Chapter 27

Seeing him like this, Qiu Lanying thought for a moment and said, "How many kilograms do you want? We only have a few dozen kilograms at most, and we have to save some for ourselves."

Gu Changqing said, "My uncle said that his car is full of small handicrafts, so we can take more seaweed and other things. If we wrap them up and stuff them into the corners, we can still fit a lot. Besides, the management in the Northeast is not as strict as other places. If you are careful, nothing will happen. The main thing is that opportunities are rare. My uncle's car is mostly used in the surrounding areas these days, and there is nothing good to sell. It's a rare trip to the Northeast, so I have to make some money."

After he said that, Qiu Lanying was confused again, "Can your uncle drive alone to such a far place?"

Gu Changqing started to show off again, "And me."

"When did you learn to drive?" Qiu Lanying found that she really didn't understand her son at all.

"I learned it right after I graduated from high school. My uncle taught me, and he made an agreement with the company that I would go with him as a replacement driver, and I would only get half the salary."

Qiu Lanying was delighted when she heard this. "Then can you go directly to work at the transportation company when you come back?"

Gu Changqing pretended to be reserved and said, "It depends on my mood."

"You damned child." Qiu Lanying slapped him with a smile, then said, "Tell me how much you want, and I'll go get some from your aunt."

"One or two hundred kilograms? Just don't exceed three hundred kilograms. But don't just do this, get some scallops, dried shrimps and so on, they are all good things." Gu Changqing said.

"Okay, I'll take care of it." Qiu Lanying said happily, "By the way, your sister has been at your grandma's house for several days. Why hasn't she come back yet? Go pick her up this afternoon. Why is she staying at your grandma's house during the New Year?"

"Okay." Gu Changqing got his mother's promise not to rummage around and planned to go back to sleep.

Qiu Lanying stopped him and said, "You sleep all day, do something serious."

Gu Changqing said helplessly, "In the middle of winter, what else can I do if I don't go out to sea or sleep?"

"Go check on your wife." Qiu Lanying rolled her eyes at her. "I forgot about it yesterday, but now you've mentioned it. Bring some kelp and dried fish over and ask her to make some soup."

Gu Changqing didn't know whether to laugh or cry. "Mom, stop calling me wife-in-law. There's nothing wrong between us. We've only met a few times. Don't let anyone hear this."

"Your mother isn't stupid." Qiu Lanying said as she quickly packed some kelp and two dried fish. "Send it over quickly."

Gu Changqing sighed and resigned himself to delivering the items.

But on the way, Gu Changqing felt embarrassed again. Why did he keep dreaming about this girl recently? Could it be that he really fell in love with her?

Gu Changqing sighed as he arrived at the educated youth camp. He ran into Li Ming coming out from next door. Li Ming remembered him and greeted him, "Brother Gu, what are you doing here?"

Gu Changqing raised his hand but didn't say anything, then entered the female educated youth site.

Even in the middle of winter, there was no need to worry about no one being home. Gu Changqing called out, "Bai Ruozhen, I've brought you something. Come out and get it."

Bai Ruozhen felt much better after a night's sleep. He was leaning on the kang watching Zhu Guixia and others doing needlework when he heard this shout.

Zhao Lai Di over there opened the window a little and looked out. She saw Gu Changqing holding something in his hand and muttered, "Shameless, having an affair."

"Zhao Lai Di, I'm warning you, it's best not to cause trouble. The folks in our Xiahe Village are all kind-hearted. Aunt Qiu must have asked Gu Changqing to deliver the things because she knew Zhen Zhen was sick. Don't be so shameless and keep talking about having an affair with a man or a woman." The female educated youth Huang Yun said.

Zhao Lai Di was a little scared of Huang Yun, so she closed the window when she heard that.

Bai Ruozhen also recognized Gu Changqing's voice. He was stunned for a moment and then quickly put on his cotton coat and trousers and prepared to go out.

Zhu Guixia stopped her and said, "I'll go get it."

Bai Ruozhen shook his head and said, "I'm fine now. I just want to go and thank him." Then he got off the kang and walked out with his hands clasped behind his back.

Gu Changqing stood in the yard with his hands almost frozen. He looked at the door and when he saw it open, he quickly stood up straight to make himself look taller.

The little girl was dressed warmly and had a Lei Feng hat on her head. Her face was slightly flushed, but she looked much better than yesterday.

Gu Changqing breathed a sigh of relief unconsciously, and then the little girl with a pouting mouth who asked him if he liked her appeared in his mind again, and his face suddenly turned red.

Bai Ruozhen approached him, mistaking the blush on his face for the cold, and quickly smiled, "Thank you for troubling Brother Gu again. Thank you so much, Aunt Qiu. I don't need anything, so you don't need to send me anything."

Gu Changqing licked his dry lips and handed the thing over. "Here, there's nothing good to eat in winter. Let me make some soup."

Bai Ruozhen took it and thanked her repeatedly, "Please say thank you to Aunt Qiu for me. You are so polite."

Gu Changqing hummed unnaturally, but his eyes unconsciously fell on Bai Ruozhen's tender lips, "Well, then I'll go back first." After saying that, Gu Changqing fled in embarrassment.

Bai Ruozhen, holding the kelp and fish, watched Gu Changqing hurried away, a little confused. Was she too scary? Why did she run away in such a hurry?

Just as he was about to turn around and go back into the house, he heard a voice coming from the door. He turned around and saw Li Ming standing up. He smiled and said, "Comrade Li Ming."

Li Ming glanced at what she was holding and forced a smile. "Are you familiar with Gu Changqing?"

"Ah?" Bai Ruozhen blinked, "I'm not familiar with him."

"profound."

"She's a nice girl, very nice to me." Bai Ruozhen said, stamping his feet. "It's cold, I'm going inside."

"I..." Li Ming didn't say anything, Bai Ruozhen had already trotted into the house.

Li Ming looked at the deep and shallow footprints on the road, sighed, and returned to the male educated youth point next door.
