Chapter 9: Kidnapped

Chapter 9: Kidnapped

The man cursed and tugged at Yun Ruchen's arm as they headed towards the mountain den. The area was thick with fog, the faint glow of a red lantern flickering through it. "So what if your wife is powerful?" the man scoffed. He had never met anyone so boastful. "Even if she could find the formation, she wouldn't be able to get through the damaged base. By the time she slowly flew over, you'd have that guy take care of her!" Amidst the man's arrogant laughter, a flicker of disgust crossed Yun Ruchen's face. This foolish fellow had exploited countless people with such despicable tactics. "Boy, don't you understand that you have to bow your head when you're under someone else's roof?" The man, sensing the disdain in Yun Ruchen's eyes, raged. What he hated most was the way these people treated him like dirt. Being forced along, his clothes were a bit disheveled, but his eyes remained bright and his lips curled slightly upward. If one ignored his current situation, it would have looked more like he was just wandering through the mountains. However, this calm and relaxed demeanor only made the man feel more like she was mocking him. Yun Ruchen simply didn't want to pay attention; it was a waste of words. There was no point in communicating with a foolish person. The man grabbed him by the collar and slammed him to the ground. Seeing Yun Ruchen show no fear or fear, his hatred quickly grew. "It seems I should give you a good lesson before sending you over, so you'll learn what it means to be humble!" A whip materialized in the man's hand. He swung it several times, stirring up dirt. As he spoke, he aimed the whip at Yun Ruchen's chest. Just as it was about to strike him, a white light emanated from his chest handkerchief, deflecting the whip. The white light then expanded, enveloping Yun Ruchen's body. From this light emerged a sword, growing in the wind, piercing the dense forest, its hilt piercing the clouds. A dark, sky-high sword appeared in the azure sky. The tip of the sword now pointed at the man, causing his legs to tremble. The overwhelming murderous aura weighed on him, making him unable to move, unable even to kneel and beg for mercy. His eyes widened, bloodshot and reddening beneath them, and beads of sweat fell from his forehead like fine raindrops. Tanzhou City was a place where the children of wealthy families and cultivators lived. In the Dengtian Pavilion, several people looked up at the horizon. "Such a strong aura," the man stood up. "...sounds familiar," a woman rubbed her brow, trying to recall. "Let's go check." Bai Yuge had intended to look for Feng Jingluo earlier that morning, but learned that she and Yun Ruchen had already left the sect. Unwilling to give up, he also took his flying boat out of the Wentian Sect to search for them, but the world was so vast that it was difficult to determine their whereabouts in such a short time...

The man cursed all the way and dragged Yun Ruchen's arm towards the mountain cave. The place was filled with fog, and the light of red lanterns flickered faintly in the mist.

"So what if your wife is powerful?" the man scoffed. He had never seen anyone so boastful. "Even if she could find the formation, she wouldn't be able to get through the damaged base. By the time she slowly flew over, you'd have that guy take care of her!"

Amid the man's arrogant laughter, a trace of disgust flashed across Yun Ruchen's face.

This stupid guy, I don't know how many people he has harmed with such despicable means.

"Kid, don't you understand that you have to bow your head when you're under someone else's roof?" The man felt irritated when he saw the contempt in Yun Ruchen's eyes. What he hated most was the way these people looked at him as if he were a piece of dirt.

Being forced to travel quickly made his clothes look a little disheveled, but his eyes were still bright and his mouth corners were slightly raised.

If you ignore his current situation, it would be more like wandering in the mountains.

However, this quiet and comfortable temperament makes men feel that the other party is mocking them.

But Yun Ruchen didn't want to pay attention to the other party and waste his breath.

Stupid people have no need to communicate.

The man grabbed his collar and threw him to the ground. Seeing that Yun Ruchen showed no fear or cowardice, the malice in his heart quickly rose.

"It seems that before sending you over, I should first give you a good training, so that you know what it means to be humble and submissive!"

A whip appeared in the man's hand and he swung it several times, kicking up dirt on the ground.

As he spoke, the whip lashed towards Yun Ruchen's chest. Just as it was about to strike him, a flash of white light emanated from the handkerchief on his chest, deflecting the whip. The light then expanded, enveloping Yun Ruchen's body. From within it emerged a sword, growing taller against the wind, piercing the dense forest, its hilt piercing the clouds. A dark, heaven-shaking sword appeared in the azure sky.

The tip of the sword now pointed at the man, causing his legs to tremble. The overwhelming murderous aura weighed on him, making him unable to move, unable even to kneel and beg for mercy.

His eyes were wide open, bloodshot from the whites of his eyes making them red, and beads of sweat rolled down his forehead like fine raindrops.

Qinzhou City

In the Dengtian Pavilion, a place for children from wealthy families or wealthy cultivators to live, several people raised their heads and looked into the distance at the horizon.

"What a strong aura." The man stood up.

"...It seems familiar." A woman rubbed her eyebrows and recalled carefully.

"Go and have a look."

Early in the morning, Bai Yuge wanted to look for Feng Jingluo again, but learned that she and Yun Ruchen had already left the sect.

Unwilling to give up, he also drove his flying boat to leave Wentian Sect to search for them, but the world was so big that it was difficult to determine their destination in a short time.

He searched until noon, when he was drawn to a burst of sword energy rising into the sky. Such a powerful aura could only be found in Feng Jingluo, so Bai Yuge rushed towards the source of the sword energy.

The pressure of the sword energy did not make Yun Ruchen feel uncomfortable. He was about to stand up with his hands supporting the ground, but he caught a glimpse of the sword light rushing towards him. He loosened his grip and sat back down.

Feng Jingluo jumped off the sword, the black bird floated behind her, walked to Yun Ruchen and squatted down. There were no visible scars on her face, but her clothes were torn and she looked a little embarrassed.

The pupils in her eyes moved left and right, and her eyes slowly narrowed. Her face was not aggressive, but when she was angry, her eyebrows lowered, her eyes squeezed into a narrow arc, and the light that burst out was as sharp as a sword.

Even though Yun Ruchen was sure that she would not hurt him, he lowered his eyelids because of the stern gaze.

She raised her hand. Years of sword training had given her a strong edge. When her fingertips pressed against Yun Ruchen's chest, she felt a sharp pain.

He raised his head and could only see his distinct eyelashes close to him. She checked him worriedly to see if he was hurt.

The palms were pressed into the soil, the fingers were bent and retracted, and blue blood vessels emerged at the joints.

She leaned back unconsciously, her gaze darting over her head, gazing at the sliver of blue sky peeking through the trees. Having been kidnapped all the way here, without a drop of water, her throat felt dry and itchy.

"Sorry for the offense." He pressed his palm on Yun Ruchen's chest, and a stream of spiritual power gently spread along his meridians, checking whether his body was damaged.

In the spiritual world, unless the relationship is extremely close, one will never allow their body to be invaded unscrupulously.

But he didn't bother to feel the spiritual energy. Most of her hand was blocked by the cloth, with only half of her index finger pressing on her exposed chest.

The body temperature is not very high, but the touch sensation cannot be ignored, and the skin that is touched gradually warms up over time.

He suddenly reached out and grabbed Feng Jingluo's wrist, and it seemed that he had not expected his action, and his fingers loosened and then clenched again.

His head was tilted so much that it was about to turn to the back of his head, and Feng Jingluo could only see his red earlobes and clear jawline.

"...I'm not hurt." He let go of his hand, turned his body around, and stood up awkwardly, not wanting to look at Feng Jingluo.

She withdrew her hand, and she felt relieved that everything was normal in Shaozong's body and there was no secret door left.

He stood up and looked at the sweaty man.

"Why did he kidnap you?"

Yun Ruchen pursed his lips. This really sounded like he was complaining to someone close to him. "He wants to sell me to a disciple of the Hehuan Sect... to be used as a furnace."

He didn't hear Feng Jingluo's response, but he felt the murderous intent behind him was stronger, which made his spine numb even though it was not directed at him.

"Do you want the young master to become a plaything of lowly people?" Yun Ruchen, who did not turn around, missed Feng Jingluo's expression at the moment.

It was a kind of liveliness that could not be seen in the sect. The corners of his mouth slowly rose, and his eyebrows were raised even wantonly.

The man wanted to beg for mercy, but the oppressive feeling from the black bird shadow prevented him from even opening his mouth.

"Don't look back." Feng Jingluo instructed, then raised his palm and put his five fingers together.

The shadow of the black bird flickered, and an even stronger pressure surged forth, causing the man to twist his body instantly, as if being gripped by a real hand. Then, the tip of a sword pressed down from above, piercing him into the ground. When the shadow vanished, only a bottomless vertical black hole remained in its place.

Feng Jingluo waved his sleeves, and the soil around him automatically filled up, restoring everything to its original state.

When Yun Ruchen turned around, the man seemed to have never appeared in front of him.

"Are you scared?"

Yun Ruchen shook his head, "You arrived just in time."

He shook off the dirt from his palms and straightened his clothes. He looked very busy, his eyes fixed on his toes.

Feng Jingluo walked over, gathered moisture on his fingers, and washed his palms.

"Young Master, please stay with me."

She left a trace of sword energy on the handkerchief again and returned it to Yun Ruchen.

"Aren't you going back to Tanzhou City?"

Feng Jingluo glanced at the red light flickering in the distant mist and said casually, "They have offended the Young Master, and they will pay the price for it."

The shadow of the black bird alarmed the people in the house in the fog, and they fled in panic the moment the shadow appeared.

After breaking through the formation and entering the house, Feng Jingluo could know their location based on the residual breath.

Before the two of them could pass by, several people from the horizon came over here stepping on magic weapons.

A loud male voice said, "I am Xu Mobai, a disciple of Shangxuan Sect. May I ask fellow Taoist..."

Xu Mobai, dressed in luxurious brocade, with a kind smile and a reserved look that suppressed his nobility, landed on the ground. He was about to say hello, but when he saw the person in front of him, he choked in the middle of his words.

"Feng...Feng Jingluo!" He took a few steps back and hid behind the woman who had just landed.

"Why are you here?" Jiang Chen was surprised. His eyes moved between Yun Ruchen and Feng Jingluo, and then he smiled knowingly.

"I heard that you unexpectedly married the young master of the sect. I didn't believe it at first, but after seeing you today, I realized that you really did marry."

She smiled ambiguously, "Could it be that the young master's mother and father disagreed, so you snatched him away?"

Xu Mobai grabbed her sleeve and was hit on the back of his hand by Jiang Chen.

He whispered, "Don't mess with her..."

Yun Ruchen blinked as he listened, somewhat confused. Judging from their reactions, they seemed very familiar with Feng Jingluo, but why would they say such words?

Feng Jingluo is obviously a quiet person. When he returned to the sect, he spent most of his time in the sword tomb. He is also indifferent and taciturn. How could he do what the woman said?

Feng Jingluo did not refute Jiang Chen's words, but simply said calmly: "Your mouth is still as annoying as ever."

"The elder asked me to take the young master down the mountain for training. The prosperous Tanzhou is a good place for training."

"Then what's going on with this sword energy?" Jiang Chen pointed at the chaotic traces on the ground.

"Someone kidnapped the Young Sect Master while I was away." Feng Jingluo asked, "Didn't you take on the task of clearing out the evil cultivators after you went down the mountain?"

Xu Mobai looked up at the sky. He had finally come out to relax, but he had to take it easy for a while before going back to work. Who could stand practicing every day?

Jiang Chen glared, "Don't look at me, I'm an alchemist, you can't expect me to arrest people."

Feng Jingluo tilted her head, and Yun Ruchen, caught off guard, met her gaze. "Did Ruchen hear anything about the evil cultivators from the thieves?"

Yun Ruchen froze, "He called it Lan Yu Palace."

"Hey, Ruchen. You're calling me so intimately." Jiang Chen covered his mouth and smiled like a cat stealing some fish.

The black bird flew from behind to in front of him, and Jiang Chen's smile froze. He restrained his expression and looked at his clothes, as if he wanted to see something.

"I've heard of the Lanyu Palace," Xu Mobai said. "It's just a bandit den set up by a Hehuan Sect disciple to recruit some independent cultivators. I heard they kidnapped many beautiful cultivators and played with them."

Xu Mobai explained himself: "It's not that we don't care, things are urgent and slow. There are many urgent tasks, and the reward for destroying Lanyu Palace is not much. Besides, I'm a man too, I don't want to be seen by such a disgusting guy."

Xu Mobai shook his head in disgust and looked like he was about to vomit.

"How many evil cultivators are hiding in the Qinzhou Mountains?" Feng Jingluo asked.

Jiang Chen spread his hands, "Too many to count."

"The more prosperous a place is, the more filth and corruption it harbors." She said, "How many of us disciples who have come down the mountain to train can we eliminate?"

She looked at Yun Ruchen and said with a smile, "Your husband is lucky. He was only sold to the Lanyu Palace by kidnappers. If he had met a fallen demon cultivator, I'm afraid his blood would have been sucked dry."

Feng Jingluo raised his eyes, "Do you think I'm dead?"

Jiang Chen muttered and turned his head. Isn't it just a means for him to save his life? What's the big deal?

Damn it, she would be willing to buy Feng Jingluo’s sword no matter how many spirit stones were offered.

Such a lucky man with weak constitution!
