The result of exercising all night was that she couldn't get up the next day. Gu Changqing obviously knew that he had lost control last night, so he was very considerate and didn't wake her up early in the morning.
So when Bai Ruozhen got up, it was already past nine o'clock. She looked at the time and got up quickly. Today was the day to go back to her parents' home. Although her parents' home was in the provincial capital, her mother and younger brothers and sisters were waiting for her at the educated youth site.
Gu Changqing heard the noise and pushed the door open, saying with a flattering smile, "Zhenzhen, I just came back from Mom's. They're still having breakfast. After breakfast, let's go over and sit down. I'll take you to the beach, and then we'll take you to Penglai when we have the chance."
"Penglai?" Bai Ruozhen was startled, forgetting to settle accounts with Gu Changqing. "Is this the Penglai mentioned in the mythological books? Are there really immortals there? Are there any rare and precious herbs there?"
Her barrage of questions left Gu Changqing in a state of confusion. "That's all fake, but Penglai is indeed very beautiful, with stunning scenery. I'll take you there when I have the chance."
Bai Ruozhen felt a little disappointed, "Oh." It turned out that they were all fake.
"Get up, I've heated up the food." said Gu Changqing.
"Where are Mom and the others?" Bai Ruozhen put on his clothes and came out, only to find that they were the only two people left at home.
Gu Changqing said, "My third brother and his wife have returned to Yancheng to work, and my parents have gone to the fields to harvest the wheat."
"Should we go help?" Bai Ruozhen asked with a guilty conscience. "They're working. Isn't it a bad idea for us to go out and play?"
Gu Changqing smiled and said, "That's nothing. We just got married. Who would start working in the fields right after getting married?" He glanced at Bai Ruozhen and said, "Besides, how much can you do if I ask you to do it?"
The teasing in his tone was too obvious, and Bai Ruozhen's face immediately turned red. "I, I can exercise more."
"So you want to go to work?" Gu Changqing poured cold water into the basin for her to wash her face. "How about we go to work?"
Bai Ruozhen seemed frightened and quickly shook her head, "No, no." She didn't want to go. She said that just to save face. It would be embarrassing to let her go to work in the fields.
Gu Changqing burst out laughing, "Okay, wash your face, brush your teeth and eat."
Bai Ruozhen washed her face, and Gu Changqing considerately handed her a towel. Bai Ruozhen smiled at him, took it, wiped the water droplets off her face, and then returned to the house to evenly apply the skin care products on her face.
"Zhenzhen, your skin is so nice." Gu Changqing stared at Bai Ruozhen and felt his mouth dry.
Bai Ruozhen gave him a bright smile, and then heard Gu Changqing continue to say, "It's so slippery and nice to touch."
Bai Ruozhen's smile froze, and then turned red. Then he hit him with his hand, "I told you not to talk nonsense, I told you not to talk nonsense."
Gu Changqing was cheerful and didn't hide. He let her hit and tickle him twice. He suddenly hugged Bai Ruozhen and said, "I'm telling the truth."
Of course Bai Ruozhen knew what she looked like. Not only did God let her live longer in this world, but he also gave her a good appearance. Her skin was as white and tender as tofu just out of the pot. Not to mention the grown man Gu Changqing, even she felt it was nice to touch when she was taking a bath.
Gu Changqing reached out and touched her arm and said, "I'll give you a gift when we get back to our home in Yancheng."
"What gift?" Bai Ruozhen moved his dishonest claws away and asked curiously.
Ever since Bai Ruozhen knew that Gu Changqing had that supermarket, she was full of curiosity. She felt that the things in there were really complete, and maybe there would be some good stuff at any time. So when Gu Changqing mentioned it, she immediately thought of buying things from the supermarket.
Gu Changqing's eyes swept across her chest intentionally or unintentionally, and he said mysteriously, "You'll know when the time comes."
Bai Ruozhen curled her lips, pushed him away, re-combed her braids, and then went to the main room to eat.
It was almost ten o'clock after dinner. The two of them took the gifts that Qiu Lanying had prepared in advance and went to the educated youth site.
Li Qiulan and her three children had already eaten at the educated youth center. The educated youth had all gone to work in the fields, and the four of them, mother and children, were waiting for their daughter and new son-in-law at the educated youth center.
Gu Changqing came once in the morning and brought breakfast before leaving. He was bored now.
"Mom, I think I shouldn't have done that before. Life in the countryside is so hard. I don't know how much my second sister suffered back then." Bai Liqiang lived here for two days and although the food was good, even better than what they ate at home, but looking at the environment he always felt that his second sister had suffered.
He went for a stroll this morning and saw the fishermen out to sea and the farmers harvesting wheat. Their lives were truly tough. Not to mention his second sister, even Bai Liqiang himself felt like he couldn't make it. Yet, his second sister managed to survive in this environment and even brought home so many good things for her family. How hard it must have been.
So when Gu Changqing didn't know, his brother-in-law completely forgot about him. Then when Bai Ruozhen and Gu Changqing arrived at the educated youth site, they saw Bai Liqiang looking at Bai Ruozhen with a sad face, and then he took Bai Ruozhen's hand and said that she had suffered.
Bai Ruozhen was completely confused and had no idea what Bai Liqiang was talking about. She looked at Li Qiulan, who was completely bewildered. "I went out this morning and came back like this."
Bai Ruozhen burst out laughing, "Do you think I work in the fields like them?"
Bai Li nodded eagerly.
"I really didn't do much work," Bai Ruozhen said. "At first, I couldn't even learn how to mend fishing nets, so Sister Xiaoqiu and Sister Xia mostly helped me. Later, working in the fields...it's hard to put it into words, but I didn't do much work anyway."
The memory was too erased, and Bai Ruozhen feels ashamed when she thinks about it now. If it weren't for her Xiaoli and her eldest brother Changqing helping her with the work, she would have starved to death long ago.
