Chapter 33 Where did this wild man come from in the fairytale castle?

Chapter 33 Where did this wild man come from in the fairytale castle?

When Sang Li woke up, it was already daylight.

My head hurts so much.

What came into view was a field of light.

It was a gentle, warm light that seeped in through the gaps in the curtains.

Golden, with the scent of grass and flowers.

It feels very expensive.

Her brain was a jumbled mess, and her consciousness felt like it was being submerged in lukewarm water, moving at an alarming slow pace. Everything before her was perfectly clear, yet she felt as if she had been forced into someone else's dream.

The ceiling was decorated with light gold relief patterns, and a huge wrought iron chandelier hung in the center, resembling a medieval noble residence.

The bed beneath her was unrealistically soft, the sheets white and smelling of freshly sun-dried air. She looked down at herself; she was wearing a long white silk robe with delicate rose embroidery on the cuffs.

It wasn't her own clothes.

It feels like something in my mind has been erased.

Outside the window is a garden.

The blooming pink roses are beautiful; sunlight filters through the gaps in the clouds, like paint seeping from an oil painting.

Ugh, my head still hurts so much.

What exactly happened?

Sang Li propped herself up, leaned against the bed, and rubbed her face.

Is this the home of some nobleman?

Or is it at home?

I can't remember at all.

She sat there rubbing her head for a while, then felt thirsty and was about to get out of bed to get some water.

It was a very faint sound, as if it came from somewhere.

Sang Li suddenly turned her head.

The sound rang out again, with a creak.

It's a wardrobe.

She subconsciously stared at the large wardrobe standing in the corner of the room.

Is there anything inside?

Are there rats?

Click.

Click-clack.

There was a sound coming from the wardrobe that shouldn't belong to wood.

Like... something is hidden inside.

Sang Li hesitated for a moment, then walked over barefoot.

"Is anyone inside?" she asked softly.

No one responded.

She gritted her teeth and suddenly pulled open the cabinet door.

There were only a few pieces of clothing hanging around.

There is no one.

Where did that sound come from?

Another sound.

The sound of footsteps seemed to come from very, very far away, coming from the back panel of the wardrobe.

Could it be... a secret door?

What is it used for?

Could it be a mysterious assassin coming to kill me?

Sang Li's heart began to pound violently.

Suddenly, the hidden door made from the back panel of the wardrobe opened by itself with a "click".

A gust of wind carried a fragrant aroma towards me.

In the darkness, a figure suddenly appeared in front of her.

She opened her eyes wide in astonishment.

He was a tall and slender man.

Unfamiliar, yet so stunning it almost seems unreal.

The person emerged from the hidden door and the wardrobe door.

He stood in front of her and curled the corners of his lips into a smile.

It was as if they were old acquaintances.

The man was wearing a slightly damp, semi-transparent white shirt with water stains on the chest, as if he had deliberately wet it, as it outlined his clear silhouette and undulating chest.

ah.

It looks like blatant seduction.

The black suit trousers fit his long, slender legs perfectly.

Around his neck was a black choker made of what appeared to be velvet, with a ruby-like pendant set in the center. On his left chest, a crimson rose tattoo was prominently displayed.

Sang Li cursed.

Who is this?

Why would it appear behind a hidden door?

He's so tall.

He has abdominal muscles.

Her skin was flawless.

It's unbelievably perfect.

Deep-set eyes and a straight nose.

“You,” Sang Li paused.

Judging from his face and clothing, he doesn't seem like a bad person.

Hidden door, handsome guy, [illegible]

Could it have appeared somewhere...?

His own little lover?

Sang Li: "You...you are..."

The man frowned: "You've even forgotten me?"

A sense of oppression drew closer.

"You drank way too much yesterday. Didn't you say your husband was coming back and you wouldn't let me stay overnight?" The man's voice seemed to be clenched through gritted teeth. "How did you get so drunk that you don't even recognize yourself? Do you need to make your body remember who I am?"

He suddenly stepped forward, his gaze sweeping over her white nightgown, his eyes suddenly darkening.

He seemed to be thinking about the best way to take off this garment.

She opened her mouth, but before she could answer.

"You really like my name, don't you, Qin Ye? Don't tell me you've forgotten." His voice lowered, tinged with a hint of bitterness. "You wouldn't mistake me for that man, Slo, would you?"

Sang Li was bewildered.

Qin Ye, does that sound familiar?

One's...lover?

Who is Sloan?

Qin Ye suddenly lifted her chin with a forceful motion, his dark eyes staring into hers.

“Sang Li,” he said, “do you know how much I hate it when you look at me like that?”

"..."

Such domineering words.

"They acted as if they didn't recognize me, bewildered, innocent, and at my mercy."

Sang Li: ?

My heart skipped a beat, as if facing a formidable enemy.

"What are you saying...?"

Who looks like a lamb?

Who are you?

Dude!

Qin Ye chuckled softly, but did not answer.

“However, I think you look even better in bed,” Qin Ye tightened his grip on her fingers, “It seems I need to make you remember what you missed last night. Isn’t it better that you divorced Slo and are with me? You really don’t discriminate, you can be nice to everyone, don’t you?”

Sang Li's eyes widened.

Not a buddy!

Let me explain!

Who are you?

Just as their lips were about to touch, a cacophony of sounds suddenly erupted in the corridor.

Thump, thump.

Someone's coming!

Sang Li suddenly turned her head, not caring where this man named Qin Ye had come from, and pushed him into the closet with all her might: "Don't come out! Go back!"

"Wouldn't it be nice to let Sloe see who's in your bed?" Qin Ye provocatively said. "I'll be right here waiting for him."

"Then you'd better never see me again!" Sang Li roared. "Go inside!"

Without saying a word, she forced people inside!

She also lifted her leg and kicked the man!

Unfortunately, I didn't manage to kick his butt; it was too high!

The knocking continued.

It's very light, but very rhythmic.

It even sounds somewhat mild.

“Sang Li”.

Someone called her name from outside the door.

Then, without waiting for Sang Li's reply, the person pushed the door open and came in.

At that moment, Sang Li had just closed the wardrobe and climbed into bed.

Another person came in, a stranger.

Sang Li squinted at the unfamiliar face.

He looked like a very young man, probably not even twenty years old, with very fair skin.

His brown curly hair lay clean and smooth against his forehead, and his blue eyes shone with a glassy luster. He wore a dark gentleman's suit, perfectly tailored, with each button fastened meticulously. On his hand, he wore a thin metal ring, as if it were some kind of token of identity.

Gentle and gentlemanly.

He looks just like a prince from a fairy tale.

"You're finally awake." His tone was as gentle as a breeze gliding across water.

Sang Li was stunned.

She didn't know this person either.

"Huh?" Her voice was a little unsteady, and she was still panting.

“My name is Slo,” he said, his sapphire-blue eyes filled with tenderness.

Sloan?

She thought she had heard that name from Qin Ye before.

“Mr. Slo…?” Sang Li repeated.

He smiled, as if he had heard some adorable misunderstanding.

“You don’t need to call me Mr.. You used to call me Slo, remember?” He paused, looking into her eyes. “I am your husband, Sang Li. It seems you really drank too much last night. Alcohol is bad for your health, so you should drink less.”

The air went still for a second.

Sang Li's mind went blank again.

Ah, husband?

Is she already married?

Oh right, Qin Ye is her lover.

Sloan is the husband.

No wonder.

Qin Ye is still the best looking...

“You look young, like you’ve just come of age.” Sang Li pondered for a moment. “Sorry, my mind is a mess.”

She seemed to be three or four years younger than me, and she genuinely didn't remember getting married.

“…Just turned 18?” Slo was slightly taken aback, then couldn’t help but laugh out loud. “I’m three years older than you, darling. To be honest, I should have known better than to let your friends come and drink with you yesterday. You had too much fun last night.”

He raised his hand, as if to stroke her face.

Sang Li dodged and avoided it.

Sloe's hand froze in mid-air, but she didn't feel embarrassed: "There's a ball here tonight, which you've been looking forward to for a long time, haven't you? I went shopping with you and specially made time for you. Breakfast is ready, with your favorite rose jam and black tea, as well as cherry blossom ice cream."

Sang Li blinked.

She couldn't remember anything about Sloan or anything Qin Ye had said.

Was it really a hangover?

She felt like she had fallen into a time-travel romance novel.

However, my head still felt throbbing and foggy.

Soon, someone brought breakfast.

It was a silver tray with sandwiches, soup, and a small dish of freshly baked croissants, their aroma of milk filling the air, along with freshly made rose jam.

“You like it,” Slo said softly.

Sang Li sat on the sofa in the room, looked at the exquisite breakfast, picked up a sandwich and put it in her mouth. The hot ham and melted cheese made her feel a little better.

Halfway through her meal, she looked up at the person opposite her.

Was it a political marriage? The kind without any emotional foundation?

Because it seems the husband is completely unaware of the affair and has no idea he has a lover.

An hour later, the two boarded a carriage and set off.

Go shopping.

The carriage seats were covered with plush cushions and had a faint vanilla scent.

Sloe sat down beside her, maintaining a proper distance, his gaze fixed on her, and asked with concern, "Are you feeling unwell?"

"fine."

"Yeah, a hangover isn't very pleasant."

“But I remain conscious.” Sang Li’s gaze remained fixed on the street scene outside the car window, her expression calm.

Horse-drawn carriages traveled along the clean and wide streets.

The street is lined with towering, spired buildings with stained-glass windows that cast dappled shadows as sunlight streams through. The buildings are covered in green vines and roses.

Sang Li paused for a moment, then asked, "How much did I drink yesterday?"

Slo paused and coughed softly.

"...It's hard to say."

"you say."

"A bottle and a half of rum, a bottle of wine, and a glass of vodka that you insisted on trying."

"..."

"You still insist on dancing."

"..."

"He almost kissed the horse."

"???"

Sang Li was shocked: "Me? My own horse??"

Slo nodded gently: "You said that horse looks like me when I was a child, and that it's very lovable."

"Am I crazy?!"

Sloe laughed, and it seemed the two had a good relationship: "You don't, I'm going crazy."

Sang Li laughed it off, feeling embarrassed.

but.

She vaguely remembered that she never acted out when drunk; she would just fall asleep when she was drunk.

Why is the self that Slow describes completely unlike himself?

In a corner unseen by Sang Li, Slo's eyes darkened.

That's great, you've gotten into character so quickly.

He never expected it to go so smoothly.

The bumpy carriage brought their elbows together. Slo's heart felt as if it had been gently pricked by a honey-coated thorn, a sweet, tinging pain.

Finally, finally we caught her.

From now on, the two of them can live in the castle, without having to work or socialize, and she won't have to leave his side for even a moment.

They could drink black tea together in the sunroom, her head resting on his shoulder, taking a nap. Or, late at night in the bedroom, she could snuggle in his arms, murmuring in her sleep.

There are no worries, no one else, only us.

From that moment on, she could only belong to him.

Sloan was lost in his own fantasy.

Sudden.
