Chapter 141 Buried Under the Wolf's Belly
Mu Ling immediately turned around, carrying the female master, and ran towards the forest.
As soon as he lay prone under the tree, he immediately turned around, letting the female on his back slide down to his abdomen, and he pulled her close, holding her tightly in his arms.
The incident happened suddenly, and Mu Ling was so fast that Jiang Xi didn't even have time to think before she was enveloped in the thick, warm fur of the gray wolf.
Immediately afterwards, she felt something heavy pressing down on her, and Mu Ling seemed to curse under her breath.
Then, the wind and snow howled past, so loud it seemed to uproot the entire mountain forest.
The sound of wind and snow was constant.
After an unknown amount of time, the sound of wind and snow finally subsided.
As far as the eye can see in the forest, everything is covered in snow.
Soon, the snow began to tremble, creating irregular depressions, and all sorts of wild animals, shaking off the snow, rose from the snow.
The light reappeared, and Jiang Xi emerged from under Mu Ling's abdomen.
Then they saw Hollen standing close by, his golden mane thick and exuding an air of nobility.
Looking down, her face was reflected in the lion's blue eyes, clear and gentle.
At that moment, someone shouted.
"Is the female envoy alright?"
Jiang Xi quickly spoke up.
"I'm fine, are you all alright?"
"fine."
"fine."
"..."
In the snowy forest, sounds rose and fell.
Jiang Xi looked at the beastmen who were completely beast-like, unable to distinguish one from another, and could only say...
"Let's meet at the riverbank and see which orcs are missing."
After saying that, she looked around the snowy forest, but couldn't find the person she was looking for.
Where is Lu Liufeng?
Just as she thought that, the treetop suddenly swayed.
Immediately afterwards, Lu Liufeng jumped down from the tree, landed on the snow, and walked towards her.
"Lu Liufeng!"
Jiang Xi's eyes lit up with surprise, and she quickly ran towards him.
But the snow was too thick, and as soon as she stepped out, she sank into the snow and lay flat on the ground.
Then she felt a pull on the back of her neck; someone was grabbing the animal skin by the back of her neck and lifting her up from the snow.
As the body is raised, gold comes into view.
She then realized that she hadn't been lifted up by anyone's hands, but rather by Hollen biting the animal hide by the back of her neck.
With her feet firmly on the ground, Jiang Xi thanked him, a hint of embarrassment on her face.
"Thank you, Hollen."
The lion's head lowered, and Hollen merely responded with a low growl through his nostrils.
Lu Liufeng also came to the side.
Jiang Xi quickly hugged him.
"Lu Liufeng, are you alright?"
Lu Liufeng hugged the female master, rubbed his lips against her hair, and said softly.
"I'm fine, is the female master alright?"
Just as Jiang Xi was about to speak, Mu Ling's sour voice rang out.
"With me here, what could possibly happen to the female master!"
Upon hearing his voice, Jiang Xi suddenly realized that she had forgotten to thank him.
She then stepped out of Lu Liufeng's arms and turned to look at Mu Ling.
A huge gray wolf stood before her, majestic and imposing.
Jiang Xi looked up, meeting those grey-blue wolf eyes, and said earnestly.
"Mu Ling, thank you for protecting me."
Mu Ling gave a soft hum, awkwardly raised her chin, and looked up at the sky above the forest.
Lu Liufeng picked up the female master and placed her on Mu Ling's back.
"Let's go, let's go take a look at the river."
The blizzard came unexpectedly, catching everyone off guard.
When Jiang Xi and her three beastmen arrived at the glacier, there were already many beastmen standing there.
Everyone transformed into beastmen and donned animal skins, allowing Jiang Xi to spot several familiar faces.
But after looking around, she didn't see Hong.
She lowered her head and asked Lu Liufeng in a low voice.
Have you seen Hong?
Hong was the main leader of the team this time. Without him, Jiang Xi herself would not have been able to understand these orcs.
Lu Liufeng shook his head.
"After telling you, I immediately rushed into the woods. Hong's location was farther from the snowstorm than mine..."
He paused, as if he had thought of something, and his amber eyes narrowed slightly.
“Gasi is ahead of me; Hong has probably been blown away along with Gasi.”
The Sky Orcs can ride the wind at great speed, and in such a heavy blizzard, their wings would surely be broken if they were not in the wind.
Therefore, with a little thought, one can tell that Hong and Jiaxi have been blown far away.
Just as he was thinking this, a figure suddenly fell from the edge of the woods with a "thud" and crashed heavily into the snow, kicking up a cloud of snow.
"Cough cough cough, cough cough cough."
A violent coughing fit rang out.
Someone recognized him.
"Carter?"
The orcs gathered around and helped Carter up from the snow.
They then discovered that Carter's wing, drooping behind his shoulder, was broken.
Carter said with a pained expression.
"Gasi was scouting ahead when the blizzard hit. Hong tried to pull Gasi away, but was blown away by the blizzard."
He tried to pull them back, but before he could fly over, a strong wind lashed him, slamming him against a tree trunk at the edge of the forest and breaking his wings.
If it weren't for the big tree blocking his way, he might have been blown away somewhere.
The beastmen frowned upon hearing this.
After scanning the area, they found that only two airborne orcs remained.
Seeing that Carter's wing was broken, Jiang Xi patted Mu Ling beneath her.
"Mu Ling, come a little closer, I need to treat Carter."
Before Mu Ling could move, the orc supporting Carter quickly brought him over.
Jiang Xi sat on the giant wolf and reached out to place her hand on Carter's wing.
A shimmering green light appeared, and the "crackling" sound of bone repair echoed.
The beastmen watched this scene with undisguised astonishment in their eyes.
Many of the orcs had only heard of it and had never actually witnessed the female healer's treatment.
Amidst the pristine white snow, the green light, like the vibrant colors of spring, illuminated the female servant atop the giant wolf, making her appear as if a deity had descended.
Before the beastmen could recover, the green light faded.
"alright."
Jiang Xi withdrew her hand and looked at Carter.
"Try flying it. Is there anything else that feels uncomfortable?"
Carter stood beneath the giant wolf, looking up at the female servant on its back. An urge to kneel in submission welled up within him, and he bowed in respect.
"As you command."
As soon as he finished speaking, his wings flapped, the wind and snow were blown away, and Carter instantly soared into the air.
The whistling sound echoed through the air.
Carter circled in the air a few times, flying more freely than ever before.
Jiang Xi was still so embarrassed by that "obey" that she was practically digging her toes into a wolf's belly. Before she could finish feeling awkward, Carter landed on the riverbank, his eyes shining as he looked at her.
"I am fine, I have never been better than I am now, thank you, female messenger."
Jiang Xi could only stiffen her neck and nod, forcing herself not to be embarrassed.
"That's good."
After she finished speaking, she looked at the other orcs.
Are there any others injured?
"If you have any, you can come for treatment at the same time."
The orcs who hid in the forest mostly only had minor scrapes, so none of them came for treatment.
This minor injury is nothing to them; they will recover in no time.
Suddenly, a cry of surprise came from the edge of the woods.
"good!!!"
