Chapter 25 Reencounter with Lu Xingming

Li Yao, the car thief, led them to a shopping mall near a gas station.

This place looked much more presentable than the one they had seen in the town before. Apart from the dust flying everywhere, everything else was quite clean and tidy.

The door showed signs of being smashed, but it was clear that the attempt had failed.

Suddenly, a black SUV made a sharp turn and drove in.

The driver's side door opened, revealing a familiar baby face.

It was Tang He!

Could it be that the three of them came together again?

Just as Lin Xi was thinking this, the passenger window rolled down, revealing Lu Mingxing's devastatingly handsome profile.

He rested his arm on the car window and lit a cigarette with an extremely lazy posture.

She remembered that Uncle Jiang had mentioned this before, marveling at how the fat man was actually a college student, despite looking much older than his age.

Logically speaking, these three people should be classmates, right?

Are college students these days so mature? They even smoke.

Lin Xi instinctively hid behind Brother Long.

The two men had never experienced this before, so they were quite confused by her behavior.

"What's wrong?"

Lin Xi shook her head.

"Oh, what a coincidence!"

Tang He didn't make his entrance wielding his throwing knife; he really did look like the clean-cut, popular senior.

"You know him?" Brother Long asked.

It was Jiang Ling who spoke up, "They are the people who saved us in the mountains last time."

"Wait, something's not right." Another voice came from the back seat of the SUV.

Lu Mingxing tilted his head slightly. "What?"

Her voice is clear and pleasant to hear.

Da Gang stared intently at Lin Xi. "I remember her figure is just like that, thin and short. It should be her."

He vaguely remembered the little zombie that Da Gang had mentioned last time, carrying a large box of water and running away.

As he spoke, Lu Mingxing glanced slightly at Lin Xi, a look of inquiry and curiosity flashing in his eyes, but he looked away in less than a second.

The girl looked like a minor, with no signs of being zombie-like. She appeared very ordinary, no different from a normal person.

"Brother Ming, believe me, I'm not lying. Last time at the convenience store, her eyes were pure black. She's definitely a zombie!"

"Hmm." He said, taking another drag of his cigarette.

The big vat seemed confused, inexplicably scratching its head.

What does "Hmm" mean? Is Brother Ming still planning to get involved in this matter?

Didn't we agree that we should eliminate every zombie we saw?

"Brother Ming, just tell me straight, are we going to fight or not? It's just a matter of your word."

Upon hearing this, the four people outside tensed up, looking at the three who came later with wary expressions, and immediately assumed an attack stance.

This is a conditioned reflex I've developed from fighting zombies these past few days.

Lu Mingxing exhaled a puff of smoke and said calmly amidst the anxious gazes of the crowd, "There's no need."

The large vat immediately shut up.

It seems Brother Ming isn't planning on killing that little zombie.

Lin Xi felt the hand that was holding her heart loosen its grip, and she finally felt relieved.

This person was clearly the one with the most power among the three. Since he said he wouldn't kill them, I was safe for the time being.

Tang He was looking intently at Lin Xi, his two dimples making him seem exceptionally approachable.

"Little sister, how old are you?"

He Chao immediately blocked his view, "What are you doing? You look so respectable, have you no shame? You're flirting with young girls."

"Is she a little girl or a little zombie?" Tang He smirked, a playful smile on his lips. "Hey, how did your eyes go from pure black to clear black and white? Teach your big brother."

Besides, he had no interest in zombies; such things could no longer be considered his kind.

The air seemed to freeze for a moment.

Upon hearing that there were zombies among the group, Li Yao turned around in panic, staggered back, and disappeared in no time.

The homeowners' group didn't pay much attention to Li Yao, but they were still taken aback by Tang He's words.

Lin Xi looks exactly the same as a normal person, so how did this person know this secret?

The two men, Brother Long and He Chao, took a step forward and shielded Lin Xi and Jiang Ling behind them.

"Stay away from us, or don't blame us for being impolite!"

Lin Xi tugged at He Chao's sleeve and gently shook her head.

Their abilities are clearly stronger, so it's best not to fight them. Even if they have a numerical advantage, they definitely won't gain any advantage.

But neither of them backed down an inch.

Tang He opened the fuel tank, ignoring the other three people as if they were invisible, and went around to the front of the fuel pump.

He pulled out the fuel nozzle, added fuel, and put it back—a series of actions he performed with practiced ease.

Finally, he suddenly turned around, looked at Lin Xi, and smiled, his two dimples particularly eye-catching. "Next time we meet, don't be alone!"

Lu Mingxing finished his cigarette and the car window slowly rolled up.

Then she watched as the passenger-side window slowly rolled up, the SUV sped away, leaving only a roar in the air.

Anyone could tell that Tang He's words were a blatant threat.

He'll make his move if someone is alone.

Lu Mingxing remained indifferent throughout, neither attacking them nor stopping Tang He's provocative behavior.

He simply said "no need"? Did he think they were nothing to fear? That's far too arrogant.

"How did that guy know Lin Xi...?"

"Last time in that small town, I went to a convenience store to get water, and my sunglasses fell off, and the fat guy among them saw my eyes."

"They have no good intentions towards you at all," Brother Long said indignantly.

Jiang Ling looked puzzled. "How could it be such a coincidence? Are they also heading to the safe zone in D City? Wouldn't we run into each other along the way?"

As she spoke, Jiang Ling looked at Lin Xi with some concern. Wasn't Lin Xi in great danger?

Lin Xi felt that the word "malicious" was not appropriate in this context; their thoughts were far more sinister than that. They wanted to kill her, and might even be planning to split open her brain and extract the crystal core.

Thinking of this scene, she couldn't help but cover her head.

Thankfully, it's still there.

Judging from the great interest the knife-wielding boy showed her, he probably thought she was special compared to the other zombies and assumed that the crystal core in her brain was of a higher level.

Unfortunately, she didn't have it at all.

Because of the system's sudden intervention, her brain is still intact and has the same structure as the human brain, so there is no chance for a crystal nucleus to grow.

That's why she's still so conscious.

If you split the head open, the brains would probably spill all over the floor.

The imagery was so vivid that she couldn't help but shudder and dared not think any further.

As expected, the unfamiliar superhuman had almost zero tolerance for all zombies.
