Chapter 513 Solving Loneliness

It was noon on August 21st. After Lin Heng finished dealing with matters at the factory, he drove towards the village.

There was also a beautiful girl in a white dress sitting on the passenger seat. She had a schoolbag slung across her shoulder and exuded a scholarly air.

She stayed in the city this summer vacation, and Lin Heng enrolled her in an English cram school to help her improve her English.

She has strong logical thinking ability and is good at science, but is very lacking in English.

It's not her fault, because there are no resources for learning English in the mountains.

Lin Heng didn't say anything. He looked at the road ahead, driving mechanically with his mind empty and in a daze.

Looking at the scenery that was constantly passing by, he suddenly felt an inexplicable loneliness.

In recent days, two elderly people in the village who he was familiar with when he was a child passed away.

He felt a little emotional. As he grew up, his childhood playmates went their separate ways, and even his older brother and younger sister had their own things to do, so they couldn't get together.

And each of them also has some other considerations, and cannot play as happily as they did when they were children.

My parents are getting older, and many of my familiar grandparents are passing away, and I feel like I am all alone.

If at this time you marry someone who does not understand and love you, who always suppresses you, scolds you for being useless, compares you with others, and never forgives you, then your life will be even worse and you will have no attachment to the world.

Lin Heng has lived a lifetime and seen too many people and things, but when he is young again, he still can't help feeling lonely in life.

"I really want to buy some osmanthus flowers and carry some wine, but it doesn't feel like the travels of a young man." Lin Heng suddenly sighed.

"Brother, what's wrong with you?" Caiyun turned her head and looked at him curiously.

Lin Heng smiled slightly and said, "Caiyun, do you still remember our childhood? I don't remember it very clearly."

Even though I have a very good memory now, it seems that my childhood memories are no longer clear, like seeing flowers in the fog.

"I can't remember anything else, but I remember the three of us herding cattle together and digging turmeric and yam in the mountains. We were so poor when we were little that we didn't even have enough steamed bread to eat, but we still had to work."

"I remember you and my eldest brother shot a thrush together and the three of us roasted it for food. My eldest brother gave us the best legs and he ate some of the wings and neck."

"I still remember the three of us went fishing and catching crabs together. Our clothes got wet and we got beaten up by our mom when we got home. Then she fried the fish and crabs for us to eat."

"I still remember that the three of us cut down trees and built a wooden house on the mountain, but the old man tore it down and took it back to burn for firewood. My eldest brother was so angry that he stole his sheep."

"So many, so many. I remember them all. Big brother and second brother, you are all the best. When you mention that, I also miss those days. Although we were poor, we were carefree."

"Haha, now I remember it again when you mention it." Lin Heng laughed, and those vague memories became clear again.

That was the bond that the three siblings had established since childhood. Although other things might happen when they grow up, these could not be severed.

Caiyun sighed and said, "Speaking of this, I want to go home. My mom will definitely nag me again. She always thinks I don't know anything and wants to teach me everything. She is obviously very annoyed, but I miss her so much after not seeing her for a semester."

Lin Heng sighed and said, "Yeah, my parents are very nagging and don't understand a lot of things. Fortunately, they listen to me more now."

Speaking of his parents, he could think of a lot of shortcomings. He used to be very angry about their ignorance, and for a while he even wanted to ignore them and just leave.

But he could also be sure that they really loved him and would leave all the good food and drinks for them.

Later, he gradually realized that his parents' ignorance, nagging and shortcomings were not their fault. They just went to elementary school for only two years.

All they can do are things within their cognition. Even though they did some things that made him very angry, he did not blame them.

If they could go to school more, it would definitely not be like that.

As farmers, they have worked hard enough, growing crops on this rotten mountain with half a meter of rocky soil, feeding the three of them and devoting most of their lives to it. This is the limit of what they can do.

As for the rest, it’s his turn to let them enjoy themselves.

Caiyun smiled and said, "Second brother, our Lin family is so lucky to have you. Your contribution to our Lin family is worthy of a separate page in the family tree. Mom and Dad really listen to you."

"I don't have so many ideas. I just want people who are good to us to live a happy life." Lin Heng smiled.

The two of them started chatting, and once they had started talking, they couldn't stop, and they kept talking until they reached Red Maple Mountain, where Lin Heng stopped the car.

"Mom and Dad, I'm back. I missed you so much!"

Caiyun got out of the car, ran towards her parents and grabbed their hands.

"Oh, my daughter has become more beautiful again. She looks like the eldest daughter of a scholarly family. She will definitely become the first college student in our Lin family in the future." Father Lin said with a smile while holding Caiyun's hand.

"Caiyun, you haven't been bullied in the city, have you? Mom sees that you have lost some weight. You gained weight before the Chinese New Year." Mother Lin looked her daughter up and down.

Of course she saw the changes in Caiyun, but she was more concerned about Caiyun's safety.

"No, I gained weight because I ate too well during the Chinese New Year. Now I'm losing weight again." Caiyun smiled and shook her head. She was happy and relieved to see her parents.

"Come into the house, Dad will cut some watermelon and wash some grapes for you to eat. We have so many vegetables and fruits at home in this season that we can't finish them all." Father Lin said with a smile.

There was no one to take care of Lin Heng in the back, so Caiyun was pulled into the house and given a bunch of food.

Lin Heng carried the things into the house with a smile. Caiyun took the gifts for her parents. She didn't have much money, but she took the time out on Sunday to use the dimes to knit gloves and a scarf.

This kind of thing makes parents happier. Mother Lin looked at Lin Heng and said, "Son, come over for dinner this afternoon. I'll cook for you."

"Okay, do you want me to get you something?" Lin Heng asked.

"Take some mutton, I have pork here." said Lin's mother.

"Okay." Lin Heng nodded in agreement.

After saying this, he walked home with nothing in his hands.

The funeral in the village has ended, and two new graves can be seen on the hillside from a distance.

Lin Heng came to the gate of the yard and found that the door inside was open. He walked in and saw Qinglan from the village was chatting with Xiulan, and the children were playing with the dog in the yard.

"dad!"

Xiaoxia ran over and asked Lin Heng to hold her, and Luming and Du Heng followed behind.

He picked up the three children one by one and spun them around before walking into the house.

"Lin Heng is back." Qinglan greeted with a smile.

"I just came back. Do you need any help?" Lin Heng asked curiously.

"It's nothing. I just came to talk to Xiulan and ask her to go pick mushrooms with me some other day." Qinglan said with a smile.

Then she said a few more words and left in a hurry.

Lin Heng looked at the man strangely and said to Xiaoxia, "Xiaoxia, go and close the door."

"Okay." Xiaoxia nodded and ran to close the door.

"She came to ask me to play cards, saying there were not enough people, but I didn't agree, so she just stayed here chatting about random things," Xiulan explained.

She doesn't play those games, except for playing a few games with her parents during the Chinese New Year.

"Is that so? No wonder they left when they saw me." Lin Heng nodded, and then said, "Caiyun is back. Mom asked us to go to Hongfeng Mountain for dinner tonight."

"Then let's go. We don't have to cook, and I haven't seen Caiyun for a long time." Xiulan said.

Lin Heng nodded: "Then I'll go over later."

As he said this, he stood up, poured a cup of tea, and then took a few grapes and started eating.

He likes to eat Kyoho grapes, which have a very good taste and sweetness. No wonder they sell for a very good price.

"What's wrong with you? Are you worried about something?" Xiulan sat down next to him and asked.

"No." Lin Heng shook his head.

"Nothing, come and tell me." Xiulan pinched his face and asked playfully.

Lin Heng shook his head, indicating that he just wanted to drink tea. Xiulan looked at him and spread her hands, saying, "Okay then, call me when you need me."

After saying that, she stepped aside and called the child back so as not to disturb Lin Heng.

Lin Heng finished a pot of tea in silence and looked in her direction. She smiled and said, "Do you need me to pour you some tea, husband?"

She was not angry because Lin Heng ignored her, and her attitude remained very friendly.

"Okay." Lin Heng nodded.

Xiulan immediately stood up and refilled his water, then went to do her own thing. She could feel that Lin Heng just wanted to drink his tea.

Lin Heng drank his tea and went to the backyard to look at the fish. After a while, his daughter came over and kept talking to him and wanted to play with him, which made the loneliness in his heart disappear at once.

"Let's go? I've prepared the mutton. If you go too late, Mom won't have time to cook it." Xiulan asked as she walked under the pavilion.

Lin Heng looked at her and opened his arms and said, "Wife, let me hug you."

Xiulan tilted her head to look at him, then walked over and hugged him: "Are you okay now, husband?"

Lin Heng felt Xiulan's warm and soft body and smiled, "It's great to have a wife like you."

"Then let's go quickly. People will laugh at us if we are seen hugging each other in broad daylight." Xiulan looked up and smoothed his hair and said with a smile.

"So what?" Lin Heng didn't care.

"I want a hug too." Xiaoxia said anxiously beside her.

"Let's go." Lin Heng hugged Xiaoxia and put her down. The family took Xiongba and walked towards Hongfeng Mountain.

On the way, Xiulan asked Lin Heng the reason. After knowing it, she didn't know what to say for a moment. She thought the best response was to hug him and wrap him with tenderness.

"No matter what, I will depend on you for the rest of my life. You have to take me with you no matter what you do." Xiulan said this in the end.

"And me!"

"Me too!"

"Me too!"

"Okay." Lin Heng nodded with a smile.

When they arrived at Hongfeng Mountain, Xiulan asked you all to go and talk with Caiyun and reminisce about the past, while Lin Heng walked around.

Dinner was ready at seven o'clock. Lin Heng drank a bowl of glutinous rice wine freshly made by his mother and a little beer.

At night, Xiaoxia was kept by Caiyun to sleep with her. Xiaoxia was very close to her aunt and was very willing to do so.

Lin Heng brought Lu Ming and Du Heng back home. After washing up and going to bed, they both started to feel sleepy, so he coaxed them to sleep after telling them half a story.

Children are like this, they have endless energy during the day and fall asleep as soon as they lie down at night.

Lin Heng covered the child with a small quilt, drank a cup of tea and went to bed.

Xiulan came over and hugged him, looking at him with her big misty eyes, and gradually climbed to his chest.

In the early morning, Xiulan, with a rosy face, hugged Lin Heng's neck and asked softly, "Hubby, you are not lonely now, are you?"

"How can you feel lonely?" Lin Heng said with a smile while hugging her.

He discovered that women are indeed the cure for loneliness, especially good women like Xiulan.

"Then don't abandon me." Xiulan hugged him and said.

In fact, she was a little afraid that Lin Heng would become richer and richer. With more money, all kinds of women would come to him, and there would definitely be some who were prettier than her and better than her in every way.

She believed Lin Heng, but she also understood that if a woman intended to seduce a man, it would be very difficult for him to guard against it.

Not only does she actively exercise and take care of herself, she also gives Lin Heng something that other women don't have, using her own qualities and gentleness.

She became more proactive because she wanted to satisfy him, so that even if someone seduced Lin Heng, he would not be easily controlled and could stay sober.

As she thought about it, she hugged Lin Heng tightly. She did not doubt him and believed in him.

The next morning, after exercising and making breakfast, Caiyun brought Xiaoxia over.

Xiulan gave Caiyun the milk tea she had just developed, and received even more praise than Lin Heng did.

"Caiyun, your brother said it was just average." Xiulan complained to Caiyun.

"My second brother is like a cow chewing a peony and has no idea how to appreciate it." Caiyun said with a smile.

"That's right." Xiulan said with a smile.

"Yes, yes, I am just a cow chewing on a peony." Lin Heng nodded and admitted his mistake. He was indeed not very interested in this.

But today, Shirley looks particularly beautiful in her black dress.

"Honey, now that Caiyun is back, let's have a barbecue again." Xiulan said.

"Lin Hai and Tian Yan will be back in a few days, let's make a big one." Lin Heng said.

"That's perfect. I haven't seen Tian Yan for a long time. Is she not pregnant yet?" Xiulan asked.

"It seems not. You can ask when the time comes." Lin Heng said.

It didn't rain these few days and the weather was extremely hot, so Caiyun stayed at Lin Heng's house. Besides reading books, she played with Xiaoxia and Luming, and even taught them to recognize words and recite poems.

On the 23rd, Tian Yan and Lin Hai came back, and that day Tian Yan came to find Xiulan and Caiyun.

On the afternoon of the 25th, they had a barbecue. The original mutton had been eaten, and this sheep was killed by Lin Heng in the morning.

His sheep have basically finished giving birth. 104 sheep have given birth to 210 lambs. Basically, one sheep gave birth to two lambs, and two of them gave birth to three lambs.

However, there are only 203 lambs left, and together with the original 154 sheep, the total number of sheep has reached 357.

With delicious barbecue and music, everyone had a great time for an afternoon.

During the time, we talked about many things, played many interesting games, and had a lot of fun.

After it was over, everyone helped to clean up and no one just left.

"Wife, I will take you fishing tomorrow, and I will let Caiyun take care of the children."

Lin Heng said while resting at night.

"Okay, we haven't gone fishing much this year, so where are you going to go fishing?" Xiulan asked curiously while hugging Lin Heng.
