Noon.
Dressed in the formal attire of an empress, Guan Zhiyue sat on a high seat on the dam, looking down at all the soldiers below. Long tables were set up in front of her, for celebrating her birthday today.
For this, Shirley Kwan even took out three modern birthday cakes from her space. They were super big, about five or six layers high.
That's enough for every soldier in the entire camp to have a piece. It's her birthday banquet, and she wants everyone present to be happy for her and to have a good time together.
"Your Majesty, everything is ready. We may begin serving the dishes and starting the banquet." The head chef came out and respectfully reported to Guan Zhiyue.
"Alright, let the feast begin!"
No sooner had the words left his mouth than a loud voice came from the doorway.
"Wait a moment!"
Everyone looked outside and saw Yuan Ningsu wearing a mint green brocade robe, with a belt with a blue and white pattern of children playing around his waist. He had flowing hair, blue phoenix eyes under his eyebrows, and a tall and elegant figure.
He strode over, fanning himself as he walked, with Su Xuan behind him carrying a box tied with red silk, presumably a congratulatory gift.
"Happy birthday, Your Majesty. May I ask for a drink today?" Yuan Ningsu walked up to Guan Zhiyue and asked softly.
Guan Zhiyue smiled and had a table added. "Of course, Your Highness, please have a seat!"
Because of this delay, Bilian and the others arrived just in time.
"Reporting to Your Majesty, Princess Chang Le has arrived." A soldier ran in respectfully and said to Guan Zhiyue.
Guan Zhiyue was overjoyed and stood up from her seat, looking outside. "Bring her in quickly."
Bilian carried Chang Le on her back, with Ji Shang and a few others following behind. They returned to the military camp and were very pleased to see the red ribbons hanging there.
"This servant greets Your Majesty the Empress." Bilian immediately knelt down in the middle of the dam.
Guan Zhiyue quickly stepped down from below, lifting her skirt. "Get up! What brings you all here?"
"Oh dear, my little Chang Le!"
"Quickly put him down, let Mother hold him!"
Guan Zhiyue was overjoyed, never expecting to see the little one she had been longing for on her birthday!
Looking at Guan Zhiyue, who had become even thinner, Bilian's eyes couldn't help but redden. She was both happy and sad; her mistress had suffered these past few months.
"Your Majesty, you have suffered so much..." Bilian reached out and held Guan Zhiyue's hand, her voice slightly choked, but she still held firm and did not cry.
"Silly girl, don't be sad. Come on, let's eat first."
"Head Chef, dinner is ready," Guan Zhiyue said quickly, looking at the chefs waiting for her.
The head chef, standing nearby, quickly clasped his hands in a fist and said, "Yes, I will arrange it right away."
So everyone found a place to sit down. In the military camp, there was no distinction between master and servant; everyone ate from the same pot of food.
Therefore, Guan Zhiyue did not say anything about having Bilian and Jishang serve her, and even Suqing and Suming, who came with her, were given seats.
Chang Le looked at Guan Zhiyue and stretched out her hands, then laughed heartily.
A general looked at the child, then at the Empress, and said, "Empress, this must be our Princess Chang Le, right? I've long heard that Your Majesty adopted a daughter, and seeing her today, she is indeed adorable and lively!"
Guan Zhiyue held Xiao Chang Le in her arms, stood on her lap, held Chang Le's hand, teased her, and said to the soldiers below, "Little Chang Le, look, all the uncles like you!"
"Greetings, Princess Chang Le!"
I don't know who started it, but everyone saluted each other in unison. Although they were all sitting, they still showed great respect to Chang Le.
Guan Chengheng looked at Xiao Chang Le with great joy, stretched out his hands, and said to Guan Zhiyue, "Little sister, let me hug you too. I'm her second uncle, after all!"
"Changle, do you want your uncle to give you a hug?"
Guan Zhiyue turned Xiao Changle around to face her. Xiao Changle is only a little over six months old. She can crawl and roll over. She is very well-behaved, chubby and cute.
"Hehe, hehe~~" Little Chang Le is at the age where all she does is laugh and grab things everywhere, and likes to pull things around.
I found Xiao Chang Le this spring, and now it's autumn, more than half a year later. I haven't seen her for two or three months.
She has now learned to crawl and roll over. When we first found her, she was just a baby in swaddling clothes, only able to cry. Now she has learned to smile.
Guan Zhiyue stared at Xiao Chang Le, and some thoughts began to flow through her mind.
"Happy birthday, Your Majesty!" Just as Guan Zhiyue was still in a daze, everyone raised their bowls and respectfully toasted her!
Guan Zhiyue snapped out of her reverie, picked up the fruit wine on the table, and replied, "Let's all have a good time! Eat and drink well."
"Thank you, Your Majesty!"
The soldiers at the naval camp were drinking merrily, while Li Qiji and his men, adrift at sea, were fighting fiercely. This time, the Japanese and the pirates had joined forces.
The pirate ships and the Japanese ships surrounded Li Qiji and his group. The Japanese had somehow managed to sneak up behind them without anyone noticing.
No wonder he said he had stayed for half a month and hadn't seen the Japanese attack them; it turned out they had circled around behind them.
"Your Majesty, give the order to attack! If this continues, we'll be surrounded and killed." Chen Jianjun's voice was tense as he looked at the enemy ships all around him.
Looking at the monitor, Li Qiji saw that it was indeed the case, so he took a deep breath and pressed his hand on the alarm.
"Fight! This time, we'll have to fight for these supplies ourselves."
The soldiers on the ten ships were all excited when they heard the alarm from the main warship. They were finally able to deal with these scoundrels. They had waited so long, and they had finally gathered them together.
"Fire!"
With a loud shout, the five modern warships turned around, pointing their cannons in all directions. Once they found their targets, all the explosive shells flew out in unison.
The Japanese and pirates, who had planned this all along, were overconfident that as long as they caught the cannonballs, they could bounce them back to Li Qiji and his men.
'But the shells exploded as soon as they landed on their ships, and some even almost exploded. The broken limbs and fragments also injured them beyond recognition!'
"Baka! Who said you could catch it?"
"That's utter nonsense!"
"Which bastard said that?"
The Japanese general was so angry that he threw down his teacup and turned to run away, but Li Qiji had already said he needed supplies, so how could he let these big fish get away?
He then ordered everyone to continue firing, and five more cannonballs were fired in quick succession, blasting the ships from all directions to smithereens!
Those ships that were farther away, those with good eyesight, turned around and quietly sailed away when the cannons were fired.
