Despite hearing Lu Nan's sarcastic remarks from behind, the person leading the way remained unfazed.
It's not anything else, it's just that he's heard this nonsense from him so many times that he's gotten used to it, and apart from rolling his eyes, he really can't do anything about it.
On the sixth floor, each door required a fingerprint to unlock. When he reached the last door, he slightly stepped aside. "I don't have permission for this one, but your fingerprints have already been registered. Who will go?"
Everyone looked at each other with curiosity, except for Lu Nan, who stood far behind with his arms crossed. No one stepped forward.
Jiang Chuan stepped forward and opened the door.
"There's no one inside." Chen Jin poked his head in and peeked inside.
"Please go inside first, your instructors will be here shortly. Please be patient."
Lu Nan leaned against the door frame, completely unconcerned about what they were saying.
After the person who led the way left, Jiang Chuan, Chen Jin, and Lin Xi stood to one side. The small space seemed to be divided into three parts, each in its own territory, and no one spoke first to break the silence.
Suddenly, steady, rhythmic footsteps broke the silence. Everyone turned to look at the door. Lu Nan stepped aside slightly and looked outside as well.
The first thing everyone noticed was the shiny gold badge pinned to the man's chest.
Jiang Chuan slightly curled the corners of his mouth.
Lin Xi's gaze moved upwards to a man who looked to be around twenty-seven or twenty-eight years old. He had sharp facial features, a resolute gaze, and a faint smile on his lips.
Lin Xi's pupils contracted.
"It's you again?"
Yun smiled. "What a coincidence! I remember, your name is Celine, right?"
Lin Xi did not speak.
Yun glanced at the five people in front of him, and when his gaze fell on Lu Nan, he paused, "I know you."
Lu Nan looked up at Yun and said nonchalantly, "Oh."
Aren't you curious how I know you?
Lu Nan didn't answer, seemingly ignoring his words completely.
"Your previous master was also my disciple."
"So what? You're still just a Gold Badge level member, aren't you?"
Yun's expression froze, as if a sore spot had been touched.
He turned to the others and said, "From now on, your training ground will be here! You don't need to go to the fifth floor anymore; I'll personally guide you."
"Huh?" Chen Jin was taken aback.
Yun raised an eyebrow at him, "What's wrong?"
Chen Jin then belatedly realized that his tone just now sounded like that of someone trying to cause trouble. He glanced at Lu Nan, knowing he could never imitate that.
So he quickly explained, "I didn't mean anything by it, I just don't know you very well."
Yun slapped his forehead. "Oh dear, I'm sorry, I've been a bit busy and talked a lot. I forgot to introduce myself."
As he spoke, he straightened his expression and said, "My name is Yun. You can call me Brother Yun like they do. I have ice-type abilities, level five. I was also one of the first members of the Wind Eagle Gang to get a gold badge, so I can be considered a veteran. Many of the current gold badge members were trained by me."
Upon hearing this, Lin Xi couldn't help but ask, "Is the gem badge above the gold badge?"
Yun smiled and said, "You sound very interested."
Lin Xi nodded honestly, "I really want to meet the owner of those four gem badges."
"Quite ambitious," Yun said, but his eyes were full of admiration for her. "I wonder if there are any other people here who want the gem badge?"
Chen Jin remained silent. He had no interest in any of these gold or gem badges; he joined the Wind Eagle Clan simply to gain access to more resources.
He had only one other goal—to survive.
"Me," Jiang Chuan said calmly.
Lin Xi and Chen Jin were not surprised at all; Jiang Chuan's ambition was always written all over his face.
Yun walked over to him, put her hand on his shoulder, and said, "You're great. I like ambitious people like you."
"Alright, the four of you can practice first."
Lin Xi found it strange; weren't there five of them?
Unexpectedly, Yun changed the subject, saying, "As for Lu Nan, you are too weak and not qualified to go to the battlefield."
Lu Nan ignored him completely, letting the words go in one ear and out the other.
Yun continued, "Starting today, I will personally accompany you to do the most basic physical training."
Lu Nan, unconcerned, shrugged and said, "Whatever."
His tone made the others present feel somewhat uncomfortable, but Yun remained calm and nonchalant, smiling as if nothing had happened.
He said, word by word, "You're under my jurisdiction now, so of course you'll listen to whatever I say."
Cheng Sheng shook his head. What a waste of effort!
Previously, the same process was followed for the members who wore the golden badge from Lunan; in less than a week, they simply resigned from their positions.
What can we do? People like Lu Nan are completely impervious to reason and won't listen to anything!
Investing your emotions in him is a waste of time.
However, Cheng Sheng didn't pay much attention to him and turned to enter the virtual simulation battlefield.
Lin Xi had already put on her glasses, and when the scene loaded, everyone was shocked.
What's going on? Why are all the opponents level 5 ability users?
And so, the four members of the elite squad were utterly crushed in the simulated battle for an entire day.
When Chen Jin came out, he looked like he had lost his soul.
Lin Xi called him several times, but he seemed to be in a daze.
