Chapter 9 You are not her
Jiang Xi glanced at him, puzzled.
Nakan was inexperienced and didn't know what it meant when a female invited him to take a bath and then refused.
He wanted to ask but didn't dare, afraid that asking would annoy the female, so he could only walk away dejectedly.
Jiang Xi didn't think much of it, because all she could think about was taking a bath.
The water in the hot spring pool is flowing.
She estimated that she would have to wash many times, so she started washing in the smallest tub.
She entered the pool, animal skin and all, then peeled off the skin, washed it clean, and threw it onto the hot stones to evaporate the moisture.
The warm spring water enveloped her, and before she even began to wash her body, the water in the pool turned black.
Jiang Xi: "..."
After removing the animal skin, she could also see the black bumps on her skin.
To her surprise, the bumps shrank considerably.
Jiang Xi guessed that it was because her superpower had just been upgraded, and she had expelled some of the toxins.
The first small pool was so dark that it was unbearable to look at, so she switched to a clean one.
After thinking for a moment, she released her healing power into the water, then held her breath and immersed herself completely in it.
A familiar tingling, itchy sensation rose up all over my body.
After holding my breath several times, the pool turned black again.
Jiang Xi changed to another pool and repeated the same process of releasing her healing power and holding her breath.
She healed three black pools in a row. When she got to the last pool, she stopped using her healing abilities and started washing her hair.
Her hair was tangled and her scalp was itchy. She scratched it a few times but couldn't untangle it.
As she struggled with what to do, she suddenly noticed a gaze upon her.
A gaze devoid of any emotion.
Jiang Xi turned her head and saw a young man with black hair and red eyes, bare-chested and sporting a black snake tail, standing among the trees, looking at her expressionlessly.
The young man was handsome and wicked, but had a cold and sinister aura. His bare upper body was pale and bloodless, with only his vertical red snake eyes being the only color on his body.
He looked like a vampire who hadn't emerged from an ancient castle for centuries, which sent a chill down Jiang Xi's spine.
At the same time, she also recognized who he was.
Jiang Xi's eyes widened, she ducked underwater, and shouted, "Help—"
But before she could utter the word "fate," a dark shadow flashed past her, and the next second, her mouth was covered.
"Don't shout!"
A cold chest pressed against Jiang Xi's back.
Duan Si's voice was as cold as he was, as if he would snap her head off at any moment.
Jiang Xi nodded rapidly, like a chick pecking at rice.
Although she didn't know how Duan Si woke up so quickly, she could sense that this time, there was no murderous intent in his eyes.
That means we can talk.
Duan Si sniffed lightly, then frowned.
What he saw was clearly a body dressed in black, but a fragrance lingered in his nostrils.
Duan Si released his grip, crossed his arms, and stepped back. His V-line disappeared into the scales around his waist, and his thick, long snake tail fell among the grass, trees, and strange rocks, shimmering with black scales.
Jiang Xi turned around and looked at him, her gaze lingering slightly on the snake's tail.
Then, realizing the emptiness of her skin, she shrank back into the water.
Even though her body was nothing to look at, and she couldn't be completely naked with the orcs.
Jiang Xi looked at him and asked, "What is it?"
When the other party did not answer, she quickly repeated what she had said to Lu Liufeng and Mu Ling.
"As long as the Golden Soul Fruit can be found, I am willing to dissolve the marriage contract at any time."
Duan Si, however, only stared at her with his red eyes, his expression dark and brooding.
A moment later, his thin lips parted slightly.
"You are not her."
Jiang Xi's heart skipped a beat, and a chill ran down her spine.
Fortunately, her face was completely dark, so you couldn't see any expression on it.
"I don't understand what you're saying," she denied.
Duan Si sneered.
I don't care who you are.
"I'll retrieve the Golden Soul Fruit after spring. You'd better keep your word, or else..."
He didn't say the rest, but Jiang Xi understood.
Otherwise, he would kill himself and perish together with his opponent.
That's a madman.
Jiang Xi shrank further into the water, as if that would make her safe enough.
Only a dark head remained above the water.
"knew."
"If there's nothing else, I'm going to take a shower. Can you leave now?"
Duan Si turned around, his black hair hanging down his broad back.
Upon seeing that smooth, long hair, Jiang Xi almost had a brain fart and blurted out without thinking.
"etc."
Duan Si turned his head, his face darkening.
"What's up."
Jiang Xi forced herself to speak, "Um... what do you use to wash your hair? Could I use some too?"
My hair was so tangled that I couldn't comb it out.
Duan Si: "..."
He didn't answer, and simply turned and left.
Jiang Xi didn't know whether he had agreed or not.
Thinking of his sour face, as if he owed her eight million, she raised her hand and gave him the middle finger behind his back.
You can do whatever you want.
But before she could put her middle finger down, several things flew towards her from the woods with a "whoosh".
Jiang Xi quickly ducked her head into the water.
When it resurfaced, I saw three or four fist-sized pods floating on the surface of the water.
Her vague memory told her that this stuff could be used to wash hair.
The pods aren't as good as shampoo or soap, but they're much better than just using water.
Jiang Xi repeatedly washed her hair several times until the black pools gradually cleared, and only then was her hair finally combed out.
Even if it wasn't to eliminate toxins from her body, Jiang Xi felt as if she had washed off tons of grime.
The animal hides had already dried on the scorching hot stones.
Jiang Xi put on the animal skin, lay down on the big rock, and roasted her hair on the rock.
After drying her hair, she planned to go back and dig for potatoes, taro, and ginger, as well as pick wood ear mushrooms!
She wouldn't have taken a shower halfway through if she hadn't been so dirty she felt like throwing up.
After Jiang Xi left, Duan Si emerged from the forest, swimming by his tail, and came to the edge of the pool.
He looked at the several pools where the black liquid hadn't completely dissipated, and, as if possessed, reached out a finger and probed them.
A slight burning sensation came from my fingertips, somewhat similar to the contamination of the cursed land, but very slight, so slight as to be almost negligible, and without any harmful, contaminating, or spreading effects.
It's like... exorcising a curse or contamination?
Duan Si frowned.
Who exactly are you?
Jiang Xi was stunned as soon as she returned to the valley.
Because, on the banks of the valley, there was a huge pile of purslane, shepherd's purse, Sichuan peppercorns, chili peppers, and wild grapes...
There are so many that they couldn't be filled into several sacks!
Just then, two young orcs appeared in the valley, each carrying a bag of grapes and swimming by their tails.
The young orc's face was full of excitement. He didn't notice Jiang Xi in the valley and was about to turn around to continue picking.
Jiang Xi quickly called them to a stop.
"Hello... what are you doing...?"
Upon hearing the sound, the two young snake-beastmen quickly turned around.
Then, a blush spread from her cheeks all the way down to her neck.
"Mistress Duan Si, you...you've finished bathing~~"
