Chapter 333 Bitten

Jiaming was holding a list and discussing things with a servant when she suddenly sensed someone approaching, and it seemed to be Hongxuan.

Following my thoughts, I looked towards the door and saw a young boy walk in with a sunny smile.

The whole person was surrounded by the scent of sunshine, but not dazzlingly so; it felt like the perfect spring sunshine.

"Greetings to Mother!" Hongxuan gave Jiaming a swift bow.

"You're here!" Jiaming said with a smile.

She had just gestured for Hongxuan to come over when a little ball of fluff darted past her and pounced on Hongxuan's legs.

Upon closer inspection, everyone realized that Tuanzi was none other than the Fifth Prince, Hongjing.

"Brother, brother!" The little kid hugged Hongxuan's legs and looked up excitedly.

Hongxuan bent down and hugged little Hongjing tightly. "Little brother, come here, let your big brother hold you!" he said, lifting him up steadily. Then he took a few steps, carried him back to the mat, and put him down. "Let's sit here."

As he spoke, he sat down as well, continuing to hold Xiao Hongjing in his arms, but his eyes were fixed on the little eunuch who had come with him.

The young eunuch immediately took out a small Rubik's Cube from his pocket. This Rubik's Cube was quite peculiar; some were plated with gold, some with silver, some were in their original color, and some were inlaid with gemstones of other colors.

Since the Rubik's Cube appeared, Xiao Hongjing's gaze had not left it, and his eyes followed it after Hongxuan took it.

After Hongxuan discovered it, he couldn't help but shake the Rubik's Cube around. Little Hongjing's eyes rolled around, and his appearance was both funny and cute!

"Pfft!"

Not only Hongxuan laughed, but Jiaming, who had been watching the two brothers play around, also laughed.

Little Hongjing, who was being laughed at, was a little annoyed. He wanted to turn his head away defiantly, but his eyes just wouldn't leave the Rubik's Cube. He was even more annoyed and couldn't help but puff out his cheeks again and again.

"Alright, I'm not teasing you anymore. This was specially made by your brother. Here you go." With that, he placed the Rubik's Cube in Xiao Hongjing's hand.

Xiao Hongjing excitedly hugged the Rubik's Cube and rubbed it against him, then suddenly leaned close to Hongxuan's face and gave him a wet kiss.

Hongxuan was immediately tempted, looking at his younger brother's pink and tender face, which looked very delicious. He had kissed it before; it was soft and tender. But he wanted to bite it, or rather, kiss it.

Although he's too old to be doing this, didn't Mother say that we don't have to be so serious in private?

Having thought it this way, I acted accordingly.

"Ah!" Little Hongjing covered his cheek with one hand and held the Rubik's Cube in the other, staring wide-eyed at his older brother Hongxuan in disbelief.

If you've been bitten, how can you bite someone else?

Shouldn't they be related by blood?!

The little guy got so angry he turned into a pufferfish.

Hongxuan looked away, feeling guilty and unwilling to meet his younger brother Hongjing's gaze, but he didn't regret biting his brother's tender, smooth cheek. The feeling was so cute and pleasant!

"Brother, you're bad!" the little guy continued to complain about his brother who was avoiding his gaze.

Hongxuan argued in his heart that he wasn't bad. His bite was controlled, light, and painless, almost like a kiss!

Well, he's a magnanimous person, so I won't bother arguing with such a petty person.

"Well, little brother, you play with the Rubik's Cube first, I'll talk to Mother first." With that, he stood up abruptly, left his younger brother Hongjing, and sat down on the chair to Jiaming's left.

With his mother in the middle, and his younger brother Hongjing, being too short to see his side, Hongjing finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Jiaming looked at Hongxuan with a half-smile, still holding the list in her hand. She leaned towards Hongxuan and asked in a low voice, careful not to let Hongjing hear, "What's wrong? You weren't afraid of making your brother angry when you bit him, so why are you scared now?"

Hongxuan smiled and said, "I'm not scared, I was just momentarily at a loss. I'll apologize to my brother later." After saying that, she picked up a mung bean cake from the table next to her, took a bite, swallowed it, and continued to ask, "By the way, Mother, what were you preparing for my trip to the borderlands?"

"Mm!" Jiaming nodded in response.

Suddenly, Hongxuan saw the long list of items on the list. He blinked, somewhat bewildered. "Mother, didn't you tell Granny Sun to pack as well? I saw she had quite a lot, how come you have so many more?"

"Is it a lot? Not at all!" Jiaming asked herself, then held up the list in front of the two of them with one hand and pointed to the items on the list with her index finger to explain to Xiao Hongxuan.

In this way, it might be useful in certain situations; in that way, it might be needed in certain situations; and so on... In short, it's not something you absolutely have to use, but you might need it in a "what if" situation.

In short, it's better to have everything prepared than to have nothing prepared.

Upon hearing this, Hongxuan nodded. "But, can we carry so many things?"

"Don't worry, your mother has experience packing for the southern tour. There's a place to put all these things, so you don't need to worry about not being able to carry that much," Jiaming said confidently.

"Okay, son was overthinking it."

"Oh, right," Jiaming remembered that she still had something to tell Hongxuan, so she continued, "On this journey, listen to your father. Also, you must take good care of yourself. Try not to be alone, as that is when people take advantage of you the most."

Hongxuan immediately patted his chest and promised, "Mother, I will be careful and won't let myself get it again."

Upon hearing this, Jiaming couldn't help but reach out and pat his head.

Xiao Hongxuan then seized the opportunity to get close to Jiaming, and the little guy whispered a secret promise: "Mother, I understand, I will be careful of my stepmother."

Upon hearing this, Jiaming was taken aback, realizing that the little guy had become more sensible. However, she didn't really want him to understand these things, but whether it was the apocalypse in her past life or the royal life in this life, he had to understand these things.
