Chapter 7

Chapter 7

Yun Piancheng hasn't had a lazy sleep in a long time.

In the past, she was either training on the training ground or in the army, ready to attack or defend at any time.

Even after the starship accident, she continued to walk eastward with Ji Huai in the forest.

She slept exceptionally well last night, perhaps because Ji Huai ate on his own in his sleep. When she opened her eyes, it was already ten o'clock in the morning.

The ceiling was black, and the sunlight had already flown in through the window with no curtains drawn, falling on Ji Huai.

Yun Piancheng faced Ji Huai, looking at the little white ball glowing in the sun, feeling a rare sense of relaxation and joy. He chuckled, tiptoed quietly, lifted the quilt and got up.

Ji Huai felt uncomfortable in the sun, and he turned over while humming, but still did not wake up.

Yun Piancheng came to the study, sat upright at the desk, and pulled out a stack of papers from the right side of the desk. His fair hands, with calluses from frequently holding guns, hovered over the pen holder, picked one at random, took out a pen, and wrote and drew on the paper.

On the soft bed in the bedroom, Ji Huai chewed the air with his eyes closed. After smacking his lips twice, he felt that it was tasteless. Then he woke up slowly, shook his half-conscious head, jumped to the head of the bed, and looked around with his round eyes.

Yunyun is not here.

Where did you go?

Ji Huai concentrated his attention, sniffed twice carefully, and savored the faint emotions in the air.

Calm and peaceful.

Ji Huai smiled. It seemed that Yunyun was in a good mood, so he could go find her.

It was not difficult to locate the room based on the breath. Ji Huai quickly found the study. He exerted force on the bottom of his round spherical body and jumped up with a burst of energy. He came to the front of the access control sensor, but because he was too small, he could not be recognized.

"Yunyun!" A clear little voice came from Ji Huai's body.

He tried to speak as loudly as possible, but the doors here were too soundproof, and by the time his voice reached the inside of the house, it was almost completely reduced.

Fortunately, Yun Piancheng had undergone special training and was relatively talented. He caught the subtle movement, immediately put down the pen in his hand, and strode towards the door.

She didn't lock the door. The access sensor immediately turned on the green light when it sensed someone coming. The study door slowly moved open, and Ji Huai rushed over, using Yun Piancheng's body as a speed bump.

Unfortunately, he was too light.

No big movement, small rebound.

But there are always unexpected things. Ji Huai can undergo elastic deformation, but what occurred was inelastic deformation. He just squeezed himself flat and fell into Yun Piancheng's panicked outstretched hands, and then slowly bounced back.

Since you are here.

Yun Piancheng squeezed Ji Huai's hand again. Ji Huai subconsciously opened his mouth, showing his fangs, and bit Yun Piancheng's hand again.

After biting it, Ji Huai remembered to sense Yun Piancheng's emotions.

Okay, not angry!

Ji Huai was happy, his body was shining white, and his pink little tongue licked the teeth marks he had just made.

Yun Piancheng curled his fingers inward slightly, resisting the urge to throw Ji Huai out.

itch.

"Yunyun, what are you doing?" Ji Huai asked, rubbing Yun Piancheng furiously.

Yun Piancheng did not hesitate. He turned around holding Ji Huai and walked to the desk.

The paper was evenly torn into small squares half the size of a palm, with interstellar universal language written on it and simple drawings attached. It was obviously a literacy card specially designed for children.

"I'm preparing to teach you how to read. Look at this..." Yun Piancheng picked up one of the pieces of paper with his slender fingers. There was a word on it, and a circle was drawn next to the word, with radiating lines around the circle.

Ji Huai leaned over to take a look: "What is it?"

"This is '日', the sun," Yun Piancheng said. Suddenly, something clicked in her mind, and she paused, pointing out the window with her other hand. "It's that bright thing that makes your eyes uncomfortable."

Ji Huai looked in the direction of Yun Piancheng's finger and thought for a moment: "Ah?"

He considered it, searched his meager vocabulary, and gave an evaluation.

"Not really," he said.

Yun Piancheng was puzzled, and even considered that the deviation might be caused by the direction of her finger and Ji Huai's perspective.

So she leaned over and looked at it from Ji Huai's height and angle.

Yun Piancheng:.

She knew why.

A drone was hovering outside the window with a small package hanging from it. There was also a small card hanging on the package, which just blocked the sun that Ji Huai should have seen.

Yun Piancheng has good eyesight and accurately captured the signature on the small card - Kofi.

The small drone seemed to have authority as well. As soon as it approached, the window opened automatically.

It flew in, landed steadily on the desk, unloaded the package, took off slowly again, and then rushed out of the window.

Yun Piancheng did not ask Kefei why the drone could enter and exit the room freely. He just quietly turned on the computer, found the window option in the corner, and turned off the drone's permissions.

Then, he began to check the paper.

"Hi~ girl! I guess you don't know where to buy food, and you probably didn't prepare any food, so I sent you a batch of mint-flavored nutrient solution. Oh, and on the back of the card is the name of the internal online shopping platform of Belu City. If you need it, you can search and place an order yourself~ You're welcome! - Kofi."

Yun Piancheng opened the package and found ten green tubes of reagents inside, which really looked like the nutrient solution on the market.

"What is it?" Ji Huai asked.

Yun Piancheng: "The nutrient solution Kofi sent is edible."

Ji Huai didn’t know what nutrient solution was, but he knew what it meant to be edible.

He slipped out of Yun Piancheng's hand, measured the size of the reagent with his mouth, and was caught by Yun Piancheng again.

Yun Piancheng opened one of the tubes of nutrient solution, fanned it gently and smelled it, analyzing the ingredients inside.

No problem, it's normal nutrient solution.

"Is it delicious?" Ji Huai asked again.

"It's not delicious," Yun Piancheng said concisely, "but it's quick."

Ji Huai didn't know what fast food meant, so he just said "Oh" and said, "Then Xiao Huai won't eat it."

Then he twisted his body and returned to Yun Piancheng.

Yun Piancheng poked him, stopped caring about the nutrient solution, and turned his attention back to the literacy cards.

*

Since they got up very late in the morning, Yun Piancheng and Ji Huai had no intention of taking a nap.

At 2:48, Yun Piancheng's computer vibrated and a prompt popped up.

[A visitor has applied to enter. Should he be allowed in?]

Above this prompt was a photo taken by surveillance camera. The person in the photo was familiar to Yun Piancheng. It was Douge, who had made an appointment with her for psychological counseling last night.

Ji Huai was almost sleepy from learning to read, but now he became alert and slipped away from the table and returned to Yun Piancheng's shoulder.

Yun Piancheng clicked [Yes], then got up and went downstairs.

The treatment hall on the first floor has been cleaned up by Yun Piancheng, and some fruits that were delivered via expedited online shopping are placed on the cloud-shaped coffee table.

"Good afternoon," Yun Piancheng greeted the reserved Doge, "Do you need hot milk?"

Doug quickly waved his hands and shook his head, then sighed again: "No need, Miss Cheng, I am already very grateful that you are willing to help me with the treatment."

"Please sit down first." Yun Piancheng said.

She lit the incense, walked into the tea room, filled a disposable cup with hot water, and returned to place it in front of Doge.

Doge's gaze subconsciously followed Yun Piancheng, engraving this familiar house in his memory again.

Hot mist rose from the water, blurring Doge's tired and listless face.

"Have you finished the scale I sent you last night?" Yun Piancheng's voice pierced through the mist, calm and reassuring.

"I've done it too many times," Dog's voice was hoarse. He wasn't emotional, but there was a lot of helplessness and disgust in his tone. "I know I have PTSD after the war. Many of us here have the same condition."

"You know, the psychologist who helped me before wasn't incompetent, it was just..."

Doug's words paused, and he suddenly covered his mouth, and a suppressed retching sound came from his hands.

He picked up the hot water on the table and shook off the mist.

He drank the hot water in one gulp, and then fell silent again.

The feeling of nausea and disgust emanating from Doug was too strong, and Ji Huai began to feel agitated.

Yun Piancheng took Ji Huai off, squeezed it in his hand, and finished what Duoge hadn't finished saying: "It's just that some of them died on the front line."

As soon as he finished speaking, Doge began to tremble, and with force in his hands, the disposable cup began to deform.

Ji Huai, who had already received Yun Piancheng's signal, took a deep breath and started eating.

The removal of negative emotions gradually weakened Doug's trembling, until finally, he was able to control his slightly out-of-control body and took a deep breath.

"You've had psychological counseling here," Yun Piancheng said confidently, "and you know Miss Hessel."

"Yes...she treated me."

"She has a personality very similar to yours, but seems to be more lively than you." Doug's attention was diverted, but when he thought of Hessel's ending, the look in his eyes dimmed again, "But she also... never came back."

"I hate Bellew," said Dog.

Doc said, "I don't like you either."

Yun Piancheng didn't respond, but just poked Ji Huai again, asking him to eat harder so that Douge could continue talking.

"Perhaps you went to the front and can come back, which is something to be happy about. But you have a very disgusting...shadow of war."

The last five words were almost squeezed out from between Doug's teeth.

But after saying this, Doug was suddenly stunned and his lips trembled up and down.

"Close your eyes and take a deep breath." Yun Piancheng said.

Her voice was as unquestionable as a military order.

Doge obeyed subconsciously, closed his eyes, and breathed according to Yun Piancheng's instructions.

Ji Huai was a little overwhelmed and was panting in Yun Piancheng's hands.

It was unknown how long it took before Doug calmed down.

But along with his emotions, his tears also subsided.

"I'm sorry... Miss Cheng, I shouldn't have said that to you..." Doug said in a deep voice, "I was really out of my mind... I just said everything without thinking."

Yun Piancheng doesn't care about Duoge's opinion.

She has been in a high position for so long and has received a lot of mixed reviews. If she cared about everything, she would have been overwhelmed by negative emotions long ago.

"I don't care about this, Doge." Yun Piancheng said calmly.

Now, she is more concerned about -

"Dog, since you know what PTSD is, you should probably know that this is just a general classification..."

"Take a deep breath, calm down, and organize your words."

"Tell me, what is the trigger that you are most reluctant to recall?"
