Chapter 60 Rescue Princess Mingman

There was no post station nearby, only a dilapidated temple. There was no choice but for the group to make do in the temple.

The rain started in the morning and showed no sign of stopping in the afternoon, and it even got heavier.

It looks like it will take a whole day and night to rain.

Jiang Li and Jiang An took out bedding from the box and found a relatively clean space in the temple to lay out two thick layers.

The Zhou family was also laying out bedding, and there was no shelter from the wind in the temple, so it was already very cold before it got completely dark.

After laying out the bedding, they started to cook, but there was no wood. There was a small door in the temple connecting to the yard at the back, so Rouer and Jiangli volunteered to go to the backyard to look for wood.

Mr. Zhou was extremely worried, but Rou'er had already run away.

The backyard was deserted and the railings under the corridor were very dilapidated. When they walked into a room, it was full of dust, which made the two of them cough.

Jiang Li covered his nose and said, "Rou'er, wait at the door. It's a little dark inside. Don't come in, or you might fall."

Rouer nodded obediently.

Jiang Li walked in cautiously and screamed, "Ah!"

Rou'er suddenly became nervous and hurried into the house, "What's wrong with you?"

"I'm fine, I just hit my leg on the stool. Don't come in, I'll be out soon."

Jiang Li came out leaning on two benches. Seeing that he was fine, Rou'er felt relieved.

After returning to the temple, he split the bench and started to make a fire and cook.

It’s so cold, drinking a bowl of hot porridge is such a blessing!

A hundred meters outside the temple, a young girl on horseback, followed by two maids, was galloping in the rain.

It had rained all day and the ground was very muddy and slippery everywhere. The horse under him lost its footing and fell to the ground.

The maids Pearl and Jade quickly ran forward, "Princess, how are you?"

Pearl cried out, "The princess's leg is injured and bleeding."

Yu Shi's heart skipped a beat. I hope nothing happens to the princess, otherwise it will be all over. It was already dark. Yu Shi looked into the distance and saw a faint light ahead. He knew there must be someone's house there.

"Pearl, help the princess up quickly. I'll carry her on my back. There's a house ahead, let's go there quickly."

Pearl also calmed down and walked towards the temple little by little with the help of Jade.

When they arrived at the temple gate, they saw many carriages and trucks outside. Yu Shi knew that they might have encountered traveling merchants.

Pearl ran into the temple first.

Everyone saw a man covered in dirt and wet running in, "Please, everyone, save my young lady."

Jiang Tuantuan handed Yubao to Feng Xiaoli, stood up and asked, "Where's your young lady? What's wrong with her?"

Yu Shi finally walked in after great effort. "My lady accidentally fell off the horse, injured her leg, and bled a lot."

Jiang Tuantuan cleared a blanket and placed it on the open space, and Mingman lay down on it. Due to excessive bleeding, she had been in a coma, her lips were pale, and her body was very cold.

Jiang Li and Jiang An lit a fire next to Ming Man and finally felt a little warmer.

Jiang Tuantuan was about to lift up Mingman's pants to check the injuries, but the men turned their heads away consciously.

When I fell to the ground, the branches accidentally scratched my calf and thigh, leaving a long cut, but fortunately it was not deep, just a little large in area.

"Rou'er, can you help boil some water?"

Rou'er nodded and went quickly.

Jiang Tuantuan took out the cranesbill collected yesterday and a new set of clothes from the box, and sighed, "It's a good thing I picked a little more of this grass yesterday."

Jiang Tuan Tuan said to Zhenzhu, "First, take off your young lady's wet clothes, wipe her body clean with cotton cloth, and change into dry clothes, otherwise she will easily catch a cold."

Then he said to Yu Shi, "Go and crush these herbs and apply them on the wound."

Pearls and jades worked swiftly.

The water on Rouer's side was also boiled. Jiang Tuantuan used cotton cloth dipped in hot water to clean the dirt around the wound bit by bit. Unfortunately, there was no alcohol. What should he do?

Jiang Tuantuan suddenly came up with a good idea and said loudly, "Master Zhou, do you have any white wine? Can you lend me some?"

When Mr. Zhou heard someone calling him, he hurriedly asked Erjin to take out a bottle of white wine from the box.

Although Mingman was unconscious, Jiang Tuantuan said softly, "I'm going to disinfect you. It's going to hurt, so you have to bear it."

Jiang Tuantuan poured white wine on the cotton cloth and wiped the wound gently. Mingman was awakened by the pain. He opened his eyes a little bit and vaguely saw a gentle and beautiful girl cleaning his wound.

He then fainted again. After the wound was cleaned, herbal medicine was applied and the bleeding finally stopped.

Pearl and Jade excitedly thanked Jiang Tuantuan. Without them, the princess might really have died.

In the palace, the emperor looked up and saw that it was already completely dark outside, but his precious princess had not returned yet. He anxiously asked the palace maid, "Is there still no sign of the princess?"

The maid trembled and said, "I haven't seen it."

The emperor was panicked. Two days ago, Mingman insisted on going to the farm outside the city to play for two days. The emperor couldn't persuade her and agreed. She agreed to come back today. The emperor knew that Mingman would not be so ignorant. If she didn't come back when she should, it must be that something happened on the way.

At this time, a servant came to report that it was raining heavily outside the city. The emperor immediately realized that he was doomed and quickly sent a team of imperial guards out to search for him.

The imperial guards rode out of the city at full speed.

Mingman's bleeding stopped. Jiang Tuantuan brought another bowl of porridge and asked Zhenzhu to help her sit up.

The wound would not heal well if she didn't eat. Jiang Tuantuan tried to feed her porridge little by little. After half an hour, she finally finished feeding her.

Jiang Tuantuan was afraid that she would be cold, so she took a thick quilt and covered her with it, tucking the four corners tightly.

Mingman's expression finally relaxed.

More than an hour later, Jiang Tuantuan and his group were just about to lie down to sleep when they heard the sound of horse hooves outside the door. Then a burly man walked in, followed by two people.

Everyone immediately showed a wary look, they looked like bandits but they were dressed like soldiers.

Pearl and Jade immediately recognized them as the imperial guards and burst into tears of joy. "The young lady is here. She was injured and they healed her."

The leader of the imperial guards nodded at Jiang Tuantuan, then picked up Mingman and left.

Pearls and jade followed suit.

Everything happened so fast, but judging from the situation, that girl is no ordinary person.

Jiang Tuantuan asked, "Master Zhou, do you know where those people came from?"

Mr. Zhou thought for a moment and said, "She looks like a palace guard. Judging from her age and appearance, she must be a young lady from a wealthy family who has connections with the nobles in the palace."
