The man's hair was long and messy, and it was clear that he hadn't taken care of it for a while.
Lin Xi opened her mouth, about to utter two words, but ultimately didn't say them.
Reason told her that she couldn't expose herself.
The person in front of her, that face, was someone she knew all too well, but there was a hint of confusion in his usually gentle yet resolute eyes.
So, her father had been living next door all along?
What about Mom?
"Are you alright?" The man looked Lin's father up and down. Although he spoke with concern, there was no trace of concern on his face. "Does your head still hurt?"
Lin's father shook his head, then raised a pair of confused eyes, "Who are you? Who are you people? And who am I?"
"How could you forget again? We are all superhumans serving Master Yu." The eldest brother said impatiently, pointing at Lin Xi, "This is the third one, she lives next door to you. This girl is a bit noisy. If you can beat her, just beat her up and shut her up. If you can't, just put up with it."
Lin Xi stared at the tips of her shoes, remaining silent for a long time.
Has Dad lost his memory?
how so?
"What's his name?" Lin Xi asked, looking at the man beside her.
"Him? Who knows? But the master always calls him Old Lin, so you can just call him that too."
Lin Xi looked at her father, feeling uneasy, and tentatively asked, "Uncle, what's your name?"
After waiting a moment, the light in Lin Xi's eyes gradually faded. "Can't you remember anything?"
Lin's father still looked bewildered.
Lin Xi felt utterly disheartened.
What exactly happened?
"Now that you're better, just do your job well for him and don't let all the effort he's put into you go to waste."
After saying that, he looked at Lin Xi and said, "And you, what are you doing running out in the middle of the night? Believe me or not, next time I'll just put a lock on your door?"
Lin Xi shook her head in refusal.
"Uncle Lin, you should go to sleep now. See you tomorrow."
She tried her best to hide her emotions and not give herself away, so she greeted him nonchalantly and then quickly retreated back to her room.
However, tonight is destined to be a sleepless night.
Lin Xi had many, many questions she wanted to ask her father, but in his current state, he certainly couldn't answer any of them.
The only thing we can do first is to find out why Dad lost his memory, then help him recover his memory before asking him anything else.
I tossed and turned all night, unable to sleep.
The next day, Lin Xi got up and first gathered around. Then she saw Yin sitting in the courtyard, supervising others as they taught Lin's father how to restore his superpowers.
Fortunately, it seems his superpowers are still intact, and his level hasn't dropped because of his amnesia.
However, I'm still not quite familiar with using it.
Yin was in a rare good mood and comforted him, "It's okay, you'll get used to it with more practice."
The sunlight gently shone on his exquisite suit jacket, and there were also specks of light on his eyelashes.
His demeanor perfectly embodies that of a gentle and polite leader, effortlessly winning people's hearts.
Lin Xi felt nauseous looking at his behavior.
This hypocrite, so sanctimonious, is really good at pretending.
Lin Xi moved a few steps to the side, then grabbed someone and asked, "How long does this kind of training last?"
The people around were watching intently. "It'll take at least half a month, right? But judging from this person's abilities, it feels like level seven, no... it should be close to level eight, right?"
Lin Xi smiled and said, "How would I know? Why don't you go up and ask?"
"Are you crazy?" The man looked at Lin Xi as if she were an idiot.
When he saw Lin Xi's face clearly, his body involuntarily trembled.
Holy crap, why is it this crazy woman?
He still remembers Yi Song's miserable state, as if a photograph is imprinted in his mind.
This is almost becoming a psychological trauma for him.
He snapped out of his daze, his expression softening, and said ingratiatingly, "Third Sister, you see, I won't disturb your enjoyment any longer."
After saying that, he dashed off a long way.
Lin Xi was speechless.
Why does he look like he's about to devour me alive?
What a strange person.
She looked back at the situation on Lin's father's side.
To train him, Yin somehow managed to get a high-level zombie today.
Judging from the zombie's appearance, it was very respectful to Yin, so it seems that this was also one of his subordinates.
Why have I never seen this before?
Could it be someone from the military region whom I haven't met before?
However, if it's someone from the military region, then it's not surprising.
After all, the entire military region works for them.
After the training, Yin immediately ordered someone to send Lin's father back.
Perhaps it was because of Lin's father's special circumstances, and in case something unexpected happened, such as suddenly remembering something, that he could still control the situation.
Lin Xi and Yin met eyes, and Lin Xi put on a bored look. "Forget it, let's go find Yi Song to play with instead."
"This girl probably waited so long because she saw that Old Lin's abilities were special."
Yin nodded. "Let's go. Old Lin isn't someone she can just hand over to her to fight just by calling out to him a couple of times."
"Should we say something to remind her?" the man next to Yin asked after hearing her say that.
After all, with the third brother's personality, if he isn't given a good talking-to, who knows what kind of earth-shattering things he might do.
Yin thought for a moment, then nodded. "Go and talk to them."
Subsequently, Lin Xi received a warning.
Lin Xi certainly wouldn't make a move.
Just kidding, this is her own father.
If someone were to fight like that, they'd probably get struck by lightning, right?
However, she still had to maintain appearances, so she pretended to be reluctant and said, "Alright..."
...
Inside the small villa, Yin didn't rush to send Old Lin back to his room. Instead, she strolled over to him, a gentle smile on her face. "Old Lin, have you remembered anything? Do you still remember me?"
Lin's father looked bewildered. "They said you are a gentleman."
Yin smiled and nodded. "Yes, I am Mr. But before that, we were colleagues. You are the most powerful superhuman I have ever met."
Yin sincerely praised, "I hope that in the days to come, you can put everything aside and let's just focus on doing what's in front of us well, okay?"
"Have I forgotten a lot of important things?" Lin's father wondered.
Yin shook his head. "Old Lin, the past is not important. The most important thing is to learn to look forward. Which is more important, the present or the future?"
Lin's father nodded, seemingly understanding but not quite.
"Alright, that concludes the morning training. How was it? You adapted fairly well?"
Lin's father wiped away the tears from the corners of his eyes. "The sun is so bright today. I feel like I haven't seen the light in a long time."
"Yeah, you've been so withdrawn this past year, locking yourself in your room and refusing to come out and see anyone."
Lin's father asked in confusion, "Why would I lock myself in the house?"
