocked down the palace lantern beside him, instantly spreading flames across the bed.

The Grand Tutor said, "The fire must not be set off to one side."

The old man's body was trembling. At that moment, he knocked over a palace lantern, which landed squarely on the man who had just been finished off by the Grand Tutor.

As Xiao Qing watched the light rush towards him, he unconsciously closed his eyes, thinking to himself that he was doomed.

The Grand Tutor carried her forward. "They've all been burned."

So she watched as the old man knocked down the palace lanterns one by one behind them, and flames rose up all around. In no time, the entire room was engulfed by flames, and the red light illuminated half of the darkness.

It was both painful and exhausting.

Xiao Qing thought: I didn't kill her just now, so she shouldn't ask me to die so easily now.

For now, it should be safe, right?

In her dazed state, she heard the muffled thuds of swords piercing her body and saw one person after another fall beside her. Even though she was wrapped up and being held, she felt cold and in pain, and trembled uncontrollably.

Finally, unable to hold on any longer, she managed to lift her eyes one last time to look at the ancient palace engulfed in flames. Then, the crimson light turned into a line, and the entire world went black amidst the bloody chaos.

Everything's in chaos.

When Xiao Qing woke up again, she was in a bumpy carriage.

The car was filled with my old partners, one old and one young, and her lying on a thick, soft cushion.

Xiao Qing then realized that the man in front of her, who should be considered a young man, was extremely handsome, about twenty years old, with bright eyebrows and eyes, clear features, and very good skin.

He was sitting upright with a frown on his face, his thin lips pressed tightly together, as if he were deep in thought.

Even after the chaotic battle of death and fire, this man showed no sign of fear or despair...

Recalling his past actions, Xiao Qing shuddered, thinking to himself that he was a ruthless character who killed without blinking an eye.

Slightly lost in thought, she recalled the past, connecting the dots. She knew that what happened before she fell asleep was her past life, and what happened now was probably her present life.

But in this life... I woke up amidst bloodshed and murder, and now I'm wandering the road wounded, not knowing what fate awaits me.

It's probably not a good hand.

In a daze, she thought, so what? It's better than still struggling and enduring in the past life, dragging others down, hurting their feelings, and having a whole circle of people wasting their time following her, a person who was destined to die, and no one could find happiness.

It's already good. It's very good. Xiao Qing comforted herself, her eyes growing increasingly vacant.

The young man looked over. "Awake? Feeling better?"
