"Eunuch Su, thank you for bringing the Fourth Prince back again." Jiaming said politely after glancing at the sleeping baby in Granny Sun's arms.
"Master Guarjia, you're too kind." As he spoke, Su Peisheng couldn't help but look at Jiaming with pity.
Jiaming unexpectedly met Su Peisheng's gaze, and her heart instantly filled with unease.
He couldn't help but wonder: What did Su Peisheng mean by that look in his eyes?
However, just as she lowered her eyes to think, she caught a glimpse of Granny Sun's hesitant expression out of the corner of her eye.
Her heart skipped a beat; she felt uneasy!
When Granny Sun saw the questioning look in her master's eyes, she pondered for a moment, then stole a glance at Su Peisheng. Seeing that he was pretending to be deaf and dumb, she suddenly realized what was going on.
Su Peisheng's master was Prince, and his every move often represented Prince's will.
The way he's acting makes it clear what he means—he wants the master to know what's happening in the palace.
After a short silence to gather her thoughts, Granny Sun began to recount the events that had transpired in the palace.
Upon hearing this, Jiaming felt like she was about to faint and immediately pretended to be sick.
Unfortunately, it was too late.
Sure enough, as soon as Granny Sun finished speaking, Jiaming heard Su Peisheng's voice, "Master Guarjia, the master said he will stay here tonight. He will have dinner prepared here."
I'm so frustrated I could cry!
After saying that, Su Peisheng left.
Jiaming was stunned by Su Peisheng's words and didn't even know when he left.
It took Jiaming a long time to come to her senses.
She reached out, leaned against the red peach, and walked stiffly into the inner room, approaching the small couch.
On the small couch, Xiao Hongxuan was placed on it before Jiaming.
After Jiaming got into bed, she couldn't help but cast a mournful look at Xiao Hongxuan, who was sleeping soundly.
Looking at the little one sleeping soundly, Jiaming felt increasingly resentful.
Waaah, why is she so unlucky? Her kids are such a burden to their father. Even if that's bad enough, at least they shouldn't drag her down with them.
Lost in her sorrow, Jiaming failed to notice that the child on the bed was about to wake up.
Xiao Hongxuan's long, thick eyelashes fluttered incessantly, and suddenly, his eyes opened.
It was all foggy; you could tell he was drowsy just by looking at him.
The little guy stretched out his little fist, rubbed his eyes, and the mist in his eyes quickly dissipated, gradually revealing clear eyes.
When he finally saw the figure in front of him clearly, the little guy was stunned for a moment. Then he blinked and asked in his childish voice, "Mommy, what's wrong?"
Hmm, Mother, it looks bitter.
Upon hearing this, Jiaming complained, "It's all your fault."
"Me?" The little guy's eyes widened, and his chubby fingers couldn't help but point to his little chest.
"It's you." Jiaming gently poked Xiao Hongxuan's forehead with her index finger and continued, "Didn't you promise your mother this morning that you wouldn't talk about your father?"
“Xuan’er didn’t say anything!” the little guy said confidently. “Yes, he did say something, uh, Zhang Shi (that’s what Father calls her), fell down, but didn’t say anything, Father, bad things, Xuan’er is a good boy, wants cake to eat, won’t say anything.”
After hearing what Granny Sun said, Jiaming compared it with what Xiao Hongxuan said at this moment and immediately understood the point of his defense. He believed that he was talking about how Zhang Gege fell down while walking on flat ground and almost bumped into the Fourth Master, but ended up falling face down and getting blood all over her face.
Moreover, he remembered his promise to himself this morning: if he didn't talk about his father, he would cook him something delicious.
Well, how should I put it? Literally, it does refer to the Zhang family, while the Fourth Master is only mentioned in passing.
However, the implication of these words is clearly that Zhang is throwing herself into the arms of the Fourth Master!
Oh, I forgot that Xuan'er is still a child who is not yet three years old. He probably can't understand such roundabout words yet.
Oh well, he's just an immature kid, I won't argue with him.
I should do more to please Fourth Master and hope that I won't have such a miserable night.
Based on past experience, every time Xuan'er tricked her father and he demanded that the mother pay for the debt, she always ended up in a tragic situation. She also knew that all the flattery she had done beforehand was useless. She still couldn't get up the next morning, and even if she did get up at noon, her body felt like it wasn't her own anymore.
But she still dared not give up on herself or make any preparations to please the Fourth Master, because she was really afraid that she would add fuel to the fire for him, causing her to be unable to get up all day the next day after he stayed at the Peach Blossom Courtyard.
Not only would she feel physically uncomfortable, but she would also feel embarrassed and ashamed. What's worse, all the women in the backyard would see it and target her even more fiercely.
Of course, when it comes to myself, I just find it troublesome to deal with these people.
Compared to herself, she was more worried that these people would turn their attention to Xuan'er and harbor even more ill intentions towards her.
Just after Jiaming finished preparing dinner (all of which were the Fourth Prince's favorite dishes), the Fourth Prince stepped into Peach Courtyard in the afterglow of the setting sun.
Unlike Jiaming, who doesn't hold grudges against children who aren't even three years old, Fourth Master is very particular about this.
Sure enough, after enjoying a delicious dinner at Peach Garden, Fourth Master picked up Xiao Hongxuan and gave the little guy a good talking-to as a post-dinner digestive exercise.
Originally, he had planned to give the little guy a good talking-to on his way back to the mansion from the palace at noon today.
But the little guy was asleep at the time, so Fourth Master had to postpone settling accounts.
After being scolded for half an hour, Xiao Hongxuan was already dejected. But unexpectedly, an even bigger blow came – his mother and father went on a southern tour together, but he wasn't included.
